I'm so glad I found this place. I'm in the catering business and I know great food when I taste it. My husband and I went across the country recently to find the best authentic Mexican street tacos. Ironically our favorite place is right here in our neighborhood. The tacos, sauces, and tortillas are truly authentic and delicious. The gyros were amazing! You can tell everything is made fresh. This is not a fast food restaurant...it's fresh delicious food. Still, the wait was absolutely reasonable. The restaurant was immaculate...very clean. The service was awesome...super friendly, making for a very pleasant dining experience. I'm definitely going back as often as possible and I want to try everything on the menu. I have a feeling that this restaurant will be full to capacity in the future as more people learn about it. The prices are almost too fair. I can tell that the owners have a passion for food and hospitality. Thanks for all you do. Keep up the great work!
The new owners are working hard to take a good thing and make it better! The Mexican food has always been good and the expanded menu now includes some of the best pizza around. Prices are very reasonable and they are freshening up the appearance inside. Friendly service, open late, good food... what more could you ask for?
Denise and Don are the new owners and they are fabulous. I come here at least 3 times a week. I've tried numerous items but will admit their tacos (both soft and hard shells) are my favorites!!! The canolli's are amazing and the perfect end to any meal. The environment is relaxing and the service is superb. I recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for delicious food and excellent service.
We love this place. The owners Don and Denise treat all customers with care and kindness. The food is ALWAYS fresh and so good and made to order. Not just tacos. Pizza wings subs salads and more. All new owners. Restaurant is so clean come visit the comfort inn on San Carlos park. They deliver too. You will love it.
We had pizza, taco and Itailian sub, all were excellent. Fresh, tasty and great presentation. The owners who also work the counter were so friendly. We loved finding our new favorite pizza after being a resident here for over 7 years. Nice bright, clean atmosphere too! We will be telling all our neighbors here in Jamaica Bay about Taco Viva Pizzeria!!!
This place has excellent food and the new owners Don and Denise are so personable and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The tacos, burritos, and all the Mexican food is great! They have great pizza too. A big selection of pizzas and if you don't see what you want the way you like it ,just ask for it and they will be happy to make it for you. When you are going to leave after eating you know you will be coming back for more. The prices are low but I give the food and owners a high 5! We go there a couple times a month and

We moved to the San Carlos Area about a month and a half ago, we have eaten here probably 6 times. Three times in the dining area and 3 times taking the food home. We have tried a variety of items and a different times of the day and evening. The food has always been excellent, fresh well worth waiting the 20 minutes or so for the food. Nate has served us on 3 occasions he is always professional remembers us, he took the time to speak with both of our children. This is our go to spot for great tacos and a quick bite to eat either dine-in or take out. The place is always immaculate bonus is being able to support a local fellow veteran business owner. Keep up the great work.
I’ve been eating at taco viva for a long time and am very pleased with the new ownership and the direction they have taken the restaurant, never thought I would be ordering pizza from taco viva years ago but now that they offer it I would highly recommend and rate it as one of my favorites in town. As always the tacos, gyros and other items are always great and at a fair price. They are always very friendly too when you come in, give them a try and you’ll be hooked to come back!
Great food with a great price with even better hospitality. The hard shell tacos are made with a softer shell so each individual ingredient in the taco can be tasted. They offer 50 cent chicken wing Monday, and taco Tuesday is a not miss. Their chicken and rice dinner for 1 was more than enough to eat for 2.

I judge a pizza by the crust, sauce, and toppings. Taco Viva Pizzeria hit the mark on all counts. The owners and staff are friendly and accommodating. On my next visit(s), I'll definitely be trying the Mexican menu. So glad I found this place!
Service is great. Kyle and his girlfriend were very drunk and disorderly. Owner works very hard to make sure their customers are satisfied. Food is also excellent for very reasonable princes. Highly recommend. Also (the only bad review is at 1am. Let’s be real here lol)
Decor is minimal. but the food is great. We only eat Mexican here and I must say the Shrimp Scampi platter and the Burritos are excellent. We also like the Chimichangas. BTW you cannot beat the price. We eat like very contented pigs for about $20 to $25 berage included. Don't let the decor fool you. The eating experience is phenomenal.
I am so bummed that this place changed! If the people working there remain the same, it's probably still great. However, the following review was for the Taco place - they did not have pizza when we used to go there:

don't let the appearance of this joint fool you - Incredible food and good service! Try the Super Burrito, not to mention the guac! I tip the cook every time !
Truthfully one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had and you can’t beat the price. The owners and staff are very friendly and make sure everything is to the customers liking. Next time I will try the Mexican cuisine which I’m sure is delicious as well. I would recommend everyone to try Taco Viva Pizzeria, you’ll thank me later.
Best Mexican food I’ve found in town!! The pizza is amazing and comes in so many forms. I eat here all the time and they treat us like family, there was even a time I didn’t have money for food and they offered to cover it. I look forward to them being around for a long time!! And yes this is new management.
Total dive, in a good way. About the same prices as a Taco Bell, but worlds better. Am uploading their menu, see Photos. My first visit, but won't be my last. Owner does the cooking and is a friendly guy. Five stars from me, sure why not?
This tiny little dive has the most incredible Mexican food! its very inexpensive, the owner is the nicest guy and the food is so much better than you'd expect from a tiny little place with a drive thru. Expect high quality food with surprisingly beautiful presentation all for an average of $7 per person including a drink!
