Great Food, Great Service, need I say more. Every time we come here for a meal whether they are busy or not the meals are always perfect! You will not be disappointed! Try them and see for yourself :).
Awesome food and good service. Try the number 28 or 30. My families favorite place to eat healthy and fresh food! Always consistently great food.
Unlike most Vietnamese places in the region, this is clean & interestingly decorated. Food is rather good. We plan to cube back next time we are in the area.
Beautiful restaurant and great atmosphere. I'm a regular customer here and I love it everytime I come. It's beautiful and the servers are very accommodating and polite. I've seen reviews where they said the service is bad but I'm a regular and I recognize servers and I also see new servers. I assume the bad service is blamed on the new servers but I say give them time and they will be just as good as the ones from the old. Aside from the service the food is very good. The price is definitely worth the quality of food and the portions that you receive. I will be a repeat customer until the day I die or until the restaurant closes.
Great!. The service is getting much better! i highly love it and i will be coming back. the manager is outgoing and the cashier is polite! good service
Fantastic food! Lots of variety!. Regular here. Love the food! Always too much food. Yes the price is a little higher than others, but the quality is much better and the quantity is much more. I'll be coming back again!
Good food. I love the egg rolls!
Great food!. My wife and I found the "Bo Luc Lak" (sp?) it is delicious!
We also dig the egg rolls for the appitizer, they have a super dipping sauce man.
Amazing!!. The Green Papaya doesn't look like much on the outside but be prepared to have a flavor explosion in your mouth upon entering. The spring rolls are absolutely incredible!! The Pho, the one that I had was number 1 on the menu, was fabulous! The flavor was just right, not too overwhelming. I will go to The Green Papaya every single time I am in town. The service was wonderful, the atmosphere is cozy, and the food is amazing!
Green Papaya is King!. Green Papaya is the best restaurant in Fort Smith. And has been since it opened several years ago. The ingredients are fresh and the atmosphere is phenomenal. There is a fish tank and TV's of the menu items that you can watch before you order, wait and eat. The food is perfect. What is even better is it is not pricey. You can have a nice dinner for two for under 25 bucks. The bathrooms are immaculate and the whole restaurant is spotlessly clean. We have been eating there since they started and it never disappoints. We have tried many restaurants, but always ultimately come back to Green Papaya!
This is what I usually order as I have found to be my favorites on the menu...
Veg. Spring Rolls (as Appetizer) BTW The Peanut Sauce is Delisioso!
Number 13 Bun Tom Xan noodles or the
Number 19 Canh Chun soup. Be sure to get the egg with the noodles and oyster sauce with both!
Thai Tea.
A Local Gem...Definitely worth the trip.. I heard about this place a few weeks before I visited. The food here is simply amazing. I have been twice and each time ordered the Pho Tai Nam, a huge bowl of broth, noodles, and spices that holds thinly sliced brisket and eye-of-round steak. The soup dish comes with a side plate of bean sprouts, peppers, and lots of fresh basil leaves that you can peel and add to taste. I highly recommend this dish.
The prices are amazingly reasonable, especially for the size of portion and quality of the food you get. This is a small restaurant, so service is not a problem. The staff is kind, too. Green Papaya, you get an "A" from Jane Doe.
The #28 is RIDICULOUSLY good! Chicken w/ garlic sauce and veggies/rice. All so yummy! Garlic sauce is sweet, and delicious. A favorite, for sure!
Loved this place when I was in the fort smith area...I ate here probably 5 days a week and it never got old
I Love Green Papaya. We tried the Green Papaya for the first time today, but we will definitely be back. We live 85 miles from Fort Smith, but like to shop there. When we come we always eat out. Green Papaya is a favorite already. We enjoyed the vegetarian spring rolls so much that we had to have a second order. As a vegetarian I really appreciated the many choices. When we first drove up to the restaurant we were not that impressed, but the interior is exceptionally nice and clean.
NICE. The restaurant setting is very nice. Service is friendly and most of all, the food is delicious! It is a vietnamese restaurant and if you like vietnamese food, I recommend this place.
Good stuff.. Pho isn't as good as the pho at pho hoang but i love their #6,#8, and #23 . I usually call in an order and it's always ready. The location is the only bad thing because it takes me about 20 mins to get there.
Good. It was good but I was expecting better after hearing friends talk about it.
Very good, priced right. A friend recommended Green Papaya to me. So, I ordered takeout for lunch there. Chicken Fried Rice. It was fresh and delicious and reasonably priced. I highly recommend.
Best Pho...ANYWHERE. This place is incredible. The appetizers are great---my favorite is the pork spring rolls with yummy peanut sauce. But where they really shine is their authentic pho, the best I've had anywhere. I took a Vietnamese friend there recently and he said it's the best he's found in the U.S. since he moved here. I've been less impressed with some of the other dishes like stir-fry & noodle dishes; not that they are bad at all, just not as amazing as the pho. It's so much I always have to take some home!
Splendidly fresh and healthy!
I went to Green Papaya last Sunday 26 June 2011.
When I was seated I told the gentleman that I have never been to Green Papaya nor have I ate Vietnamese cuisine. He said he would suggest something that's more of a "beginner" dish. He asked if I liked fried rice and I said yes. He suggested the Com Chein Dac Biet (pronounced K'ahm Cheen Dock Bait) which is a combination fried rice with shrimp, chicken and beef.
It is amazing!! I can't wait to go try something a little more daring.
Oh and I had the Thai Tea which was wonderful!
I crave this place. I love the chicken spring rolls. They beckon me all the way from Fayetteville. Yes, I could find some here to eat but then they wouldn't be from the Green Papaya, would they!
A big win for FSM!. This is a great place to go for yummy Asian food. The combination fried rice is excellent and the chicken with garlic sauce is my husband's go to menu item. He says if I learn to fix the garlic sauce, I could put it on cat food and he would be happy! The fried egg rolls are the best in town -- bar none! Reasonably priced but the service can be a bit slow at times. Still a big win for FSM
Authentic, excellent Vietnamese. The most popular dish is their #24, which is fried rice w/ pork, shrimp, chicken, and beef! Nothing beats it.
The Best. This is my favorite restaurant in Fort Smith period...
Great Food, excellent variety, and clean...
Good food. Papaya has excellent food. Very unique menu. The only cons are no kid menu. Prices are a bit high... so if you have a six year old who won't eat more than a few bites be prepared to pay full price for an adult entree. They don't make exceptions.
Those two syllables will get your meal off to a unique and appetizing start at Green Papaya. You see, A 2 is the menu listing for the shrimp spring rolls. They're not fried (though Green Papaya's fried egg rolls are among the tastiest around), but rather a roll of fresh vegetables and cooked shrimp wrapped in soft rice wrappers. Dunk them in the sriracha-laced peanut sauce and just let your eyes roll back in your head with pleasure. If you can resist a re-order of the A2, try any of the bun dishes or the combination fried rice--possibly the best fried rice I've ever had and I've eaten a lot of it in a lot of places. Another main course suggestion is #17, which is a sort of build-your-own meal. Small squares of rice noodles come out with chicken and julienned vegetables (I ask for some mint leaves to add to the mix). Take some of each ingredient, wrap them in the noodle sheets and dip into what they call their "fish sauce". It's not the salty brownish fish sauce like you buy in Oriental markets, but closer to a very thin yellow/orange sweet-n-sour. Whatever you have, you won't be disappointed.

Yummy. Love this.... its nice that the Fort finally has some culture food!!
Totally love the salads...! Big win!
Good Pho in South Fort Smith. There are other Pho restaurants I like better, but Green Papaya has the nicest interior, fast service, and lots of seating. Very friendly staff. Food is hot, large portions, and very affordable. For my tastes, the dishes could have more spice, but for those who like milder dishes this is probably more suited to them.
Good food, not good Pho. They have good dishes but they are pretty expensive. The only other knock i have on this place is that their Pho isn't any good. I still go for the #30 or the #15. I eat here once a week or once every two weeks
Could compete with big city asian. We lived in Portland Oregon for 6 years and Portland is well known for fresh food and lots of chef owned restaurants. This place would hold its own in Portland. The outside is typical of many Fort Smith restaurants, not much to look at. But once you walk in you know that they are going to be paying attention to the quality of their food. Everything we have had has been wonderful. Fresh, authentic and very good.
Not a great selection of food but the combo fried rice is amazing. Eggrolls are delicious!
I love their hot and sour soup! It is fresh, with fresh veggies and pineapple. Much more appetizing than the usual muddy looking hot and sour soup you usually get at Asian restaurants!
#28 Chicken in Garlic sauce. Bits of chicken in garlic sauce with vegetables and steamed rice is GREAT. Also #21- two thin cut pork chops with vegetables and steamed rice. When getting vegetables you will always get papaya as one of the veggies. It has wonderful flavor. They also give you a sauce to drizzle over the vegetables and meat, chicken or shrimp it you want. Fried rices dishes are also great. My wife loves their soup with noodles and either chicken or shrimp with vegetables and pineapple. Delicious. I believe there are over 100 choices on their menu. They also do "to go orders." The owners are a family and get along wonderfully. They are congenial and always ready to serve their customers. They show the typical Vietnamese kindness. They have even taught me how to say "Thank you" and "Your Welcome."
The place was pretty quiet when we came in, but it quickly became hopping shortly thereafter. There is a variety to choose from and several beers, all $3.50.
Ca Ry Ga ($9.95), a green chicken curry served up with a mound of white rice. This I found to be excellent, a delicious pairing of Vietnamese-style curry paste with coconut milk. The simmered-in chicken, potatoes and onions were falling apart and tasty. The carrots and onions were somehow sweeter than I expected but they were also good. The whole mess was served up on green lettuce leaves — which were a little distracting to work around, but which made for a prettier dish, I supposed.
Very nice atmosphere and awesome serving sizes. Have been coming here for years and will continue to. It is a very consistent restaurant that I have never left feeling dissatisfied. Menu can be a bit overwhelming to someone with no knowledge of what typically comes with/on these dishes however they have tvs on the wall showing alot of food choices they have and the menu numbers.
Excellent, authentic Vietnamese food!!! A great find in Fort Smith. Pho broth is rich and seasoned just right with fresh, crisp veggies. Friendly staff, reasonable prices, clean, good atmosphere.
Excellent! I am SO full. And have a box of leftovers...enough for another meal! Delicious !
Green Papaya has been a staple of Fort Smith cuisine for a decade. Revitalizing the old Bob and Ellie's building, they transformed into a sleek, clean, and inviting atmosphere. Often times a piano rendition of "my heart goes on" is playing in the background; like icing on the cake.
The food is great! Most recipes come from the owner's grandmother from what I've gathered and they're delicious. Rich in flavor and authentic. I usually get two full meals out of every order.
Service is somewhat slow. I'm sure given their large menu selection and the homemade selections, it's difficult to get the food out in a fast manner. It's worth the wait, just keep it in mind when coming here.
Lastly, there's another location on Grand Ave. that's just as good!
Very good food, they have a good vegan option for those that need it. The ladies that work there are very nice and friendly.
Great variety of Vietnamese food. I have enjoyed every dish I've had. All tasty
The food and service is great. You can pick anything on the menu and not be disappointed! Tips: their peanut dipping sauce is better than everyone else’s and the plum sauce is amazing!!
Service wasn’t fantastic, but the food was pretty tasty and well portioned for the price.
Nothing was particularly spicy, which was kind of a letdown if you eat Asian food often, but it’s great if you don’t like strong, unfamiliar flavors.
The plates were presented well and everything looked extremely appealing.
