This place has great food, but how do they get away from having a handicap bathroom. The women’s bathroom is so small an obese or handicapped person can not use it!!! How is this possible?
Wonderful old fashioned place with great, fast, friendly service. There chef salad is out of this world. The Roquefort dressing! And ranch! Their onions rings, jalapeño picks and curly fries are good too. I like chillin cheese fries.
I've been here several times, including with co-workers and family, and have never had less than a delicious experience and meal. The staff is always friendly and on point, and the food always delicious. Today I had the mushroom and swiss burger, and while the patty was slightly cool, it was a very generous portion and perfectly cooked. The other toppings were fresh, and the burger had that bit of juice that runs down your hand, denoting a great, fresh meal!
This is a great old fashion dinner. My boyfriend and I had the French dip. The fries were nicely thick sliced and the curly fries are well seasoned. They were delicious! The au ju was great!
This wonderful Fort Smith tradition has the best roast beef sandwich in town. Coupled with an order of fried mushrooms and it's a great meal.
Some of the best fried pickle chips! Fries where not good. Meat on French dip was very tasty just not enough of it.
Beer served in your car!. AMAZING. The French Dip is utterly amazing. The very hot jalepeno burger, yum! Fries are good. Pies are good. Beer is good. An old time hamburger joint, drive in or eat in.
Oh man I love this place for some simple comfort food. Kids seem to love it.
The Big Burger Keeps Getting Better. Have you tried the Giant Cheeseburger? Five pounds of meat on a bun with all the fixings... no, this one's not for competition eating (though several have tried to eat the whole thing). This one comes out sliced into eight, with a pie server handy. It's meant to be shared with your family. Recently, Ed Walker's switched to a housemade bun, which makes this burger experience even better. Enjoy with your family -- and don't forget the Texas Toothpicks.
The fries are okay but who cares about fries when the drip beef sandwich (with provolone) is so delicious? And they have Fat Tire which is a big plus to this Okie!
Yummmm every time! I have been eating here since I was a little girl. French dips are a must, gravy fries are awesome and there burgers are wonderful!! Never a bad experience!! Oh! Must try the fried pickles!!
I'm from Fort Smith and I've been eating at Ed Walker's for 30 years. Theirs is the only burger in town that I care to eat. The french dip is equal to the best anywhere, and I've been all over the US and all around the world. (Oddly, I've seen no french dips on Parisian menus.)
Love Ed Walker's!!!. Not sure what Erin's bad experience was about but sounds like it was something from the past. I love eating at Ed Walker's!! I grew up eating there and have enjoyed seeing the changes throughout the years!! I think it's better than ever!!!
Stopped while traveling.. great food, friendly service, and great atmosphere.
I have been eating hear for years but the last fire times I have eaton here the service has sucked I think all the good help has left and all we have left is the turds that sank to the bottom of the bowl. The food is super the help sucks.
Great Diner. This is a great Diner to go to, it is open late and the food is good. It isn't the best place I have eaten at but their French dips are awesome.
THE diner. This is the proverbial diner. If you love watching diners drive ins and dives this is one of those places. Burgers and really good and so is the atmosphere. I have not tried the 5 pound burger yet but it is a specialty I have seen at a table next to me. Everyone looked happy
THE BEST French Dip EVER!!!. I have driven past this place with the big neon sign many times, but just never took the time to stop. Luckily I had the time to stop by for a late lunch on my last trip through Fort Smith. I had the world famous french dip and it was the best I have ever had! The coconut pie was also amazing. Ed Walker's has been around since the 40's and I can see why. I will be stopping by every time I drive through Fort Smith from now on.
Great Night Out. One of those places you can chow at with your friends when you're out on the town and got a craving for some good burgers and a few beers. Super-friendly, affordable and down home. Also, Adam Richman and friends need to have a run at that 5lb burger challenge!
Classic Diner. Very happy with the food. It all tasted homemade and comforting. Had the French Dip with Swiss and curly fries. Finished everything. Wife had a Razorback Burger and curly fries. Good, thick patty and well seasoned. Good wait staff.
The salads are amazing, the burgers have such a great flavor, the sandwiches and fried pickles are incredible! Truly a fine down home diner that is a must to visit!
Best burger in western Arkansas. I don't know where reviewer mikedotcom was eating at, but I've been going to Ed Walker's for 10 years and absolutely nothing has changed except for the brand new booths they just bought. It's where we take all of our friends from out of town, and they all ask to go back when they come and see us. We're about to move away from Fort Smith, and Ed Walker's is the one place in this awful town that I will miss.
Out of this World!!. I enjoy eating here weekly and have never had a bad experience. The French Dip is grounds enough to love it!The servers treat you like family and take good care of you! Bad experience=a bad day. I was a server for awhile, bad days happen. Best wishes to the owners!!
Phillys roc. My fav is the philly cheez stk! Dip in the aujus from the dip & its awesome! The texas Toothpics are great to! Will be going back soon!
Dont listen to the below one. I think the onion rings are the best around!! and the burgers are even bettter!!! it is one of those places that you would see on food channel!!
Places like this are so rare nowadays. As a waitress I understand how you sometimes get slammed on Holidays such as Halloween and New Years Eve. Ed walkers has always been the best. Their food is excellent and the atmosphere rocks. The Walkers sub is my Favorite with roquefort and ranch!! :) love Ed Walkers!
Good food. It was a bit off-putting that they sell beer, the decorations on the wall were a little too much, but the food was well worth the money. I based this critique off of one visit, but it is definately a restaurant that I would like to visit again.
