I drive 50 minutes, and they never disappoint. I love their beef tips and rice. The chicken and dumplings were satisfying today as well. Food is seasoned well... not overly seasoned.
Bring your appetite because Madea's will bring the portions! The food is very good & the ladies are helpful. Had the smothered porkchops, greens, okra and tomatos, broccoli cheese rice & saltwater cornbread. The red Kool-aid was a definite bonus!
This food is amazing! Y’all must come and support! It is a black owned restaurant as well! I live in Red Oak, Tx and willing to drive 50 minutes! It’s that good! 😊
Absolutely the best, I will be back when I come into town! I wanna try some other restaurants, but this place, I must revisit!
On my visit to Madea’s I ordered the chicken fried chicken, candied yams, Black Eyed Peas, and cabbage. I ordered a side of mac & cheese that was good but definitely could have used a little bit more seasoning. While the food alone would have made for a remarkable experience, the exceptional service
Food was delicious. Meatloaf was seasoned well with a tomato sauce on top. I was happy that it didn't taste like ketchup, but more like a spaghetti type sauce. Macaroni was super cheesy. I tasted my Love beef tips and they were SOO good. Tasted just like a Sunday roast.
Madea's is amazing! The food is beyond delicious and the portion sizes are insane. If you can finish one of their lunch special plates, you must have a bottomless pit for a stomach. Once you eat here, you will come back again. Promise.

Had heard about this restaurant, so we decided to try it and we were not disappointed!! Great tasting down home cooking and plates were filled to the rim! I ate off my plate 3 days! The peach cobbler was really good too!.
My first time here. Great food! Very fast service. I had the fried pork chops with greens, mac and cheese, and yams. It was awesome to see hot water corn bread on their menu. I haven't had it in years. My friend got the beef tips. They were just as good as the pork chops. I can't wait to go back!
I’m NEVER disappointed when I go to this restaurant! The food is ALWAYS hot and fresh. I ordered the catfish which is cooked to order. The broccoli rice casserole was so delicious it didn’t make it to the house nor did the greens. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. I love this place.
Madea's has some of the best soul food in Texas! I've never been here, so Saturday was our first time coming to this particular Restaurant. We were not disappointed! I ordered the Smothered Pork Chops with white rice, corn, and broccoli rice, and cheese! It was delicious 😋 My husband ordered the Ox
The reviews did not lie on this place. Food was delicious. Had chicken fried steak, green beans, broccoli and cheese casserole and mashed potatoes. All food was fantastic. Super close to Mainstay farm. If you are looking for home cooking this is a great find.
Goodness overload. Best home cooking bar none. Very generous portions. One plate will feed two. Not cheap, but not expensive given the portions. Staff friendly, but not overly so. Ambiance may not apply. It's a dining room. Served from cafeteria line. Overall, the best meal I've had in eons. Highly
Came just based off the reputation of the Google reviews and we loved it. Yes, a little pricey but you're getting some HUGE portions and quality food. (Honestly, the wife and I could've split one meal) Highlights were the beef tips and rice and the Mac and cheese. Honestly though everything was goo
This place is the truth! You get your money's worth at Madea's. Fresh, hot & cooked to order fried options. Chicken wings were so crispy and juicy!!! Everything is seasoned to perfection, great staff, clean restaurant and lots of great options to choose from. Big momma would be proud. From yams, gre
I'm not a local.. I live in New Jersey but I'm a southerner at heart and love good soul food. On a dear friend's suggestion, I drove a long way to get this great plate of food today and boy I was not disappointed! Great atmosphere inside, the line moved quickly as the gents behind the counter ensu
Fish was fresh and hot. Yams were good not too sweet but just right. Didn’t particularly like the broccoli rice and cheese, a little extra wet and lacks flavor. Gravy over the rice was delicious. Would have preferred white bread over the hush puppies. Husband said the strawberry cake was moist and d
