Starfish Restaurant - Fountain Valley - Photo album

The roasted catfish for rolls is excellent. A variety of herbs, rice noodles, rice paper, and sauces accompany the fishes. You customize the rolls yourself. You need to preorder the fish since it takes 45 minutes to prepare. We called ahead and got our fish 10 minutes after we got our other dishes.
The catfish soup is authentic and fresh - I love that it’s cooking on the table! The catfish stew is also well made where the fish stays moist, not too salty so I can eat it without rice. Deep fried tofu is crispy on outside and melt in your mouth delicious on the inside
If you like fresh seafood out of the ordinary, put this place in the top of your list. The soft shell crab is heavenly and so is the escargot. You don't expect to see Razor Clams even in high end seafood restaurants, but it's one of the things this small restaurant offers on their lineup. And Crawfi
Pretty glad I tried this place. They offer a big variety and the prices aren't too bad. Only thing is that the service could be a little more attentive and speedy. Took awhile to get our food but once we did we were satisfied. Tried the fish sauce glazed wings, fried calamari, combination fried rice
Very tasty good Vietnamese food for a fair price. Excellent customer service. Highly recommend.
The food here is good. I ordered for pick up and the food was delicious when I brought it home.
Really, really good. Hidden delight. Dishes are simple but complex in flavor and balanced. Egg rolls are amazing. The tofu is good too. Fresh food/vegetables. Not sure why others have left lower ratings, but I’m now questioning the sanity/palette of those reviewers
My company held a Christmas dinner here last night. It was my first time eating here and i must say, the foods were delicious. We had our private event room in the back. We had the 7 course meal which included crabmeat soup (great), chicken, fish, lobster noodles(awesome), fried rice, steak etc. A
This is the best Vietnamese Restaurant around the OC. Seriously, everything I've eaten here has been delicious and fresh. I can't say enough about their Tamarind Fish Soup and their Catfish in Claypot. Also their soda xi moui is my go to drink. I will eventually explore their fresh seafood boil
Make sure you get the Ong Choi (basically some amazing garlic sauteed spinach), if you like catfish the catfish dish is always here! Okay...make sure you try the garlic noodles with beef or shrimp...The beef is so tender and amazing, and shrimp is cooked perfectly, no rubber shrimpery at all... Ever
Starfish serves a variety of food, from home cooked food you would get at your moms house, street food, or bar food. The service was friendly, but a little slow because they were understaffed. We enjoyed all of our fish except for the sate squid which over burnt and dry. We honestly didn’t taste any
I could not be more impressed with this hidden treasure. All of the food was perfectly cooked and seasoned. What a delight it was to get to know the owners and sample their cuisine. Their salt and pepper shrimp was tremendous and the hot wings were incredible. Can not recommend then highly enou

I love their exotic salads, such as the mango or papaya salads topped with grilled prawns or calamari. Also my favorite is the spicy crab and prawns Vietnamese udon bowl. So delicious! This is one of my favorite places to go for good Vietnamese foods.
Need improvement on the menu and the quality of food
Excellent service...good portions well priced...wife said it reminded her of Cebuano style Philippine home cooking...the fried Pampano was fresh and mild fish...not oily... only $12...ambiance is very desirable...outside almost better than inside doning...ask for Tao as server...delightful...all are
