Great sushi place.
I rated 4 stars only because you can’t just show up. They are only open 4 days a week and 2 days for lunch. Hard to find since their sign is tiny.
I will definitely go back.
It was a wonderful experience and chef provide a new and unique omakase experience. The quality of the food represents the sushi chef imaginative ideas. Definitely a recommend and also got to try wine for the first time with sushi and it is changes your perspective.
My favorite in Orange County. Lunch is a steal!

Omasake only. RSVP on Yelp. They do not take walk in so make sure you get a reservation. The food is always good. They got some new items. You can always order more if you are still hungry afterward. I was full. Come on weekdays it’s less traffic.
Authentic sushi restaurant with great service and ambience. Chefs are very talented and creative. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. Definitely recommend for uni lovers!
Post covid dining experience. Been craving for authentic sushi for too long. Unable to fly to Japan (first choice) or New York City (2nd choice). Finally found a place that I felt it’s very Japan-like.
Sushi is more fusion than traditional Edomae style sushi as you see various toppings on different fish. Great fish, everything is fresh and flavorful. Rice is awesome, both portion wise and taste wise. I inquired where they got their rice from - a special crop imported from Japan. Ah no wonder the taste is much more Japan-like. I like their sauce on fish too, creates different flavor than the usual soy sauce.
They also have different menus available for take out and outdoor eating.
I highly recommended this restaurant. Reservation required.

It’s rare that we give 5 stars to a sushi restaurant but this restaurant absolutely deserves it!
One key for serving very exquisite sushi is the rice. There’s no question that this restaurant has the best rice we have tried in O.C.
High quality premium Japanese rice with high quality fish is a perfect combination for a sushi dining experience. Even though we sat outside because of Covid, the whole dining experience was very enjoyable.
Without a doubt, this has become one of our favourite sushi restaurants in O.C. if you are skeptical about paying $120 / 160 for the omakase, try the premium set first. Even the standard set is way better than many others that we have tried.
The nigiris were so good that we had to order extra pieces! The server and the chef are very friendly too.
BTW, don’t expect to find a big sign for this restaurant because it’s a very traditional Japanese restaurant that only has a small sign on the door.
We look forward to an indoor dining experience one day because the interior looks very nice!
Another big plus is that we can make reservation online!
Chef did an amazing job. The Momoyama Omakase was 175 and included several special dishes alongside traditional sushi. Waitstaff was cleanly and helpful. This was the highlight of our trip.
Absolutely I would go back every day if I lived closer. Not only was everything at the bar delicious and carefully created, the service was excellent.
Went here on diner date my wife. What a lovely surprise. Cool and hip place for sushi. Servers were on point. We enjoyed every bites.
This has to be one of the best sushi places I have been to in Orange County. The level of craftsmanship of the sushi is at another level than most sushi places. The inside is small and it is a bit hard to find in the plaza, but once in you will be in for a next level sushi experience. A reservation is definitely needed. This is not a cheap sushi place so if you order some drinks expect to pay quite a bit. However this is not a setback, as the food is worth every single penny of it's full value. I recommend this place if you are looking for a high end sushi restaurant. Absolutely worth the visit!
Took my girlfriend here for her birthday and we had an amazing time! Food was exceptional, presentation was amazing, and the service was outstanding. Highly recommended!

This place is simply incredible. The sushi just keeps getting better. When you think you’ve had your best one they hit you with something even better. Black cod w/ truffle salt is life changing!
Officially my 2nd favorite restaurant! First is "Mama's fish House" in Hawaii. I had a great time at Momoyama and food was just delicious and perfect!
