First time hitting this chain, but also local favorite. The people inside are friendly and it's a cute homey atmosphere. We were seated right away even though it looked busy from the outside. The food is pretty good, but lacked strong flavors overall for me. You get a lot or bang for your buck here as far as food goes. They also offer a slight military discount which is super nice as well. Overall a good experience besides the flavor of the food.
I've been to a couple of the Black Bear Restaurants and I can confidently say that this is one of the best I've ever been to. Not only the place was decorated with Christmas lights, but the waitress were also dressed up which made a rather long day for me feel more cheerful. My server Donna, was one of the kindest people I've ever spoken to in this sort of industry. She checked in on me constantly, helped me choose an item that was better than what I usually get and made me feel very welcome. She was one of the best waitresses I've ever had, and I hope that she gets the praise she deserves. Overall, great food (I got the Waffle with chicken with a side of fries and the seasonal coconut mocha), amazing service, and most of all friendly atmosphere all around. I've found my new go to for food.
Once again black bear diner doesn’t disappoint! I made my family of 11 drive 30 minutes out of our way in the opposite direction of where we were headed; just to eat here and it was absolutely worth it! This is the first restaurant I’ve ever seen my sister in law say the eggs were perfected! Our waiter Eric handled our group like a champ! Drinks were always full and he got our order correct the first time! Delicious food, amazing service, quick and efficient, quality of food and presentation was all worth it! If you stop here, ask for Eric to be your waiter. He won’t do you wrong!
The food was delicious. Generous portion sizes. We couldn't eat it all. My husband ordered The Grizz. The pancakes were so light & fluffy. Two people could split this meal. I had the Breakfast Sliders with the hot Italian sausage. It was very good.
I'm so jelly jelly... The breakfast Chris ordered smells amazing... All I can have is clear liquids this morning but I insisted he eat before we get to the hospital. I'm going to be starving once I'm out of surgery. We did get the perk of being seated next to the fireplace.
Amazing breakfast! Awesome service and wish their was one in my city! We we're seated immediately and promptly asked for our drinks... Never had to ask for coffee which is always a plus. My plate was huge! Would definitely be back if I'm in the area!
I had the opportunity of eating at this establishment for a work Christmas Party. Our server Ms. Grace was fantastic. She was efficient, professional and overall kind. I would highly recommend this establishment in Fountain. If you have the privilege of getting Ms. Grace. You will not be disappointed.

Haley was one of the best servers I've had in a long time! Can't ask for any more than service with a smile and a laugh. It's sad to see someone yell at this young lady for the inconvenience of not having something! Hopefully her day will get a lot better.
Outstanding service, great food, and speedy.
Walking in today they were extremely busy but the lady at the front didn’t look frantic at all, expected with the long line for check-out to be waiting a minute or two to be seated…nope seated right away.
Our waiter “Eric” was beyond amazing! Friendly and welcoming, proactive the entire time before our drinks could get 1/2 empty he was there refilling, everything we needed he delivered either before we could ask or immediate upon request.
I’ve been in Colorado for two years and this is hands down THEE BEST SERVICE I’ve ever gotten since moving to Colorado.
We will for sure come back and you will forever have my loyalty to bring my family for breakfast here when we want to eat out. —Thank you so much!
Had brunch on Sunday. Kyle was our host (seems like he has worked there forever) and he is stellar... Friendly and getting done everything and anything that needs done. Donna was our server, and she had the rare mix of friendly, attentive, accurate... Great food and stellar staff!
Everything we had was great. Service was great. Lovely family diner style place with large menu.
Went in for the second time this week. Our server was Cindy both times. Excellent service! She went above and beyond our expectations! I got the pesto salmon, both times. (Yes, I love salmon!). This time Cindy put the pesto on the side for me without me even asking! I’m watching my weight and I am diabetic, and she caught that in our conversation with out me even telling her! Just little things like that make your day! I highly recommend Black Bear Diner any day!
Regina was amazing! Friendly, attentive and her smile made me smile on a bad day.
We absolutely love Black Bear, and after moving down to this area from Colorado Springs, my husband and I were thrilled to find out that we were just around the corner from this location. HALEY was absolutely wonderful. She was incredibly attentive and kind. She anticipated our needs and made our dining experience incredible. Breakfast is available all day long. My omlette was delicious and more than I could eat in a single sitting. Lexi was amazing, and I hope my next stop their I'll get the privilege of sitting in her section again.

Overdue update from another pleasant visit back on August 7th (2023) in the evening:
It was a nice, warm, and balmy evening, .. and with my two little boys in tow, settled in for a delicious dinner at what is now our favorite location in the chain.
The amazing, incredibly warm, kind, caring, gracious and very accommodating service by our Gracie - our server, made the visit nothing short of stellar.
My two little boys’ endless questions, playful and gleeful curiosity, and huge excitement to say the least, didn’t cause her to miss a beat but she rather embraced it with phenomenal patience, and so warmly and wittingly engaged them making them look forward to every little bit of interaction with her.
Highlighting the best parts of our visit starting with the stellar and impeccable service by Gracie, and great food that always hits the spot, I can certainly say that we’ll become regulars at the Fountain location.
Do check them out especially in Fountain, .. and you’ll leave feeling like you just came from a visit to Nana’s; full in your belly, and showered with love .. haha 😊

I believe this is the second time I’ve dined at this location; for dinner with my little boys - this time.
Really love this location’s sleepy and quiet charm [for lack of a better way to describe it], and it may well be my best Black Bear Diner location in and around the Springs.
Far above that, Megan [who I later learned is also an Assistant Manager towards the end of our visit] is worth a ton of recognition and appreciation.
Not only was her patience, joy, ease, and great ability to help and manage a situation involving me and my little boys’ truly phenomenal, .. it was so evident that she cares about her customers and truly loves people without a doubt.
She went above and beyond to brighten up our evening in the most heartwarming way, after our got accidentally cleared without my consent, .. and despite my constant reassurance didn’t stop apologizing and checking on us even as we left.
Megan is without a doubt a gem and pillar at the Fountain location. A sweet and true servant leader loved by her coworkers and all her regular customers.
Hope Black Bear also goes the extra mile to take great care of her and the rest of the wonderful staff at Fountain 🙏🏽

Nicholette, was wonderful! There was a tables being a little loud behind us and she asked if we were okay. She definitely cared for how we were doing and made sure we had all the right food and everything we needed! Would definitely come here again!
Always good food. Charles is an excellent server. We sat at the counter and got to observe the goings-ons. The manager seems to do a wonderful job. Very involved, very respectful of the kitchen. Seems like an overall great successful operation. Definitely eat here.
My wife and I go there occasionally. We ate there tonight. I had the open faced turkey sandwich and she had a Denver omelet. Our server Cindy was amazing. She was courteous, helpful and a delight to interact with. Amazing service.
