Innovative menu and great staff tucked away along an iconic KY drive. Delicious dishes, full bar offerings and beautiful, cozy decor. Outside dining on a large wrap around porch. Highly recommend!

Don't often give anything 5 stars because there's always room for improvement, but The Stave has got it figured out! This sweet little gem has everything going for it...cute, cozy decor with a chic touch, friendly staff, and some of the most creative interpretations of traditional country cooking I've had in years! Try the Pickle brined Fried chicken and the Roasted Vegetable Salad! Amazing! Great find, won't be a secret for long.

The atmosphere was great... the food was to die for.. and the service was superb. Will definitely go back. My husband had the roast. We were thinking like a pot roast only to get slices of perfectly cooked meat that reminded me of prime rib. I ordered the Coppa and Cabbage and was in heaven. The chops were phenomenal and the rainbow carrots, potatoes, cabbage, onion mix underneath were wonderful.

A hidden gem in Millville near Frankfort. I ate the Hot Brown, which had an interesting twist: cornbread instead of toast on the bottom. Great!

Such a pretty drive to this cute restaurant! I had the black eyed pea fritters and grilled pimento cheese sandwich along with tastes of food off the plates of others in my group and everything was so gooood! Definitely worth the drive from Lexington!

Larry and I tried The Stave today as a treat after his great doctor's report. Loved it! Very cute, comfy, yet classy little place! Food was delicious! Service was great! I had the pork and beans (don't even think Bush's beans) , and he had the burgoo and cast iron skillet cornbread (just the way we like it)!! And, oh yes, bread pudding with bourbon sauce was perfect!!Wonderful and innovative variations of traditional dishes! Beautiful setting in the country with indoor and outdoor seating on the porch! This will be a very busy place! Met the owner...she is awesome! Can't wait to go back and try another dish.

Just ate there. We got the fried pimento cheese grits sticks with two dipping sauces. They were great. Our entrees were hamburger and the country ham salad. The salad was all very fresh and wonderful. I highly recommend The Stave.

Absolutely delicious southern food & fantastic cocktails to match. We had a large variety of the menu options and not one disappointment! Will definitely be coming back on our next visit to Kentucky.

The service was really exceptional, there were friendly faces all around. This is a great spot to get any of the bourbons you may not have been able to sample on your distillery tours. The catfish and grits was a masterclass in “elevated Appalachia” style cuisine. The only negative mark against The Stave was the abundance of flies buzzing around inside.

We stumbled onto this place. But make reservations because we got lucky. One of the best meals we had on our bourbon adventure. The waitress was incredible and the food was out of this world. The drinks strong and the spot was clean and just overall amazing. I will be back to try some other things. My husband said the biscuits were so light and fluffy. Go just go it was fabulous.

They make really good food in a really small kitchen. So good we went back for lunch during the same trip. Stave burger and Fritters were amazing. Cannot go wrong. Lunch was so good I ate everything before I took a photo.

Definitely a hidden gem off the beaten path that is a must go to! The service was full of history of the state mixed in with the largest list of bourbon 🥃! Alley was our server and deserves a raise on the spot! Bar none I will be back and recommend you stop by for a plate. Thank you all for a great night of food, friends and bourbon 🥃

Right from the beginning, the hostess welcomed us with a smile after checking whether we had reservations or not. She made polite conversation even after we were seated. Our server, Ashlynn (sp?), was also very warm and engaging. My wife tried their signature Burnt Orange Old Fashioned while I had a bourbon flight. They have an extensive bourbon list depending on your taste and wallet. We both had the blackened catfish with grits and greens. Very flavorful and good portion size. The only negative for me was the cost relative to the area. Our entrees were $25 each and drinks were $13 and $12. The Stave is a diamond in the rough, but it doesn’t necessarily need to be priced like one.

Love everything about this place! Food, drinks & service are all top notch. The location is off the beaten path but it's part of the experience. We'll go here every time we're in the area! Black walnut chocolate bread pudding.

Great atmosphere, loved the creekside setting. Had brunch and it was fantastic. Huge, fluffy biscuits with tasty gravy, very good bacon, and crisp potatoes.
