Went to FoodE for the first time last night and it was 5 stars all around! Stephanie, our waitress, was extremely knowledgeable about the menu & truly enhanced our dining experience. The manager, Jake, also was terrific - stopping at our table & making us feel much more like guests than customers. Very cool location & I loved the decor - could write a whole other rave review of the decor on its own! Now the food - the food was incredible! I had the pimento cheese toast - yum! My hubby had the wings & I'll just say this - I didn't get a single bite but they smelled incredible. We were going to order 2 entrees & share but I didn't want to give up more than one bite of my short ribs & my husband enjoyed the wood-grilled bank burger. The collard slaw, which was on the short ribs, was the best slaw I have ever eaten - it was fabulous!!! The "meat-juice marmalade", my name not theirs, that was around the short ribs was delicious & I didn't leave a drop on my plate. The russet-turnip purée was the perfect bed for all this deliciousness. Took home a few leftovers & & can't wait to enjoy them! Listen - ignore the negative reviews & go to FoodE! You will not be disappointed!

My family and I have been to FoodE a few times and have never been disappointed! Very friendly and personable staff, charming atmosphere, and fabulous food! I highly recommend the shrimp and grits - it was excellent! The price points accurately reflect the quality and quantity of food served. Zero complaints �

I was in Fredericksburg on a rainy Tuesday for Historic Garden Week and popped into Foode for a bit to eat before getting back on the road. Was happy to sit at the bar because I could take the whole restaurant in as I enjoyed my hot tea and shaved steak sandwich. What a great atmosphere coupled with a tasty meal and attentive service. As I said, the chef made the sandwich with a healthy portion of summer squash, zucchini, and kale smothered in sharp white cheddar, wonderful.
