Was in a hurry to catch a fairy but they where quick friendly and the food was amazing I had the combo special which consisted of two pieces of fish fried clams and fried scallops topped off with a handful of freshly cut french fries by far the best fish and chips iv had in years the wife had clam chowder in a bread bowl with a side of Caesar salad both meals where outstanding would highly recommend this place
Great food and the staff was friendly! Food was awesome! To bad they are selling it! I would buy it if I could!
We had breakfast and it was great! The eggs Benedict was awesome and the kids loved their pancakes and waffles. My daughter left her beloved stuffed friend behind. Stacey the owner has the biggest heart and found Goldy and rushed him home to a very happy girl. We can’t wait to go back to say thank you!!
Get the fish and chips! Great food and great service. And- much to the delight of my children- free lemonade refills.
Excellent service. Large quality breakfast. We will eat there again.
I do not get to Friday Harbor often. Most of the time it's for work. But when I do I always make time for a consistently tasty breakfast. It's great home style cooking. You'll kove it too. Oh! It's also a fair amount of foods for you buck. 😋

A must on any visit to Friday Harbor! The clam is fabulous!
We were in search of a location for lunch and we saw famous fish and chips in the window. We have an amazing quick lunch. Very tasty and quick service. Recommend for a fast lunch and great feel on the inside. Betty Boop and Route 66 theme.
We had an excellent late lunch at the hungry clam. 🐚The owner was very kind and even though they were closing he was willing to cook us a 3-piece fish and chip meal and give us a complementary lavender beverage. Definitely one of the best experiences on the island! 😀
They are on the corner just above the ferry automobile wait area and a couple of the tables look directly at the lot and you could also see if a ferry was docked or not. Our table had an AC outlet within reach for convenient charging of devices while you ate.
It was unique to find a "diner" with fresh cut frys and hard ice cream shakes that could also excel in typical fish & chips restaurant items. My wife had the fried prawns and really liked how light the tempura batter was. The battered fish I had (fish & chips) was light and flakey. Nothing was overfried or heavy with oil. Note the only shakes using actual fruit are raspberry and blackberry.
The restaurant is actually for sale and it appears they are working hard to build value by showing how great their food is before it gets handed off to another owner. August 26, 2018.
Love, love, love. So yummy. So filling. The owner Stacey is a genuine and wonderful individual. Amazing experience!
Location to the ferry is great! Service has always been pleasant!
A great low key place to grab a bite to eat.
Went here for breakfast on a Saturday morning. It was very good! I got the blueberry pancake meal and my friend got a breakfast sandwich. Everything was cooked well and was tasty. We got there around 8am and were able to sit at the bar. The restaurant filled up quickly. Service was a little slow because they were so busy. Don't go expecting to be in and out quickly. Has a quirky, 50s diner feel to it. We were pleased with our visit.
This was a great place. Our first dinner on the island during a 5 night stay and this place set the bar high. Fish and chips were great, and the fried scallops were to die for! So moist and cooked perfectly. Waitstaff were great and very friendly to our 4yo son. We felt at home.
We took a day trip up whale watch up through the San Juan Islands from Port Townsend and had a stop off at Friday Harbor. While I was here this restaurant caught my eye as my family was walking into another restaurant. I decided to walk up and try the Hungry Clam instead. It was well worth it. I ordered a cup of Clam Chowder and the three piece fish and chips. Man the Clam chowder was delicious. It has a unique taste that really sets off the creamy broth. The fish and chips were also delicious. This was a killer deal too. The pieces were huge and perfectly cooked. The price was the best part. For the size of the fish I would expect a far heftier price tag. The Hungry Clam is a must if you visit Friday Harbor.
Loved the atmosphere, view and food, so good <3 good to visit even if you dont stay in friday harbor
After waiting over an hour for Cynthia's to bring us our food, we left and came here. Within 20 minutes of walking in the door we had our food with very friendly service! The food was amazing and the chef ran a right kitchen. Highly recommend, the Benedict was SO good
Charming dîner, friendly service, good éditer eats, loved the corner window seating.
Very good service, friendly people. We were party of 10, they were very patient with us and made us feel home. Retro Stle, very small place.
Restroom is only after long line, just one available. Outside seating is better.
Only for beers on the tap, But Good beers.
We ordered, oysters sandwich, chicken sandwich, garden burger, fries, sweet potato fries, the best, calamari basket, Mac n cheese (not so good).
Not so great Fish n Chips, try other stuffs mentioned above.
I had the fish and chips. It was fantastic. The server seemed slightly irritated (but she was also alone at lunch hour) yet still friendly enough. She accidently charged me 20 instead of the full amount of the ticket, then charged me the full amount of the ticket with the 20 to be refunded on my debit card. Irritating but fine in the end. Cool atmosphere. Would definitely go again.
Amazingly extensive menu for such a small place. Everything I've tried has been really tasty. Super nice people. Special kudos to Samantha. My brother visiting from out of state dropped a substantial amount of cash on the counter and didn't realize until on the ferry. We figured it was lost but my wife convinced him to call. Samantha remembered him, told us it was even more than he thought he'd lost, and had it for me to pick up next time I visited. She's a keeper, Hungry Clam!
