Overall, my experience here was quite pleasant and it’s likely I’ll be dining here again. Today I had gotten the “Katsudon”, which I was very pleased with. There were good portions as I was nearly full, although I’d say the soup is slightly too salty for me, but it didn’t affect my dining experience much. The waiters here were welcoming and checked up several times to see if we needed anything, while greeting my family with kind attitudes. Additionally, I’d also like to say there was a nice ambiance with an overall appealing style to the restaurant, and the prices were reasonable. All these factors allowed me to enjoy my time here, so keep up the good work!
Ramen was pretty good, but not amazing. I got Nagasaki Seafood ramen. There was a lot of seafood and squid, but it felt like the medley of seafood and vegetables was really random. It felt more like seafood noodle soup than a ramen bowl. The soup was also really hot. It burned my tongue. The seasoning was good, but I felt that the soup was too salty.
I got the miso bowl a different day. The miso bowl is a more normal ramen bowl. I wasn't too fond of the noodle with it. This place does not make their own noodles. The pork meat was also a little cold. they didn't warm it enough after taking it out of the fridge.
Portion size is big, and customer service is good. Soup on the salty side. Overall good, but not the best.
Best ramen 🍜 I’ve had in the long time!
Broth was thick and flavorful and spice was just right. Definitely coming back for more!
Menu has great selection and variety! *chefs kiss*
Oh and the prices were good & definitely worth every penny!
We were in the mood for ramen, and it was our first time trying this restaurant. The drinks and food were delicious! We ordered fried dumplings and spicy fries as appetizers and each had a bowl of ramen. Pictured is my spicy kimchi ramen. Staff was attentive and restaurant (and restrooms!) were clean.
Yessss. Everything was delicious!!
Get the garlic chips to put in your Ramen. Our uber driver told us that tip and they were slammin.
We had Hakata ramen on a Sunday dinner time 6pm and it wasn't busy at all that day. Staffs are nice! Ramen is pretty good, a bit of heavy garlic oil in the ramen but that's the Umami! The noodles thickness matched with the soup, pork and eggs are very well marinated, you can tell they took their time to prepare everything. Will definitely come back!
The Tonkotsu broth was great, the spicy version was just the perfect spice level. The Japanese Style fries were a fun change and the fish flakes dance when they are served.
Food tour around the new neighbourhood continues...
Was very much looking forward to have ramen the first few nights in DFW, and this gem was nearby.
The restaurant was lively, the menu choice was good, and it was quite traditional in that there were mangas to read while waiting for food. Also there were many "side dishes" to choose from so we picked rice, corn and chicken for our kid.
The ramens themselves: 1) soup, 2) noodles and 3) toppings.
I would rank them 3 > 1 > 2.
The toppings were quite generous, and the pork bellies were thick cuts. The tonkotsu soup was legit, could taste the pork bones and how solid it was, and the yuzu shio soup was so good we had to take some one, as we could really taste and smell the citrusy flavour. Noodle-wise it wasn't the strongest in terms of chewability, but that's not their forte anyway.
Unfortunately had to knock a star down because the much-anticipated fried squid came out to be suboptimal/weird(?), why would they have two colours? Did they re-fry some old leftover ones or the new ones didn't sit in the hot oil long enough?
Will definitely go back again for tsukemen next time! Thanks Ramen Hakata!
