Reviews La Madeleine

This was my first time going to the Downtown Crown in Gaithersburg, MD. It was a very nice area. La Madeleine is off a made street and easy to spot. If you cannot find street parking, there is parking in the rear of the restaurant. I took my daughter here for brunch. You order your food at the counter and take a number to place on your table. The young lady that took our order was very nice. We both ordered the Country French Breakfast, which consisted of two eggs cooked-to-order (we chose scrambled), Potato Galette, bacon or sausage (we got bacon) and a butter croissant. The chef brought our food out to the table and said bon appetit. Which was pretty cool since we were in a French restaurant. The food was delicious. The eggs were flavorful. It was my first time having a Potato Galette. It was like jazzed up hash browns or a latke. The bacon was cooked crispy like I like it and the croissant was buttery and soft. I highly recommend this location.

Wow, what a great spot to relax and savor a morning coffee! 🤤 I recently visited this place for the first time and was impressed by the exceptional customer service and helpful suggestions for newcomers. A special shoutout to BABA for the excellent coffee recommendations! I definitely plan on returning to explore more items on their menu. Thank you for a fantastic experience! 🙏

I love having this bakery in my neighborhood and their food is quite good, but I visit it much less than I would like to due to the service problems. Even doing something simple like buying bread takes 10 minutes, and if there is a line of people ordering full meals in front of you at the single register your wait will be much longer. I have now walked out three times because I just could not spend 20 or more minutes to buy a baguette or a pastry. I really hope management addresses this problem as I love having a nice bakery within walking distance. I am sure this location would easily double its business if management just addressed this basic problem.

My favorite breakfast/brunch place in Montgomery county. Food here is consistently delicious and generously portioned. Staff are courteous and helpful. It’s clean and has a rustic country environment. A great place to meet up friends.

A nice casual hangout spot. The art of the drinks is subpar, and the atmosphere is busier than other cafes than I'd like, but overall, it was still a good cafe to hang out around.

The food was deliciously French, the desserts were tempting enough to want to buy one of each, and no stuffy French servers! It is a casual, charming cafe! Only thing missing was French wine to go with all that wonderful French food!

Attractive tasty treats. Authentic french pastries. Good verity. Wasn’t to busy but only had one employee doing carryout and web orders. Though I was greeted and wasn’t in a hurry.

This is a great spot if you’re looking for breakfast, coffee and pastries. The service is very quick and they bring your food out promptly the restaurant is also very spacious which was great. I ordered a custom made omelet with a buttery croissant both were very delicious. I did not try any of the pastries this time but they looked so good. I will be back soon.

I was here 2 yrs ago at La Madeleine for a beautiful and amazing solo breakfast and I know I wrote a review(can’t find it)for this lovely place. The place, interior, and plates are so beautiful. I stopped by 12Dec.2021 and picked up a couple treats for my evening snacks. Today this place was jumpin’ more than usual. The cashier and the bake staff had the line moving swiftly. The food and treats are made fresh, magnificent, and delectable. Always wonderful to stop in or sit for a bit.

la Madeleine is a refreshing cafe, I had forgotten how nice their plates and interior design are. I remember the wooden interiors with spinning water wheels and the warm feeling of a rustic French hearth. This new bakery in Downtown Crown completes a great variety of shops along the grass common space with outdoor seating. I'll now remember the desserts and coffees when my sweet tooth demands satisfaction! The young women making coffees today had great energy and an impressive way with the cafe. My caramel macchiato was excellent.

Delightful place for breakfast. My kid had a croissant and a cherry Danish for the first time and love them! Reasonably priced, yummy food. Pastries are wonderful! We'd come back!

The cappuccino is delicious along with the eggs. The avocado toast is on a buttery brioche type of bread. Was wishing it was a little more like French bread. The staff were friendly and they have outside seating!

Love this restaurant. They need more hired help at the front, especially on known high traffic days, such as Sunday mornings. Can be a long wait to order with only one cashier. Manager wants too long to help out.
