We had outstanding service and food. Our waiter was Cameron, and he recommended some really great dishes that we could have overlooked. The classic ceviche was perfectly executed. The Churrasco was also as a standing, perfectly cooked. The crispy brussels sprouts had a little bit of heat, but not too too much. I’d definitely go back!

I really enjoyed this tapa place. It has a small bar and cozy dining room. The service was excellent and the staff were friendly. The owner checked in on us, too. We had a shrimp dish that was amazing...the sauce was fantastic and small ciabattas were provided to dip it. The steak was a little tough but the flavor was good especially with the mashed potatoes that came with. We were a party for 2 and split the two dishes and were full, yet split the small chocolate mousse for dessert. Although the mousse price was quite steep, it was rich and lovely. It was so good that one of us ordered a mousse to go. We couldn't eat a second dessert so a tres leches cake was taken to go, as well. I wish I would have taken photos of the food. I only took a photo of the mousse after opening it. I will definitely be dining here again so I'll have to take pics and add them to this review at some point. This place is a gem!

Boca Botanas is a small hidden spot in Germantown, MD. They serve Latin American food tapas style. My cousin and I were there recently for Happy Hour. HH is Tuesday-Friday from 4:00p.m. - 7:00p.m. (Verify before you go in case there is a change). Our server was Hessly, who was great! She helped us narrow down or selections. From the HH menu, we ordered the Elote Locos Nachos, Pulled Chicken Tostones, Margarita and a red Sangria. From the regular menu, we ordered the Seafood Paella. Our total bill including tax was $71. The Nachos and the Paella were absolutely delicious. When ordering, keep in mind that the food is portions are small; however, start with a few items and add more if need be. I will definitely be back.

Looking for great tapas with a great atmosphere, great friendly staff stop by here. The food is absolutely fantastic, the drinks are great too (clearly). We we amazed by the variety of meat on the platter. Various flavors along with the perfectly cooked yuca with Brussel sprouts and carrots. Absolutely a must try place, will definitely continue to spread the word and will be back here. The only problem if it was one is they don’t have any other locations yet. But I understand they are exploring that option. Can’t wait to see if they do.

Must tries: (trust me on this) 👌 Churrasco Bacon wrapped dates Seafood Paella (large portion) Lomo Saltado (regular size portion) Gambas Al Ajillo Buffalo Cauliflower Arepa Con Queso (3 arepas) Grilled Short rib soup (large plate) Aguachile Ceviche All plates are tapas style and meant for sharing. I would recommend you order 2-3 dishes to start out with for a party of 2 and go from there. You won't be disappointed 🔥✨ Oh and for drinks, if you like it fruity, get the Mamacita for a little passion fruit in your life 🤌 Yum! One of my favorite places! The food is always delicious and the service is wonderful! The staff will make you feel at home and the recommendations for food and drinks are always on point! I try something new almost every time and I've never been disappointed! My favorites are the ceviche aguachile, the seafood paella and OMG the grilled short rib soup! Seriously just go and try them! 5 stars every single time!

Calamari is very different than Italian style, deep fried with coconut. Scallops is normal, but the potato salad underneath is amazing! Very tasty. They have happy hours.

This is a very nice and small South America and Spanish restaurant. Located in a Hispanic neighborhood and shopping center. It's small but cozy with a good view. It's choice of Spanish tapas was great. The BACON WRAPPED DATES was surprisingly good. We went there because not many restaurants around make the Brazilian national drink Caipirinha. The drink looked classy with a slice of darkened lemon but the taste was just all right. The IBERICO CHORIZO PAELLA and seafood patella were good but the size were not as large with $36 and $32 each, little pricey. Although we may ordered a little more than usual, the price tag was about $65 per person.

Came here on a Tuesday, didn't know it was taco Tuesday and ordered the Ropa vieja tacos. They are to die for! The Mamacita drink was delicious and the service was excellent. Maria and another bar tender were on point and the food came out hot. Also, their home-made sauces give a nice kick to these dishes. Boca Botana you have created a fan!

My favorite tapas place in the area ! Super friendly staff and management. Things I would recommend are the gambas al ajillo, empanadas, churrasco and quinoa crusted shrimp. And don’t end the night without a sweet! My favorite is the chocolate mousse cake! *chefs kiss*

Hiding gem in a small shopping center. Food was delicious, we couldn’t decide at first what to order so we did order 5-6 different tapas/botanas. The food came fairly quick. We were pleasantly surprise of not only the presentation but the flavors of each dish. It was like traveling around the world through these dishes. Drinks are also delicious. My husband tried a sangria while I went for a campirinha.

Fantastic food! Tried a few dishes which were all amazing. The shrimp and chrizo was my favorite. Patatas and kick-ass salmon were also some of the favorites. Dessert tres leches and pineapple on fire were the favorites. Definitely will be coming back.

Such good food. The elote nachos are really good. My only complaint would be there could be more elote under the top chips. The avocado ceviche was the best! Enjoyed the plantains in it too. The yuca fries were not good. They were home fry style and hard. Good yuca is soft and should have been like a potato. The chicken empanada was ok. It was over cooked so the crust was hard and the filling was SO hot. Careful. I liked the arepas. Loved that they were crispy and the sauce that came with it complimented it well. Happy hour drinks were good too. They brought sauces to the table but didn’t explain so we left them alone. We weren’t sure what they were for. Curious enough to come back and try other items on the menu.

March 4, 2022: I visited Boca Botana for the first time in 2017. I hace not been there since, and since everything is now opening up again, I decided to give it a try. They have now the obligatory QR code menu (printed menus are now conveniently a thing of the past everywhere), and the have kept their tapas happy hour, but unfortunately it is only from Mon-Thurs 4:00-6:00pm,and I was three on a Friday. I went ahead with having some drinks and some food to go along with it but from the full price menu. I ordered the Mexican chorizo tacos and the tostones (fried green plantains) topped with shredded chicken and shredded beef ("ropa vieja" or "old clothes") and a passionfruit margarita. Everything arrived freshly made and hot, except of course the margarita! The tapas are served with at least 4 sauces, none of the super spicy hot, all delicious. The passionfruit margarita was a refreshing surprise with fresh thyme, and unusual flavor combination that I loved. The three chorizo mini tacos were mildly spicy but well seasoned. But my favorite were the tostones! So much so that I had two orders, one of chicken and one of ropa vieja. Everything was pretty delicious! At the end I was paying and there was some confusion about my Amex credit card payment (their card payment station was misbehaving) but got resolved. The manager was incredibly nice; he treated me to a complimentary 12 year Dalmore on the rocks and a shot of "green tea", which was awesome. Overall the service was friendly, attentive and courteous. I was sitting at the bar and had a great time. Boca Botana Bar did not disappoint! 2017 Review: Delicious Spanish and Latin American influenced tapas and small plates. I tried the pupusas, tostones with chicken, and chorizo tacos, all excellent. Très léchés dessert could be improved. Good selection of mostly Spanish red and white wines. Happy hour M-F from opening to 7pm has a good selection of tapas, with generous portions. Ample parking, friendly young staff that really took care of me at the bar (we even discussed the merits of our favorite movies!)

I've ate there twice now and both of the main dishes I've tried are fantastic! I'm going back again tomorrow for dinner to further explore the menu. Looking forward to it.
