This is a wonderful low-key spot for well priced and well made tacos. The parking lot is a bit sketchy to get in and out of, but the food and great service are worth it. My favorite items to order from here are the pescado tacos and the mango aqua fresca. The fish is delicious and crispy, the pickled cabbage they add is a great touch. All in all, a great place for a quick snack or a meal with friends.

I was in the general area and had a feeling for tacos, so I landed at Ixtapalapa Taqueria. This Mexican eatery offers authentic tacos (sudadera, cochinita pibil, lengua, etc.) but also many other Mexican dishes, like esquites, pozole, etc. You place your order at the cashier, and a server brings it to you. I ordered a mango agua fresca which i found a little bit too sweet for my taste. I also ordered esquites (Mexican white corn with mayo and cotija cheese) which were not bad, but needed more epazote. I also ordered three tacos (sudadera, cochinita pibil and lengua). The tacos were authentic, served on double corn tortillas and dressed with raw chopped onion and cilantro. The server brought three sauces, which were not particularly good (green tomatillo, red chile and a third undetermined one). The service was a little slow, but this was a Sunday and the place was pretty busy. The decor is very modest, with wooden benches, but very clean. I may have to visit this establishment once more to get a second opinion!

Fun Tequilas &Mexican tacos place! Colorful condiments(yellow~sweet/sour, green~refreshing, red~spicy) enhanced authentic flavors, savory bites& satisfying spirits! Better checkout order’s matching at the table, they do have high volume of takeouts.

A Hidden Gem in Gaithersburg - Ixtapalapa Taqueria Ixtapalapa Taqueria in Gaithersburg, MD, is a hidden gem in the DMV area. Run by the same owner as Tacos el Guero, you know you're in for a treat. I tried the Tacos de Cochinita and Tacos de Cachete, both bursting with flavor. The Esquites and grilled Jalapeño sides were delicious. I washed it down with a refreshing Horchata. The service and ambiance were top-notch. Ixtapalapa Taqueria is a must-visit for authentic, budget-friendly Mexican cuisine. Can't wait to try more!

Great taqueria! Authentic, family-owned joint. I knew when I looked around and saw the packed place was full of locals enjoying and talking in Spanish that it was not a generic chain taco shop. If you like hot salsas, they have you covered - whew! Of 3 tacos I tried, the steak was the best. Grilled cactus was interesting. The guacamole was fresh.

Omg. Sooooo good. The quesadiila with carne asada was so good, it had us ordering another. The salsas are on point. The customer service and the price point were also 👌. We'd drive an hr to eat here.

Busy. But good. Limited seating and limited parking at peak hours. Long line wait while the dude took phone calls. Double check your orders. Once you get your food, it’s delicious and worth the price.

Awesome taco bar! Food came out quickly, and the staff is friendly. We got carne asada/suadero/pescado/alambre tacos, quesadilla con pollo, guacamole, nopales, Mexican cola, and tres leches cake. Will be back!

Great time! We got chicken and veggie tacos, they were simple but good. Both were satisfying and at a great price! Wish they had more sauce options that were not so spicy but that's personal preference 😆. Also got the mango slushie for $6, expensive but it was a nice cool drink on a warm day and the flavor was so intense! Staff were very polite, seating and tables were clean, great vibes. The bathroom was also clean and had a diaper changing station!

¡Cochinita pibil! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Great concept, decoration, amazing salsas great place, authentic food. The “horchata” is yummier than a Starbucks cold café. We just wished they had reusable glasses as they have reusable plates. Tamarindo was a bit too sweet. Viva Ixtapalapa. ❤️

Excellent local place. We ordered numerous tacos (ribs, pork, beef cheek, tripe, mole and chorizo), beef tostadas and many side dishes. The food was devoured quickly and everyone talked about how good it was for hours afterwards. Very reasonably priced. Definitely going back.

This family friendly traditional restaurant is amazing! The food is authentic and tastes amazing! They also have a huge selection of Mexican drinks. My husband and I tried the tacos & margaritas; so, so good! The restaurant is clean and the staff are friendly. You don’t have to wear a mask for the time being, but the do offer indoor and outdoor seating. The food is extremely inexpensive and the portions are large. I ordered two tacos and barely made it through the first one. This restaurant is great, highly recommend.

This place has been awesome since it opened. The food is always great, the staff are friendly. The tacos are affordable and customers leave happy! Taco places in other parts of MD are quite poor in quality and are super expensive. This place and other taco places in Gaithersburg do a great job at serving great tacos for a reasonable price for everyone to enjoy.

Can’t say enough good things about this place. One of the best/ authentic tacos and Mexican food. The portions are great. The only downside is it’s parking. If you come during a busy time there might be no parking not tables.

Outstanding Authentic Eats. Fast-paced and helpful service. Don’t assume that seating is readily available: I went around 1:30 pm in a Saturday and when I left there was a line in the parking lot. People were waiting to park and the line inside was snaking around the front end of the restaurant! I will say it is worth the wait though!!
