When I'm craving a taco salad, this is my go to place. Although taco salad is not on the menu anymore, you can still get one. Substitute tofu for the meat if you are a Vegetarian like me. The tofu is fried chunks and yummy with queso. Try queso instead of salad dressing.

Simply good Cali-Mex food.
No fancy place, staff are all smiles.
Portions a bit too heavy, so, consider splitting/sharing which is, after all, what families do
Good place for kids.
Don't be afraid to ask for variations on the dishes.
Very nice young lady took my order and provided a bit of small talk. She was delightful and funny. Food was good. Honestly much better than I was expecting from a chain type quick lunch spot. I will stop again when work has me in the area.

California tortilla also known as 'CalTort' is like the rich man's version of Chipotle. That is to say... the more 'financially flexible person's' Chi-Pot-El.
The food here at this California tortilla is on par and consistently delicious with the other two CalTorts those specifically for me are OG Bethesda and Paramount/Gaithersburg.
Which means you get high quality food at high quality food prices. Just saying... love this place.

The Chips & Queso: Light & Crisp chips and salty queso like way to salty (and I am not a 'low sodium anything' type of person, Occasionally, I like to eat salt bagels, salted butter soft pretzels and salt vinegar chips dipped in yellow mustard). So I mix the queso with a can of HoreMel Chili (no beans) for a Fantastic Chili-Chese dip. I love this place, Just saying.
One of the two advantages this Gaithersburg (QO & 28) establishment has over PARAMOUNT is the closing Time Monday through Saturday 10 p.m. Sunday 9 p.m. that's definitely a plus. The second is a dedicated restroom. That's another reason why I love this place.
This Cal-Tor is one of the best ones around. Its hard to compete with Chiptole but their burritos are very tasty and give you some much needed variety.
Also, their wall of hot sauces cannot be beat!
If you're looking for a quick and healthy meal for the entire family, you'll enjoy coming here. They don't have a huge menu, but you can customize anything on it.
The food is fresh, the staff usually very friendly and helpful and they have a membership card that allows you to earn free offers towards your next order
It got a little boring after our 3rd take out, but that's just me. And we still get take out regularly when it's been a long day and we want something fresh, healthy and filling. Plus, they always made a real effort to correct any mistakes in our orders..
The dining room was clean. The food was good and to temperature. The hot sauces were a bit more disorganized than usual and the service was a little slower than usual. Staff was pleasant.
Good quality. Great flavors. Friendly and helpful staff. The staff at this location are always great. They are chatting and having a good time. The restaurant is kept neat and clean and well stocked. I like this location the most.
California Tortilla is on heavy rotation at our house for takeout. It is always fast, fresh and delicious. We are family of 5 with 2 very picky eaters and everyone can always agree on California Tortilla. That alone is practically a miracle! I especially love the street tacos and the chips and queso.
California Tortilla is a reliable, good and quick (also pretty affordable) Mexican option for excellent burritos. They always have unique and interesting items on their menu - burritos made like you couldn’t even imagine. I highly recommend California Tortilla to anyone who’s never been there before.
Good for what it is. Don't expect anything fancy. One of the employees (don't know her name) is amazing and always looking for ways to make the patrons' experience a good one - above-and-beyond her job description.
