This is one of my favorite places to visit.
Every one of the staff are so kind and just great people. I walk in and they already know what I want.
The food is delicious! I definitely suggest the macaroni… you can tell a lot about a restaurant with delish macaroni.
Very attentive wait staff; went there on a Saturday for lunch and it wasn’t busy. No wait which was nice. Got the crab tower, pickle, spears, and stuffed blackened flounder. Enjoyed all of the options- crab tower was probably the favorite. Very cheap happy hour drinks even during the weekend. Can’t go wrong with a $5 cocktail or glass of wine. Didn’t try the desserts, but they had a display case and they looked amazing.
Do not order hummus. It is $9. 6 bites of bread, 2 cucumber slices. My child asked for a few more slices of cucumber & the server said it would be additional. My child had $2 ready when she advised her it was $2.17. It wasn't good, just ate cuz $9. Sides are extra. Ordered baked potato $7. Bring your own load. 3 bits of green onion, 4 bits of bacon, 1 tablespoon cheese. It was good just pass on the side dishes. They did bring my kid a piece of bread & stated it was on the house. No! It was 9 bucks. Order at counter with tip & then they bring your order. I would only go back if it was the only thing open. I am sure there is something to order worth the $ as long as you stay away from these sides. Do NOT order hummus! The atmosphere is pleasant. I don't like posting bad things, just save your $ on sides. Everything is Xtra.
This place was indeed amazing. Everyone seem to really enjoy their food but I got the roasted sesame salmon and it was amazing the vegetables and rice that came with it was cooked just right. But my favorite thing that just tied the whole meal together was the sauce. I could not have asked for a better experience. The service was amazing they are very friendly. Wasn’t a lot of tourists which was nice. The owner came over and talked to us for a little which was lovely. Overall I had a wonderful experience and will definitely go back
This place was fantastic. Possibly the best service I’ve seen on the island. The food was absolutely incredible and surprisingly varied! Huge portions for so cheap. I will have to come back again.
It was kind of hot in there. The food was amazing and so fresh n clean ! I had the Cajun stuffed Flounder, with rice pilaf, and a creamy garlic butter sauce and some fresh green beans ! Also had Ceviche , which was amazing as well! And crab cakes!
The plates do not come with sides. You have to order them separately, and are a little pricey. Unless you order from the daily special, which is a full plate with sides.

To have a seafood restaurant in a place like Galveston means you better deliver with food and service. The restaurant choices are plentiful and the competition is fierce. Coastal Grill delivers with a nice comfortable setting. It’s roomy and has a nautical feeling with a fully stocked bar. In fact, their happy hour starting at 11 in the morning is quite generous. You come to a seafood restaurant in Texas for essentially two things, shrimp and fish. Well, I ordered the combo to sample both. The shrimp was meaty and delicious and the fish ( sort of cornmeal battered whitefish) was equally delicious. Both were made to order and served hot. My only complaint with the Coastal Grill is charging charging four dollars for my side fries. My goodness there should be some side that comes with a meal such as that.
So, in essence, add four or five dollars to all the menu prices to make it comparable to most every other restaurant on planet earth. All in all, the food was delicious. It was conveniently located on the quiet end of the Strand. Parking was available and the service was impeccable. Other than them charging for any side, I can recommend this restaurant wholeheartedly.

STOP SEARCHING! 🛑 You found the restaurant you want to eat right here! All around best experience. Arrived a bit late with a party of 5 and we were the last group left after hours. The staff was so tentative, polite and professional. Always making sure our glasses were full. Even happily put an order in for us after hours to-go. The food is AMAZING. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms, thank goodness we got two orders! The Scallops were full of flavor, they didn’t last long, I can honestly say they are better than what we had at Sir Gordon Ramsey’s Las Vegas Hells Kitchen (I said what I said) 😋. The blackened fish was so juicy and tasteful! The Surf & Turf is worth every dollar. The steak was so tender and melts in your mouth. They are generous with portions! The menu has kid friendly choices. If you get the fries get two orders… because they are that good. You can tell with presentation and taste that they put love in every dish! Awesome place to eat. Friendly staff and fresh food with extremely hygiene dining area. Ample parking!
Ceviche was gorgeous! Blackened salmon 10/10! Cole slaw and green beans were family sized, But not included in the salmon entree. Fajitas on the lunch was a large portion. Lunch was a little pricey but it was worth it!
Just an excellent place in the city! Everything is super tasty and look like in a magazine!
The tastes are balanced and their prices are good!

The system they have is a bit confusing of you're there for the first time but the waiters tell you what to do. They give you a table and offer you drinks, then you get to a register to order your food and it's delivered to your table. I found this a bit "informal"for the price of the food which is usually seen more in a totally " seat down service" place. One thing I noticed is that as waiters they had a great way of working together. They all ran across the room serving tables regardless of who took the initial order. Food came out quickly and everyone was happy. We were a party of 7
Delicious food shrimp were awesome. The lobster tail and steak were awesome.

You sit down then walk up to order. It works out great and was very kid friendly. We have a 9 month old and they took care of us.

Large portions, fresh seafood and decent prices! You order at the counter then go sit and wait for your meal. The restrooms were very clean. The staff was very friendly. The shrimp poboy was huge and delicious. The mango avocado tuna tower was so fresh and tasty. If you’re looking for fresh fish and a casual meal this is the spot!
Great little hidden spot for delicious seafood & drinks. We love that their is NEVER a wait or a huge crowd. You order at the counter, but don't let that fool you. The servers are very attentive. Always great new specials. We try something different every time. Everyone is friendly & food is always delicious.
Based on the outside & neighborhood I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was more than pleasantly surprised. The food was amazing and fresh. (Crawfish tails, chicken pita, shrimp tacos, chicken strips, fried shrimp) The entire restaurant was so clean and everyone we spoke to was so helpful and friendly. My kids finished their meals (rarely happens) and we had plenty of space to spread out. We will definitely be back often. So glad to find this place!
Yum! Fried pickle spears are great. Filet Mignon Steak special and Cajun Stuffed Snapper.
I absolutely loved lunch at Coastal Grill the other day. Located a few blocks from the Strand, this is a great option if you’re looking to get away from the crowds. The atmosphere is coastal with plenty of seating. This would be great for a larger group. I loved the variety on the menu - lots of options from pizza to tacos to daily specials like a Monte Cristina sandwich and sausage gumbo. The food was freshly prepared and flavorful. It is counter- service so be prepared if you were expecting table-service. A great option for a variety of cuisines.
