First when you walk in you know this is going to be a good place. The bar is lovely! The ambiance is very close to perfect! The waiter fit right in the place and I am sorry I don’t remember his name! Shame on me! I am deadly allergic to shellfish and this is a concern of mine especially when it comes to a place that serves mussels the way they do! I didn’t eat but they looked amazing. I started with the gnocchi appetizer and it was absolutely great. I don’t like goat cheese but I went with it and I loved it. I went for the chicken dish and everyone at the table was like don’t do the “chicken” they said why chicken in a place like this and I went for it anyways and it was so delicious!! The waiter said “it’s not just chicken” and he was so right. For dessert lol oh my god!!!! The chocolate mousse was ridiculous ....words could not describe how yummy it truly was. My family owns a restaurant and when I go out I go to enjoy myself. From beginning to end it was above what I was expected. Thanks for a good night and thanks to the waiter that made me feel comfortable about eating there knowing that their specialty are mussels. 5 stars well deserved

Visited 3 places for L.I. Restaurant Week. Waterzooi is so amazing. The Escargot is better than the several I had in Paris! Love Potion cocktail with the flower in the ice cube is so delish. The filet of sole entree is a big portion and so very tasty. The ambiance is lively and service is great. What a delightful neighborhood find. Can't wait to return!!

First time trying mussels & in a lobster bisque...YUM! Three of us shared 1 pot & the lobster was in it straight to the bottom of it. Can't wait to go back & try that Lobster Mac & Cheese.

Always great food and service. Mussel pots are the best with the fries and garlic mayo. Homards are my favorite. Never had a bad meal or service there

If you like it spicy, ask for the Hot and Dirty Martini! Excellent lobster bisque, lobster croquettes and Belgian fries. I love the Farmhouse Ale mussels...with bacon....yum. Other favorites are the Homard mussels and Steak Frites. Always good service and pleasant staff! One of our favorites!

Waterzooi will always hold a special place for me. After an absolutely delicious Valentine’s dinner last year (2017), my now-fiancé proposed. When we went back over a month later, we had the same waiter and he remembered us! Not only is the food top-notch, but the atmosphere and service is consistently warm, welcoming, and beyond gracious. The biggest challenge is always deciding what to order because everything sounds amazing and you know it will be executed beautifully. Can’t wait to celebrate Valentines with Waterzooi again this year!

My husband and I tried this place for the first time last night. We are always on the hunt for a good restaurant. This place was superb. We had oysters and their specialty -- mussels. On point! Coming back soon and this time with our kids.

Great Belgian spot in Garden City with delicious seafood and beer selection. The Waterzooi seafood main was amazing and the mussels are a must try! Portions were hearty and we were stuffed! Great spot for seafood lovers.

We had reservations and were told to wait until the everyone had arrived. Part of our party were little children because it was a family dinner and I noticed we kept getting “looks” by the hosts at the podium. Kind of like the oh great they have kids with them looks. This isn’t a bar or a nightclub. It’s a family restaurant at normal dinner time hours. Aside from that initial unfriendly greeting the servers were excellent and the drinks and food were very good.

This place is great. Food + service both fantastic. Everything each of us ordered was great, server was attentive but not overbearing, and everything is priced very fair for the quality (and portion size). The one thing I'd say is that this menu really cries out for an in-depth French wine list, and that's not really present, but other than that, the meal was an absolute A+.

One of my favorite spots. The atmosphere is always top notch, friendly service and delicious food and beverages. Come have a cocktail and share a mussel pot. The bouillabaisse is a favorite and their lobster bisque is one of the best I've had!

Had a wonderful brunch today. Our server Mike C was very attentive. When our French toast with berries was missing blueberries he told the manager Scott who went to the local supermarket to get them for us! Amazing customer service all around! Will definitely be back!

Amazing mussel pots. 2 people can share a pot and appetizer for a meal. Plenty of broth to soak up with bread. Mixed drinks were also good with a good selection of Belgium beers. The mussels are really where they excel. Entrees are 3 star. Not worth it.

Celebrated my 40th Birthday at Waterzooi. Scott, Sarah, and the entire catering team went above and beyond to make sure our every need was taken care of. Such a great place to celebrate a special event. Staff was on top of everything and the food is always delicious! There is something for everyone. And as I told my friends... if you like mussels - GET THE MUSSELS. :)

If you haven't been ... just GO! You will not be dissapointed! Be sure to try their beer. I do recommend reserving table ahead of time, the place gets busy after 6pm. Don't be afraid of big portions, I made linguini pasta the next day and paired with all the seafood and lobster sauce. And OMG what a great care taken with TO GO packages! Amazing! We will be back and soon!

Came here with a friend for brunch. Prices are on the higher end but the food was pretty good. The restaurant wasn't packed or overly loud and we didn't feel rushed. I got the Oregenato Mussel Pot which comes with a side of fries ($32) and crab cocktail ($34). The cognac dijonnaise that comes with the crab cocktail is really good. Oregenato mussel pot was also good, could be shared with 2 people. Since we each got an entree, I couldn't finish the whole mussel pot by myself. Took the other half to go and they packed it really nice in a tray and plastic wrap to prevent leaking. I was actually surprised on how well they packed it. Only thing was that when we got our receipt, they charged us for a dish that another table had ordered so make sure you check the receipt.

I’d give this place 6 stars if I could. The beer selection is absolutely amazing. Mussel pots in different types of soups/stews, burrata appetizers incredible. Eating here pleases all the senses somehow. Makes my mouth water just writing this review.

When looking for a quality meal, you must visit Waterzooi. I have eaten here many times and l have never been disappointed. The food is prepared and presented very well and the staff is attentive. The portions are large. The bouillabaisse with shrimp and lobster was so good, we brought the leftovers home to use the broth. Even the pommes frites are delish with their dressing. It can get a little loud when crowded but the food makes up for it. Pictures are of the bouillabaisse mussel dish, French onion soup (oysters at the top) octopus à la Plancha and escargot.

We have visited for brunch few times. Never disappoints. So many great options on the menu. Of course, the mussels. Nice salads. Varieties of quintessential Eggs Benedict. Great place.

It's a fine restaurant but a bit too crowded and noisy. The food is very good and the service is also decent. I used to go to the Port Washington restaurant and found their food and service exceptional. The Garden City version has a like menu as Port Washington. The staff in Garden City appear more busy and slightly less friendly than I hoped. Overall, a nice place for a special occasion. It's pricey but a fair amount of food for the value.
