Yesterday was my first time visiting Island Poke in Roosevelt Mall. I ordered the Salmon Bowl and it was really good. The server was so delicate in his preparation and I commend him for his care. I plan to visit tomorrow to try another selection.
Just try to walk past the display of super fresh, glorious seafood and other toppings and not order a poke bowl! Mine: spicy tuna. And if you cannot decide which of the signature bowls to try, you can create your own custom bowl. Very healthy and satisfying eating!
First timer! Greeted with a smile by the staff here in Massapequa Park Island Poke. We ordered two large ramens bowls, a wasabi shrimp salad rice bowl with a side of Japanese chicken to go and were delighted with the flavors and the portion size. One word of advice for future first timers, CAREFULLY transfer (pour) your ramen “to go”container into another bowl to eat from. The top layer is all of the noodles and fixings in a basket on top of the broth in the bottom portion of the container. You will not be disappointed :)
I am so happy Mall brought Island Poke to the food court, so I have a healthy and tasty choice. There are a lot of options to choose on their menu. The combinations could be endless, but always stick to my special recipe. I will choose salad and brown rice as my base, tuna, chicken and scallop as my protein, I will mix with classic shoyu, ponzu sauce and spicy, edamame, cilantro, cucumber, sweet onion, scallion, hijiki seaweed,then topped with Kani salad and seaweed salad. Crunches I like the onions crispy sesame seeds. Try that sauce combination. It is AMAZING! I have been here many times, never had a problem. The owner might change the chef, everything taste fresher and better.
Quick service, nice amount of options for protein, toppings, etc. First time trying a Poké bowl. Spicy salmon with Kani salad was delicious! Would go again.
