Good food with a full Honduran and Mexican menu. I wish they had refills on drinks, which they don't. It has pool tables and and the restaurant is located inside of a store with a variety of Latin foods and accessories

Just go! We like to support mom & pop places & this fit the bill. Quaint little place. Enter through the store. Order at the register & take a seat. Yes, the menu is not the standard but that’s why you go. They still have the regulars but definitely other dishes you won’t find at other Mexican joints. When actual Latinos are eating there, that’s a sure sign it’s authentic. Chips & salsa were fresh. Fajitas were hot & juicy. Real home-made tortillas. My husband really liked his enchiladas. Beans were the real deal-darker than other places. Large cups so you don’t have to wait on a refill.

Delicious. The kids loved the beef tacos, the Green Banana with cabbage dish I ate was amazing too.

Cute little hole in the wall place! Looks can be deceiving. The food was good. You can tell they make everything home made, and it comes from love. Great color variety on my plate and the customer service was very nice! I got the steak with peppers and red sauce.

So the building is very humble, but some of the dishes are absolutely amazing and authentic. This is a small Honduran-Mexican menu restaurant (literally a Honduran page and a Mexican page) with a small tienda at the end of Gatlinburg downtown with free parking out front. Of the meals we got, the Beef Soup and the Azada Honduran style were out of this world and worthy of five of five stars. The building is well worn and in need of some renovation, so come for the food and nice servers.

Delicious food!! I tried Honduran Azada Style, and every single bite was full of flavor. They had homemade corn tortillas, which pulled the meal together perfectly. Estrella Hondumex was also very clean and smelled like it was freshly mopped. The customer service was extremely helpful and friendly. Try it out, and you will not regret it. Even my little picky eaters left their plates bare.

Estrella Hondumex is exactly that; a star, a hidden gem, a diamond in the rough. In a town with lots of gimmicks and touristy attractions, this restaurant simply delivers the goods in an unassuming fashion. The food is authentic, reasonably priced and delicious. The people are kind and the atmosphere is laid back and genuine. You can't go wrong!

Loved the food here. Located at the back of the grocery. Order at the counter, then choose your table. I don't think you can go wrong with anything here. We all chose Honduran entrees, and one person chose a Mexican entree. All were fantastic! Got the plantains in cream sauce. Caramelized deliciousness!

Showed them a photo of some delicacies enjoyed while in Honduras and asked if they could replicate them (for a catering order the following day). Sure enough, they produced the exact same food, it was equally delicious, and the portions were HUGE! The chosen menu naturally accommodated our vegetarian and keto eaters’ needs. If you love tortillas, fried plantains, rice and beans, you will love Honduran food, and this place is for you!

Fresh and hot. Not the expensive tourist food like everywhere else in Gatlinburg. This is genuine Mexican and Honduras food.

We stumbled upon a hidden treasure here. This place is a 2 in 1! It has a restaurant and a grocery store. We picked up two meals and they were very tasty and fresh &some snacks like the Takis. The staff was friendly and fast. Would definitely recommend if you’re in the area to try this place out! You won’t regret it. They also have both Honduran and Mexican food. You can taste the different spices used between the two types of dishes.

This is definitely a very small, homey kind of place, and you order at the counter in the middle of the little grocery store, but the food was extremely good. I got steak tacos with beans and rice on the side, and it was some of the best I've had. It was a bit pricey though. I paid $12.50 for lunch not including a drink.

The chicken taco salad was delicious! I don't know what they add but that cream was fantastic! I loved it! However, the carne asada wasn't that great. It was good but nothing amazing about it.

MUST STOP even if you only get the chips and salsa. Not your typical salsa but so good. I got the three enchilada plate they let me get one beef one chicken one cheese with no problem the cheese one surprisingly had sauteed vegetables. It's not text Max which I actually anticipated but was very pleased with what I got.

Decided to stop by after looking for unique dinning experiences. Seriously amazing food, so fresh, authentic and just overall lovely service. Probably the best food you’ll find in Gatlinburg to dodge the tourism. So yummy .
