I love Tao Too Asian Eatery! One of my most favorite eating places in Germantown. Often meet with friends at Tao Too Asian Eatery for lunch and dinner. The food is always exceptional...always hot and fresh. Absolutely love the Hot and Sour soup. And if you are a soup lover, I don't know of another place that has bowls of entree soups the size of theirs! The staff is always extremely friendly. Love the additional seating area they have added. Tao Too Asian Eatery is my go
to place for Asian cuisine!
Nice people and always great service. Food is wonderful and always fresh

I've actually never been there, but I soooo love Asian foods that I will definitely check it out if I ever get into Germantown.

First time dinner and was very happy with the service, speed and quality of food. Great job.
Thai Tom Kha Kai Soup & Summer Rolls. Thank me later.
It was the best food ever and the Service was grate. My favorite is the Spring rolls and beef and Broccoli. It is one of my favorite places to go.
Excellent customer service and that Devil's nest soup was spicy deliciousness.
Great food and service, reasonable prices, warm atmosphere.
First time here and it was so yummy! We will definitely be back!
Really good food and fantastic service. Nothing fancy by any means but the food was excellent and the restaurant was very nice with a great atmosphere. I had the shrimp wonton soup and the shrimp Pad Thai. Was very pleased and the serving size was perfect. Was also pleased to see they had a small beer selection.
I love the food here! I have yet to have a dish I not like. You are definitely getting what you pay for. I LOVE their Thai tea. The ambiance is very close and can be intimate for dinners. It's awesome for lunch as well. They have great specials. The General Tso chicken and the pineapple chicken are delicious.
Best Asian food in the Memphis area. Their weekday lunch is inexpensive ($7 to $8) and excellent. Hearty soups, perfectly cooked Chinese chicken, and well-spiced Thai dishes. A true Germantown gem.
This place is just good. My kids want to go here every single day. The staff are so friendly and you will love whatever you order. I have never been disappointed.
Go To Place. We moved to the Memphis area last year and have been looking for a great Asian restaurant. We saw the Devil's Nest Soup on one of the "100 things to eat in Memphis" lists and decided to check it out. Oh wow! We love this place! Its Clean! They give Great Service! and most of all they serve Amazing Food!!! This is now our "Go To" place for Asian food. The food has great flavor and seems to be made from quality ingredients, not just the cheapest available, which makes a huge difference. Whoever owns/manages this place should be proud, it is a food place run with integrity and passion. So rare these days, especially around here where chain restaurants prevail and offer mostly garbage. Their prices and portions are also reasonable! So glad we found this Asian restaurant!!!
Today was my first time visiting this restaurant, I had been looking for some good chicken fried rice. I read all of the reviews about how good this restaurant is so I decided to give it a try and it was delicious! I will be going back.
We ate here recently based on all the great reviews on here, and it lived up to those reviews in all respects. The two appetizers (pot stickers and fried tofu) came out hot and crisp and were out of this world. The orange peel shrimp was outstanding and is a real winner, as is the Coconut curry chicken. The service was outstanding as well. We will definitely be going back.
The crispy tofu appetizer was excellent. I would even suggest it as a light meal. Was also pleased that the waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu and let us substitute tofu in any of the dishes. Hunan tofu and green beans with tofu were both quite tasty, very fresh. Ask for a side of "hot sauce" which is crushed peppers and chili oil. Spring rolls were good but not quite as good as the crispy tofu or entrees. Overall I thought the food was a good value, very fresh, and tasty. Service was excellent. I don't live in Memphis but would definitely go again. Love Asian food and being able to sub tofu in any dish makes it very veg-friendly.
Friendly staff, quite and calm atmosphere. Great food for a low price.
One of our favorite places! Good, fast service and wonderful food. Try the panang curry, the tofu appetizer, and the chicken soup (Thai Tom Ka Kai?). The devil's nest is waaayy spicy!!!
This is a great little restaurant. The first time I went there I ordered the Devil's Nest Noodle Soup. On the menu it said it was made with three different chilies. What it should have said was "This is the spiciest dish you're ever going to be served in a restaurant." And I mean that in a good way. Awesome!
Wonderful Place. The Devil's Nest Soup is da bomb if you like hot stuff. The service is awesome. I've only been there a few times, but the server remembered that I wanted a Sprite and what soup I get without even asking.
Fresh ingredients and very fun, friendly service. My wife and I tried the summer rolls, Tom Yum noodles and spicy garlic shrimp. Everything tasted great. Will definitely be back.
Great little place. Love going to Tao Too. Delicious Asian dishes, always consistent and well presented. Gracious servers who remember what I like to drink even before I can place my order. Have never been disappointed in the dishes served. Favorites include Pot Stickers, Malaysian Satay (deliciously spicy), Double Pan Fried Noodles. Tao too is quickly becoming my "go to" Weekend Restaurant.
Dinner for 4 under 40 bucks....and oh so good. Chicken Panang is awesome! Tried the Tom kha soup and it's now my favorite dish here.

Great food! Love the house noodle soup! Kinda slow.. But I go with friends and like to sit and chat
Good food and nice price. This is my second trip here - both times during lunch. Let me tell you - this place has good food for lunch. The food comes out and is prepared with fresh ingredients. This trip, I ordered the Mongolian beef with scallions and white onions. The beef was tender and the onions and scallions were cooked to have a slight bite, but didn't taste raw. It was paired with a sweet soy-based sauce. It wasn't greasy or overcooked. I had it with the fried rice - to my surprise, the fried rice wasn't over-salted or over-oiled. I was very pleased with the order.
Additionally, the soup that the lunch specials came with was very good. Typically, places have mediocre hot and sour soup. This soup was very flavorful and had the right amount of hot and the right amount of sour.
Overall, the food was very good and for their lunch price point, you can't go wrong. Whoever said the portions were too small is definitely over-eating. The portions were just right and the service wasn't too terrible. All that for $6.99 + tax? You can't go wrong.
Real Thai food. I had lunch here on a Monday afternoon. This place was busy and I got the last table. I was met by a friendly bus boy, who gave off the impression that he just may be the owner or manager. He was great and very attentive. My water glass never got below half full. I started with the fresh spring rolls. They were full of shrimp and very well done. They were traditionally made and were as good as any I have had. It said it came with peanut sauce, but I think it was just hoison sauce with some peanuts sprinkled on top. The Tom Yum noodle soup, however, was fantastic. Let there be no mistake, it is spiiiicy, just the way I like it. It was a bowl full of chicken, shrimp, noodles, fresh jalapeno, onion and peppers. It was as good as any Tom Yum that I had in Thailand. So, if authentic matters when you are looking for Thai food, this place appears to be the spot for it.
Awesome Food. Been here over a dozen times...food, value and service are always excellent...Devil's Nest soup is my absolute favorite!
Best Thai Food in Memphis. I love this Thai restaurant! The curries are delicious and the pad thai is consistently authentic. I wish the owners would open up another restaurant in midtown!
We went to this place for take out because our usual place didn't pick up the phone. Food was great, a little pricey though. We purchased our usuals, it ended up costing us more and the portions were half the size of our other place. Disappointing but they have quality food and would go back.
Super Soup!. I finally got the chance to check out Tao Too last night and was blown away. Everything we ordered was great. We got there around 6pm and beat the dinner crowd so our order came out quickly. Egg drop soup, crab wontons, orange peel shrimp and devil's nest soup, all amazing. Cheap, too! Our meal was less than $30 and served by a very nice waitress. Will make another visit when we are back in the area!
Perfect. Tao Too is absolutely PERFECT. I have never had a bad meal here. I have eaten at the actual restaurant numerous times, as well as had food delivered. The delivery guys are always very friendly, and the food is beyond fantastic, whether it's fresh in the restaurant or being delivered piping hot to your door. I've tried countless menu items expecting to eventually find something that wasn't so great, but this place is genuinely great 100% of the time. I never pass up a chance to eat here.
Yay great great asian food! finally i found you in memphis!. I am so ecstatic to know tao too is so delicious from start to finish. two of us dined on the coconut shrimp app, the chicken fried rice, and each had the thai tom kha kai soup. i cannot describe how wonderfully fresh each ingredient was and how great the flavor was in each dish. i cannot wait to go back again and try more! thank you tao too for existing. see you soon.
Just had dinner here and it was amazing! Will be coming back soon :)
Great!. Great food, awesome staff. Tried most of the items on the menu, like them all. We try to visit at least once a month.

Wonderful! Some of the best food I have had. Fresh and cooked to perfection. The fried tofu and the Thai Tom kha Kia soup was great! The chicken dish called general (something forgot the whole name) was the best chicken ever! Please go there!!!

FABULOUS!!!! The orange peel shrimp is not to be missed. I also recommend the fried tofu and the Thai basil fried rice with shrimp. The tom kha is also wonderful and heats well when taken to work. Tao Too uses all fresh ingredients and huge shrimp that will make your mouth water. Since we started coming here, I don't even SEE Sakura from the parking lot any more. Yummy, yummy, yummy!!
VERY good! Best Asian food in Memphis. ingredients are fresh and tasty. can't wait to go back.
It's good. We both ordered Pad Thai since it was our first time. I ordered it with shrimp and my wife ordered it with chicken. Both well prepared. Egg drop soup was good too. Lunch was about $22 for us. We will likely return.
The Thai Gumbo is the best soup in Memphis!!!!
WOW. I just ordered from Tao Too for the first time, by way of delivery. I have only positive things to say about the food, and delivery, so here we go...
-First of all, they were absolutely genuine and kind throughout the order, and told me it would arrive at my house (which is within the 5 mi. delivery radius) in 45 minutes. It arrived in 25, winning Tao Too some bonus points.
-I ordered the Chicken Pannang, a semi-spicy Chicken dish with sauteed carrot, white and green onion, green and red peppers, snow peas, and basil with a chili-curry sauce and white rice. It was PERFECT, fresh, delicious, and still hot when it arrived. The sauce was not thickened with any kind of corn starch/etc. thankfully.
As a cook myself I can tell you that whoever made my meal knew what they were doing. The flavor overall was excellent and the food is fresh! Also, the portion of food was perfect; I am about 5'11", 190 lbs, and I had a decent amount of food leftover.
-I also ordered 2 vegetable spring rolls, which also were hot and fresh, with great flavor in a crispy roll. They chili dipping sauce they come with is delicious.
-I cannot say enough of how good the food was, and as a first time customer, I hope everything is the same!
-Finally, and once again, both the person who took my order by phone and the delivery driver were nothing but pleasant and kind! Great people to order from.
Tao Too made a great first impression on me! This dish was the best Asian I've had in or near Germantown. I'll be ordering more soon.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!. I had the chicken pad thai (made a little bit spicy) and my fiance had the chicken panang (made more spicy). we had vegetable spring rolls for an app. they were the best spring rolls I've ever tasted, the spices in them were delicious! both dishes were excellent- best pad thai I've ever had. the vegetables always taste fresh and crispy. the food service was excellent, the decor in the restaurant is super cute, an intimate setting. very affordable too! we eat here about once a week, dine in or take out. I would love to see Tao Too do well, this place rocks.
Great new place!!!!. The dishes are unique. Aslight creative twist on the typcial version you usually find, but still true enough to enough to the standard to satisfy. Great Tom Yum noodle soup, and the summer roles were yummy too!!!!
This is my new favorite place!!!!
Ok the people are really nice but the food... not so much!
Very Good!. One of the best Asian restaurants I've found in the area. I'd love it if they used a little bit more spice in their dishes, but the food is cooked with skill.
The Basil Chicken is good, and the Beef Noodle soup got rave reviews from my partner in dining. They serve a light, smooth green tea and have a nice variety of dishes on the menu.
The atmosphere is relaxing and the service is excellent! I am very happy with Tao Too.
Thank you Urban Spoon, for introducing me to this gem in my neighborhood!
Tao Too has great specials and staff. Right from the door, Tao Too feels like a nice restaurant. With mood lighting and contemporary decor, the dining room is intimate. The tables look clean and the staff all greeted us in a friendly manner. The hostess looked me in the eye and sounded sincere when she asked, "How are you today?"
I went with three coworkers and had such a huge spread, half of us brought home to-go boxes (which were neatly packaged inside brown paper bags by the staff). Most of their lunch specials are $6.99 and include soup or egg roll, fried or steamed rice and your entrée. I got the Pad Thai with chicken, and it was amazing. Huge portions, good-quality ingredients, way more food than I needed for lunch, but I have a feeling it's going to be just as delicious left over.
As I said, the staff is friendly and courteous. We had at least 3 different individuals helping us at various times during the meal, and several other tables were occupied, so they weren't just waiting around for more business.
I wouldn't change a thing about Tao Too, based on this experience and the secondhand soup some friends of mine left in my fridge after eating there. Take a trip out/over/down to Germantown and try it!
Great place for families. I took my two young children there and had a great meal at a great price. The staff was super friendly and the food was amazing!
Renamed Tao Too Asian Eatery. They are currently updating their Menu so the URL
WWW.Taomemphis.com from their current menu isn't working at the moment.
I am hesitant to write this review because I don't want to ruin the quiet homey atmosphere. However, this restaurant is too awesome to keep hidden.
Foremost of importance for our family is a child friendly environment, in which Tao Too has shown to be at the top of our Memphis frequent visits. Even though they currently do not have a child's section on the menu, there are more than enough items to satisfy even picky eaters.
From the first time we walked into the restaurant, we were made to feel at home. They are friendly and go out of their way to make your visit enjoyable. Our son loves Catherine and Melly. (not sure how to spell their names) They make sure that they find something to fit his picky four year old appetite. I enjoy very spicy food. They brought me several hot sauces to try in order to make sure they satisfied my taste.
Our family definitely recommends a trip to this restaurant.
When we leave, ours son makes sure they have a hug.
Part of this review was written by my wife because I value her input and felt she might do me better on the review.
Fantastic food as well as service! New owners and new mngt and new Chef! Way better than even before! Name will be changing to Tao Too Asian Eatery.
Eclectic menu that offers good Vietnamese, Thai and Malaysian inspired dishes.
Best. This is my favorite restaurant in all of memphis. The staff is the most pleasant and they remember everything. I dont even have to really order when i go in there.
The food is top notch. Jimmy the owner/Chef is amazing.
1st time here and new to the area so I decided to give this place a try.. Service was quick and the food was delicious.
Spectacular taste bud teasing meal prepare and served in a timely and professional manner. My love of various spices as the tantalize the senses and awaken the desire to venture beyond the status quo. From my love of traditional southern style specialties, to Cajun, Caribbean, Mediterranean, and the Orient; I can always find a uniqueness and greater appreciation for each culture and for their contributions to our global culture. The food here was as authentic as one could ask for and the decor is a great expression of their beautiful environment. The Singapore Noodles did not disappoint. You could easily savor the flavors of the food as they brush across your tongue. The kick from the Curry, onions, and peppers made the meal all the more delicious. Stop in and enjoy a serving.
Have tried a few places, Sakura is the only one I would back to again. Fresh, generous, varied, clean, welcoming, bright and inviting venue.
Been coming to this place for years now. Solid food with fresh ingredients. Their lunch specials are hard to beat when you are craving a clean and fresh food around E. Memphis/Germantown. Must try their soups. Trust me.
At least one time go Chinese restaurant in german town, having variety of chinese starters, snacks and main course in reasonable rate. I personally like singapore fried rice and fried toffu chillies. Interior is good and depict Chinese style. Restaurant is spacious and have capacity approx 40 to 50. It have good parking space might common with other stores in surrounding. Restaurant Staff are friendly and their service is good. Not much crowded so wait time is zero.
My family and I get food from here often, especially around the holidays; and it’s always something I look forward to. The food here is great and the service is excellent— two of my favorites have got to be the Thai curry and the fried rice, both are delicious!
Absolutely the best Thai Tom Kha Kai soup on the planet. I have tried this dish at other Thai restaurants and I have yet to find 1 place that measures up! I found this restaurant by accident over 10 years ago, thinking I was ordering from another restaurant in the vicinity. So glad I came across this Asian Eatery. I have never gotten a bad meal and readily suggests this restaurant to everybody!💕
