I moved here in October of 2017 from NY/NJ. I had been searching for real NY style pizza. I stopped in at Sal's one day cause I was recommende here by a few locals. As soon as I ordered my two slices I knew I hit the jackpot. I had found original NY style pizza. I got to meet Sal and found he use to live in Astoria. I love their food and stop in whenever I get the chance. All the food is great and so are all the staff.

We have know Sal when moved from MY, years ago.. We have seen the family pizza place grow over the years. Best pizza, garlic knots and amazing Eggplant Parmesan. The flavor and taste is very authentic. Don't forget to try the Ziti Pizza.

Sal's went out of their way by donating 100% of their profits on Feb 23rd and 24th to Mrs. Foote who currently fighting cancer. That is such an awesome thing to do. I guess I can throw in also that it is the best pizza place in Gilbert. You're awesome Sal's!

I've loved Sal's Gilbert Pizza for 10 years now. What sealed the deal was when my dietary needs changed, I found Sal had added Gluten-free options to his menu! Sal and Grace have my family as customers for life.

11/25/23: stopped in an early Saturday evening for what I hoped would be good food. It was not good. IT WAS EXCELLENT! There were three of us dining and we all thoroughly enjoyed everything that was ordered. Our server, Robert, was on top of his game. He came to the table quickly, and kept returning time and time again, asking how we were, filling drinks, etc. He was friendly, polite, and did a fantastic job. The restaurant was larger than it looked from the outside. The parking in its complex was a bit small, but I saw parking on the opposite side of their driveway. We arrived around 4:30 and the place was already doing a steady amount of business. When we left, there was quite a hefty amount of people waiting to be seated. From appetizers to pizza to pasta, everything was hot and flavorful. Damn it, we should have gotten dessert. Ha! That's all right, we'll get it next time. If you have not tried Sal's, you're missing out on some mighty fine food.

Native New Yorker and this is the best pizza in Chandler/Gilbert area that I have found. Lots of cheese, sauce is good and they use the perfect amount. Good garlic knots too. I’ve tried a lot of others, and this is hands down favorite. I have to drive by several closer ones to get this, but worth the trip! And their cannolis are also the best!

We were pleasantly surprised when we popped in for a quick lunch on the outdoor patio. We had a half Grandma, half Grandpa pizza and it was definitely the savoury bite we were looking for. Enjoyed the outdoor patio, with easy access to your car when you're done. The service was chill but we were in a chill mood, so all good. Plenty of parking. Cheers!

First time in a while I went into a pizza parlor and it smells like pizza. The entire establishment is top notch! And the pizza... best I had here in Arizona. You need to stop by here if you're in the area, or come out and try it.

We're visiting from The Villages (Fl). Stopped by to try the pizza when we saw that you could buy a slice. I had a pepperoni, and my wife had plain. Very good thin crust and good tasting cheese. We'll be sure to stop by before we head back home.

It was pretty good, got a half pepperoni/half sausage pizza that my family member picked up here the other day for take out. It's probably better in person fresh instead of sitting in a box for 15 minutes on the way home. Very crunchy crust, a little thinner than I'd like, but a lot of people really like that. The next time we do Sal's Pizza, we'll try it in-person and see if there's a difference - get a couple slices to try out, maybe try something different. Anyways, pretty good pizza, would recommend.

We got the large house salad and added grilled chicken. Pretty big salad. Then we got the extra pepperoni and cheese thin crust pizza. Pretty good. As we left I was looking at the pizzas in the case and I had wanted to try the baked ziti pizza and the lady nicely gave me a slice! So sweet. Would definitely return.

Let me start out by saying, Sal's has, hands down, the best Lasagna and Garlic bread my wife and I have ever experienced. The Lasagna sliced like butter and the flavor explosion that transpired in my mouth shortly thereafter was like no other. The garlic bread was crazy thin and amazing. The usual garlic bread is thick with a lot of dough, not Sal's, perfectly thin and with just the right amount of garlic toppings. This is now our go to Italian place...you will love every morsel of food that they prepare. The benchmark for Italian food here in Arizona!!!

I’ve been going to Sal’s since I moved to AZ almost 15 years ago. It’s so much more than a pizza place … it’s an Italian bistro or trattoria. After their appearance on Diners, Drive Ins and Dive, their recognition exploded and their business grew exponentially. Even so, their food, service, and atmosphere remained above excellent. I was born in Italy so I grew up on homemade food … and I know great Italian food when I eat it. Don’t miss out on this place. It’s exceptional.

Great place to take the family for a sit down. There are TVs in the corners to catch the game, its not too loud so still great for conversations. Few restaurants still offer half price appetizers so with a pizza or a pasta dish we feed the whole family and almost no leftovers. Highly recommend! Don't forget the dessert!

A MUST RESTAURANT TO GRUB! I absolutely fell in love with the baked ziti pizza. I was unsure of what to expect, but you will not be disappointed. It was a quick bite to eat for us, and the server helped to expedite it. I will be coming back to bring the whole fam and some.

We tried Sal’s on a whim of wanting something different and we were pleasantly surprised! Our server Robert was fantastic and gave great recommendations! We’re typically boring pepperoni lovers but decided to try the drunken grandpa and WOW was it amazing!!!! The pepperoni was also tasty. We definitely found our new favorite little hidden gem 💖

This was a great surprise!!! Looking for a great pizza spot and stumbled upon this, being out of towners we didn't know what to expect but WOW!!!!! Service was wonderful, the ambience was spot on but the real impression was on the food. Past a table with a XL pepperoni pizza before we sat down and it looked fantastic, so we had to order one of those. Also ordered a Supreme and a Chicken Parm with spaghetti that were all very tasty, presentation was also nice. Now back to the pepperoni pie.....what can I say other than awesome! Cooked perfectly, with a nice dark under crust, great crisp and good chew. Delicious cheese and great amount of pepperoni made it top notch. One of the best local,Neighborhood pizzerias I've been too in a long time! Happy to support small business that truly love what they do and are damn good at it,too!!! I'm telling everyone I know that come to the east valley that this is a must stop if they're craving some great pizza!

This was a refreshing surprise. Pizza taste nice. Service was nice and very friendly. Woody Harrison and the owner were very nice to us. The atmosphere was noisy as there were many people, but well organized so people were not on top of each other. Will definitely return and make it a place to take young ones.
