Nice, clean and smoke free. Famous fish & chips is crispy ( not oily), the fries are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, just the way I like them. Tasty. Beer is cold and the local group of seniors seem to be enjoying themselves. A bit off my usual route but the friendly service and good food will bring me back
We go here every 2 weeks for fish and chips. i thought I'd try something different this time so i ordered the french dip. ugh! not sure what they use for meat but it was a patty that aopeared to be made of ground and formed "something". one bite and felt sick. i complained and all i got in return was "ya nobody likes it". i would def eat the fish and chips again but will never order another sandwich
MMMmmm good.. Just had my first order of the fish and chips. Damn good stuff. Moved here from Seattle and was hoping to find some fish and chips that were good and fast like Ivar's.
Well, Gaffer's is as good or better.

Best Fish and Chips. Gaffers has alway had GREAT fish and chips, but now that they are smoke free inside the fish and chips are AWESOME! The service is always very fast and even though we don't drink they are still attentive. One drawback is that they don't always keep their soda cans cold for nondrinkers which makes the soda flat when they pour it over ice. Knowing that will weigh on wether I am in the mood to go there for dinner.
A warm and comfortable dining experience with this feeling like you were at a fish house somewhere near the coast. Smashing fish and chips dinner and now a regular stop on my commute every week. I love this place and highly recommend dinner and you can catch your favorite team on several large screen TV's. A++
Quick and delicious. The 4 piece fish and chips was perfect for 2 people to share. I don't care for breading but the bragging here was light and tasty. The fries were gigantic and very good.
Fantastic fish n chips and/or cheeseburger and fries!! Friendly service (thanks Bob), delicious food, and very affordable. Their menu is the chalkboard on the wall, and with good reason. They take great pride in what they do well, and the writing's on the wall to prove it (no menu needed)!
It is always a delight and such a treat to visit this place. They always make you feel as though you just walked into the comforts of your best friends house. Everyone is friendly.

When a restaurant has a limited menu like this, you know they're doing that one thing better than anyone. That's what's happening here. Four piece fish, and beer at a fair price. Absolute best fish and chips south of Go Fish near Granville Island in Vancouver BC.
Wow! What a find. I heard the Fish & Chips here is good. Well the person that shared with was right on target. That was the best fish I've had for a good long while. If you're going for the ambience (actually a pub) then this place might not work for you, BUT - if you have a hankering for fish & chips, then this place needs to be pushed towards the top of your togo list.!.! Gaffers is a great place to relax and unwind with a basket of incredible fish and chips at a good price. I recently had their fish chunk basket and loved it. Also, they're very generous with the fish. Lastly, I really enjoyed my most recent experience with the bartender who was really kind and easy to talk to.
My husband's family have been coming here for years. Perfect local dive bar and the best fish n chips (tied with Bowpicker in Astoria; My husband disagrees and Gaffers is his #1.) It's that good! You can't get any better than this!! Your new #1 spot as good (or better) as the beach. We drive from Vancouver for dinner, a couple drinks and play video poker. Shout out to Bob the bartender.

Super mellow neighborhood bar. Spacious, clean (as clean as you expect a bar to be) and in my limited visits, (4 times), seems like it caters to poker players. What makes this bar great is the guy behind the bar, I think his name is Bob. Every time I come in, I'm welcomed in a comfortable way and catered to when I need, or want something.
I'm not sure, maybe everyone that enters that bar every time I've been there is his good friend, or maybe he's just a down to earth people person who's intuitive and good at what he does. Probably both, either way he's an asset to that business. And I'm not easily impressed.

Best fish and chips ever. Was always a fan of Gaffers in Tigard. Since that location is closed, tried this one. The place could use a good scrubbing but the food was fabulous. Fish was as close to halibut as I ever experienced. Nice portions-excellent batter and tartar sauce to die for. Bob was personable and fun. The only draw back is they open at 10:00 but kitchen is not operational until 11:00.

The fish and chips are so good. Hand cut qnd breaded. The staff are friendly and efficient. This seems to be a neighborhood bar that cares about the neighborhood.

Not an attractive place on the outside. It's a dive bar for sure. But they have the best fish and chips around! Get the fish chunk basket. It's the best. This rivals any place at the beach. Call for take out. Usually ready in about 10 minutes.
