Wonderful! From the artsy, chill atmosphere to the delicious food, my husband and I loved everything about Sea by Thai.
The owner and the staff were all warm and welcoming. We enjoyed trying new food while relaxing in a comfortable setting. I am a picky eater and tread lightly when it comes to styles of food I don't know well, but I am glad we came in. I had the Pad Cashew with Pork and was blown away. My husband, who is a more adventurous foodie, couldn't say enough wonderful things about his spicy seafood dish. I highly recommend the Thai Tea as well!

Absolute best! Try the basil crispy duck, you will love it. Perfectly cooked-just the right balance of savory, sweet, spicy, crispy!
Also recommend the Panang curry and the drunken noodles (kee mao). It’s hard to say what was our favorite dish.
Chef/owner personally came to the table, added a family feel to the meal. Wonderful experience.
I’ve literally never written a review before in my life. I felt compelled after dining here. What an amazing experience! Just stopped by with some family for my birthday. First of all the owner is absolutely amazing. The waitress was great and most importantly the food was phenomenal. Everything from the appetizer, the entree and the dessert. So excited to be able to eat there again. You can tell from the energy of management to the food that they really are passionate about making people feel comfortable and happy. Thank you so much!!

Best Thai food I’ve had in 10 years and I’m a chef! Been here 3 times this week and I’m traveling. Thai hot is Thai hot- it’s irritating when you go to Thai restaurant and the hots not hot...... it is here. Pad Thai on point ask for the chili condiment tray. Get a Thai iced tea ! Owners are great and 100% involved. Curry is rich and delicious. I’ll be back.

Great new Thai restaurant in Short Pump. The service and food here will bring me back. Authentic Thai. We had the Crispy Basil Duck and fried Tilapia with Chili and garlic sauce. So glad to have this new place in the neighborhood.
Absolutely loved it. Great food, friendly staff. A must do in Richmond. The Pad Thai, Drunken Spaghetti and Shrimp dumplings were particularly excellent! Prices were very reasonable as well!

As a former Tara Thai lover, we were so excited to learn Sea by Thai has opened. Had our first dinner there this week, just as good as I remember !! Definitely eat here if you like amazing Thai food. The panang curry chicken is the best.

This is finally my new favorite Thai restaurant. The food was fresh and artfully served. And of course it was delicious-not bland and with just right spices and flavor. I appreciated the service which was attentive but not annoying. And the decor was pleasant and fun. I can't think what would have made it better.
Great food and service! Loved the chill music, too. I highly recommend the grinch fried rice if you like spicy. Shrimp tempura was so perfectly crispy! I highly recommend the crispy duck
We had a great experience at Sea by Thai. The food was great, the 2 chili pepper spice indicator was super spicy for us, and we're usually not shy about spice. The food was great quality, said, mussels, shrimp were cooked well and flavor was spot on!

Previous review was done two years ago. I am changing my review to a five stars. Had lunch here with a friend in July. We both agreed that the food was delicious. The ambiance was trendy. I had Pork Kapow Thai hot, the dish was very tasty with just right amount of heat. It was midweek and after lunch hours, all tables were filled. I have to praise our waitress, she was the only wait staff. As busy as she was, she was very calm, still very attentive and didn’t make any mistakes. The only downside was we waited for a long time our food, but it was worth it. This is my favorite Thai restaurant in Short Pump area.

Stopped by for a take out order. The waiter was very knowledgeable and gave me his recommendations. The Crispy Duck was $16 but portion was small. No bones and fat, but didn’t have enough flavor. I still prefer the Crispy Duck from Pad Thai in Mechanicsville. The clear noodle dish (粉丝) with prawns was really good. Overall, food was decent, but kind of expensive. I probably would enjoyed more and gave a five star if we ate at the restaurant.
Very good restaurant in a good location, friendly service, and of course very good food. Portions are certainly more than enough but not super overwhelming and everything taste fresh. My appetizer and entree were steaming hot and delicious! Prices are good too in the typical range. Would recommend!
This is the best Thai I've ever eaten in my entire life. I've been to Thai restaurants of varying scale all over the nation, and nothing ever matches how delicious this place is. No matter what dish you get, it'll be exquisite. The Kapow? Delicious favorite! Drunken Noodles? Amazing classic! Pad Pik Pow? Explosion of flavors! And so much more. You absolutely cannot go wrong with whatever you get here. Not to mention that the service is super helpful and nice no matter when you go. My life was empty before I ate here and I willingly drive thirty minutes here whenever I can to get the perfect meal. Absolutely my favorite thing ever.
I’ve had lunch and dinner here quite a few times, so it’s obviously one of my favorite places. I love the Pla Filet Tod with the Chili Garlic Sauce. Their Chicken Pad Thai is another favorite. Their Tempura Shrimp is another fave. Most of all, I LOVE their Sticky Rice (with or without the mango)!!! I must also say that our favorite waitress is a girl who usually works on weekends whose nickname is Ed. She has such a sincere and welcoming way about her, she always gets our orders right, and she always gives great service! Smiles are contagious, and when she smiles, we smile!
Great food, great ambiance, great music, and the service was very calming. I felt so relaxed and calm while eating delicious food. It’s like all my worries and hunger were just being washed away.
