THE best sushi place I've ever been to. I've had sushi in Germany, in Paris, Florida, Laguna Beach, and NYC. But this little hidden gem is my absolute favorite. It's very local to lots of shopping and other restaurants. It's in a little shopping plaza, hidden away from the hustle and bustle that is Glen Burnie - with lots of parking. It has never been super busy when I've gone - but I'm not complaining at all. It's a very small ,quaint, and quiet location. I'd guess it seats about 50 people. The decor is inviting and the place is dimly lit. The utensils and dishware are AMAZING! I'm a sucker for details, so things like the cutlery and fresh flowers on the table really entice me. The place is very clean and the servers are very responsive and polite. The service is also very prompt! I love that this location can be either super casual or for special events. For example, I've come in to dine in just jeans and a tee...and I've also come in dressed up for a date. The setting is so versatile for however you are dressed. Not to mention, every time I have dined, I have either received a free roll on the house (which is ALWAYS an amazing surprise) or a free small dessert. One time I got both! I have ordered take out before also and it was just as delightful (heck, I'm ordering it tonight now just thinking of this place...) They truly do care about the quality of ingredients they use, the presentation of their dishes, and the overall experience you have in their establishment. YAMA - you win at restauranting! You have a forever customer.

I frequent Yama Sushi Bar for lunch with my co-workers regularly. The service is always very friendly and attentive. Everything I've eaten there has been immaculately prepared and absolutely delicious. I highly recommend their lunch Bento Box--plenty of options, and you get quite a lot of food!

Best place to get sushi, everyone here is super friendly and very attentive. Every time I've come it's very clean and a nice relaxing atmosphere. I love the cucumbers they give you on the house, but I definitely come here for the sushi.

A delicious Japanese restaurant priced a little high for the portions and quality. The cucumber salad on the house was a nice way to start the meal although it was a tad bit on the sweet side. Seafood salad had a couple nice pieces of fish as well as some seaweed salad underneath but the amount of seaweed salad really should be increased, I was left craving for more seaweed. The special lollipop roll made without rice is extremely unique and looks amazing but the taste really fell through. Didn't really have any bold flavors that stood out. The decor was extremely nice and servers were friendly.

Really good sushi. I am always happy with the quality and they are polite. Being that it is covid time, I have only tried their take out, not dine in.

When I crave sushi-I crave sushi from this place. It is some of the best consistent quality, value, selection and service I have experienced from any restaurant. It is strictly a sushi bar with udon, bento and tempura offerings but not as traditionally old school with their menu and it’s THE BEST because they have a massive selection of special rolls with creative and delicious combinations of ingredients. The rice always tastes freshly made, the sushi rolls are on the larger size, the seafood ingredients in the rolls are consistently good. When I lived locally, this was my go to place for lunch or dinner. At 10-12 dollars average for most of the special rolls, it’s in the sweet spot of price points for sushi before getting into very traditional sushi bars with the highest quality sashimi but also a less creative menu and slower service. The wait staff is great. One waitress has a flat and wonderfully unobtrusive tone of voice. She is polite, attentive and keeps my green tea topped off-impressive because I go through it pretty quickly. If she mentioned they have fresh scallops, try them, they’re amazing. The dessert options are quite good. You can’t go wrong with green tea ice cream or fried bananas. The ambience in the dining area is pleasant and obviously done with care, without being excessively modern and leaving you wondering how much of your bill contributes to their decor. Seating is mostly booths, which I like for having that separation from other diners (pre-pandemic). They the best implementation of social distancing precautions I have seen to date. They only offer take-out now and have retrofitted the atrium into a tiny ordering lobby. You order through a windowed door and there is a two way drawer compartment through which you can pass your payment method and get your food.

The sushi here was amazing. Need to visit this place. Presentation was awesome. Hand painted birds and branch as part of the sashimi platter.
