I absolutely love this place. I usually get a martini with breakfast, but today, just coffee. The food here is phenomenal, and the service is impeccable. I do recommend coming early. The place tends to fill up fast. The options are great, and I LOVE the croissant egg sandwich. I hope you eat here if you're in Gloucester. You won't be dissatisfied.

We stopped here after visiting Hammonds Castle, and it was amazing. Even though it was incredibly busy, our waitress was extremely attentive. Our food came out perfectly. I got the cape Ann omelet with home fries and rye toast. It was so good! The portion was huge, so I got to have leftovers. The hostess was warm and welcoming and complimented my costume. The next time I visit Hammonds castle, we will stop by again!

Very generous portions, excellent service, allergy friendly options. It's hard to find food at a diner I can have being dairy free and the Avocado toast is probably the best brunch I've ever had. See photo.

We're visiting the area from out of state, and stopped here last night to pick up food to take back mostly because they were open. The environment was warm and friendly, very welcoming, and the food we carried out was tasty and satisfying - exactly what we needed. So we went back tonight to sit at a table. Different server, different cooks on duty, different food ordered, different context... And still absolutely fabulous. Our server was absolutely on point, perfect. The kitchen had no problem handling my food allergy. And the place still felt warm and welcoming, even towards a couple strangers from out of town wearing Halloween costumes. Seriously, if you're close enough that this comes up in your search for a restaurant along your route or near your current location, stop looking and go here. They're absolutely lovely. (And I'm guessing the locals already know that!)

First time coming here and it was great like the other reviews said. My wife ordered French toast with strawberries and whipped cream and I got their chicken biscuit gravy. Both orders were wonderful and specially our waitress. She was extremely polite and attentive. If we weren't on vacation we would come here again.

Haven't been home for a while and wanted to check out George's breakfast since the new ownership. Usually I'd opt for the massive pancakes (we saw from another table are still true to style) or maybe a breakfast sandwich, but the smashed avocado jumped at me. Two poached eggs on caramelized onions, mushroom, tomato, smashed avocado and a fresh bed of spinach, drizzled with balsamic glaze, all piled on top of toast....my goodness it did not disappoint. Usually comes with bacon, too, but I don't eat meat so they easily excluded it. My hunny got the crab cakes benedict with the hash brown patties that George's has always served, still crispy and golden. His plate was hearty and delicious. We were heavily tempted for a martini to accompany the beautiful bar space, but decided to come back later to test that as well. A beautiful start to our day!!

Ordered some take out sandwiches on the way back home after sightseeing along the coast. The pulled pork and chicken BLT were delicious. Wish they were around the corner! I highly recommend stopping by.

Great local diner. We ate breakfast there two days in a row! We were in Gloucester for a dear friend's funeral. We decided to visit some of his favorite restaurants and are very glad we went to George's. Good food, friendly staff, and fair prices. If you are in Gloucester, stop and eat at George's. You will be glad you did!

My wife and I had a lovely meal here yesterday. Because it was busy here, we had to wait very long for our food to come out. My spouse loved her Avocado toast while I enjoyed my delicious steak tips and eggs. Portions were large; service was fine and the food quality was very high. Note that people were ordering great drinks while we were there. I definitely recommend dining here, but be prepared to wait.

We had a wonderful breakfast starting off with the fried dough! Soooo good!!! Had some egg scrambles and French toast, a 9.8 from my eight year old son. We were treated so kindly from the staff, we are so happy we googled and found George’s while touring around Cape Ann. We definitely will be back if we are in the area!! Thank you for the wonderful meal!!

Was planing to eat breakfast in central Gloucester, but all other places were closed, so I ended up going to Geroge's. And I am very happy I did. The staff was super nice, and the food was great - and portions were reasonable. The wait was a bit long, but it was so nice there that it was not an issue.

I really enjoyed the food here! It was busy, so my brother and I sat at the counter, which was tough on my back. We had a good time here, and watched the food fly out of the kitchen, until ours arrived and we dug in very happy.
