Causeway Restaurant - Gloucester - Photo album

Nice place for lunch. Food was generally good, although the crab sandwich needed something. Kind of bland. The lobster roll and grilled octopus were really good though, and of course the chowder was excellent. Friendly and pretty fast service, especially considering we were there at the lunch rus
Spectacular! Fresh amazing seafood! Scallops, clams, calamari and homemade onion rings were perfection. Nice side of 🍋.You can tell their frying oil is changed frequently. Fresh. Amazing clam chowder! Generous portions and high quality.. Nina was amazing and gorgeous 🔥 Comfortable cozy atmosphere.
Amazing food ❤️❤️❤️I can’t find the words. We were visiting The Hammond Castle Museum and decided to get some food after. We found this place randomly. The place is not big, we were waiting for 15 minutes to get inside . We took a table for 4 people. Ordered 2 Seafood marinara( thanks God we asked h
The Causeway is the standard for what all restaurants should be! The level of service, the quality of the food, the atmosphere and the prices are second to none! We took 20 people here for a special occasion. I contacted them ahead about a reservation - they never do reservations but said they wo
There is nothing here you won't like. The food is amazing, and you get way more than you pay for. Be prepared to take home leftovers. The food is cooked to perfection, and it doesn't take long, no matter how busy they are. They are usually busy, but the wait time to be seated aren't bad. Love this p
The food is really good and affortable prices but the containers to take the leftovers are not good quality because when I got home the bottom was so soft because the liquid of the dish was absorbed by the container. I suggest another biodegradable containers that doesn't affect the food. Other than
Spot on for a classic New England seafood diner. Favorite of the locals. Rewarding to those that don't judge by the cover. Super hearty portions, even outdoes a growing boys appetite, and priced right. Make room in the car for the leftovers.
Stopped in for lunch on a Sunday. Feels like a place locals go; no frills, just good food and good service. We got cups of clam and fish chowder. Tasted great and portions were very generous. The fish chowder had more fish in it than I've ever seen! And the clam chowder was the perfect consistency—y
For my birthday The causeway supplied delicious trays and trays of chicken parmigiana, ziti with meat sauce, stuffed shells, sausage and meatballs, salad and garlic bread all cooked to perfection. Enjoyed by 30 dear friends and family. Plenty for all. Thank You
Fish soup was really good. I would recommend to try it. Calamari and octopus were also delicious, though the smoke taste of octopus transferred to salad. I did not enjoy the fish. Its taste was dull for me but it is more a personal taste. The portions were huge and price was good.
Eat where the locals eat! So busy but they kept rolling out monster plates of food. We had twin lobster, lobster roll, grilled salmon and Haddock. Started with clam chowder and a cup was huge enough for two and was loaded with clams.
We dined here this evening. Very pleased with our choices. I had the Sirloin steak, companion had the steak tips. The portions were generous and everything was cooked perfectly, even the asparagus. Our server was attentive, friendly and professional. The clam chowder looked really good and I plan to
fish chowder and clam chowder was amazing and full of the seafood, all the fried foods were light and not greasy. wish this place was closer to me
I've been traveling the entire U.S. in an RV for ten years now and have eaten in hundreds of restaurants. Causeway is among the top that I've had the pleasure to try. The grilled Octopus was incredible. I also had a bowl of the Beef Tripe that was hands down the best I've ever had.
We had a cup of clam chowder, a cup of fish chowder, the fried clams/shrimp/haddock platter with fries and coleslaw, a side of onion rings, the fried haddock sandwich with fries and coleslaw and a slice of cheesecake. The chowder, fried fish and fries were delicious. The onion rings could have used
This is all you could ask for a Italian family style restaurant. Friendly service, cheerful fellow dinners, and great food!
Absolutely the most amazing and delicious seafood you will find in New England! Be prepared for large portions too! July 31, 2023 Another visit and every bit as good as always! Prices up as expected but chowder and Peter's plate as good as ever, crammed with scallops, Calamari, clams, shrimp, and ha
Large portion for sure.. the fish chowder has big chunk of fish in every bite. Got mussels for appetizer, also huge portion. Seafood marinara is enormous amount of seafood over linguine for $35. Can't beat that. Fried cod cheeks are perfectly fried served with delicious tartar sauce. Place is tight
I ordered the Pete's Platter, and it did not disappoint. It's comparable to Red Lobster's admiral feast but exponentially better with large scallops and shrimp as well as plentiful calamari. Not to mention the Haddock filet, all was fresh. If this restaurant was located in FL., it would be my weekly
