I love this place! Had the chicken and squash raviolis, and it's was wonderful. The steak tips were delicious and the haddock was light fluffy and sweet And the house cab. was really good. I really can't wait to come back. Our waitress was excellent and so accommodating.

We went here for a very late lunch. I ordered the fisherman's platter and my companion had the butternut squash ravioli. The fisherman's platter was excellent. Probably the best scallops I have ever had. Perfectly cooked and a very nice coating. The haddock was good (it was a few thin pieces but still good). And the calamari was very good. I wouldn't hesitate for a second ordering it again. My companions meal was great as well. The combo of the sauce, cranberries and walnuts were great. We did have dessert... the rice pudding, chocolate mousse and lemon cups were excellent. The atmosphere was nice but we were getting buzzed by flies the entire meal. Service was excellent. If you're up this way, don't hesitate to stop in!

The octopus and potato salad was outstanding! Texture of the octopus was perfect and flavor great. Also got the fresh catch skillet, fresh indeed and tasty. The lava beans were too salty, otherwise I'd score food a 5. Excellent service and colorful, relaxed atmosphere. It was crowed but not noisy thanks in part to high ceilings. Easy parking.Right next to the commuter rail station if you're not driving.

This restaurant is exceptionally elegant and sophisticated. Upon arrival, we were immediately captivated by its grand and beautifully adorned building, filled with tasteful decorations. As we stepped inside, we were surrounded by delightful handmade artwork and photographs from the Azores Islands. The culinary experience was nothing short of exquisite. We savored dishes like little necks in a flavorful white wine sauce, warm bread accompanied by fragrant olive oil, tender octopus, and delectable stuffed shrimp. For dessert, we indulged in a rich chocolate mousse and the delightful Portuguese pastry, pasteis de nata. One unique feature we appreciated was the presence of a charming Portuguese store within the restaurant. It offered a wide range of Portuguese products, including tuna, olive oil, Portuguese beverages, olives, pimentos, and much more. We left with a strong desire to return in the future, as our dining experience at this establishment was truly remarkable.

Great food, especially if you love seafood. The octopus was very good, we had octopus in the salad appetizer and there was grilled octopus in one of the specials that we ordered. Their fish and shrimp dishes were also very tasty. Wish I’d had room for dessert!

This is a Portuguese restaurant with many seafood selections on their appetizer and main menus along with a good selection of wines and cocktails. On a whim, I decided to try their filet mignon steak in wine sauce and it was perfectly cooked and delicious! Their fried calamari and garlic shrimp appetizers were mouth-wateringly good! The service was fast and very friendly. Will definitely go back.

A varied and delicious menu with lots of wonderful dishes to enjoy. This is a non pretentious place but is a wonderful venue to enjoy a great meal in bustling surroundings. Highly recommend!

Quaint little resturant that specializes in Azorean cuisine. Superb wine list and they recork your bottle to take home. I recommend the fish stew!

We came around 4pm for a dinner on Sunday, was no wait. Place started to get more crowded towards 5:30. I got a seafood cataplana that tasted great - just a little spicy. My party members got daily specials and their meals tasted great as well. The inside is well styled and comfortable. Our server was polite and explained menu options. Coffee wasn’t bad but my latte had no foam at all. Surprisingly prices weren’t high. Would come back !

Amazing Portuguese restaurant one of the best in the area. Really can’t go wrong everything on the menu is fantastic. My favorite is the seafood trio a combination of garlic, shrimp, garlic calamari, and grilled octopus. The Mozambique shrimp is fantastic as well. Do yourself a favor try a glass of the green wine.

Firstly, the waitress we had was so incredibly kind and patient. It was my first time here and she spent a lot of time giving us time and answering my questions. The octopus I got was so good and tender. Wasn't chewy at all, and the paella was a pretty good portion with a lot of seafood in it. At the end of the meal, it looked like we hardly touched the paella despite us eating a lot of it lol My partner got a fried fish dish with fries and he liked that as well. We got some flan and rice pudding for dessert and it was decent. Not as good as the main dishes though which was the highlight. I would definitely love to come back here when I'm in the area again.

Very interesting restaurant serving food that most Americans have not tasted before but has a rich history going back hundreds of years. I had the haddock Portuguese style and it was very tasty. In Gloucester you can never go wrong having haddock. The restaurant is clean and very comfortable. The waitstaff are super friendly and helpful with food suggestions. This is a popular place with the locals and now my family. Enjoy a great restaurant in Gloucester! Go and enjoy great food!

Really enjoyed the overall experience. I find it great that the menu isn't too Americanized. I can choose 5 kinds of octopus- how great is that! My table of 6 had clean plates and it was lunchtime. From steak tips, seafood casserole to salmon and Mozambique shrimp. Service was pleasant and attentive.

Let me start I was so happy that I chose this place as we had a lot of options here. This was our First time trying Portuguese food. Wonderful interiors and we reached just before the rush hours so was seated immediately and parking was available just outside the place. Our waitresses was nice and friendly and the staff here is also friendly. We ordered the fish cakes for starters it was so nice, fresh and crispy. The cocktails were also very nice totally worth the price. For mains we had salmon and the branzino fish ( this is from the special menu) and it was totally worth it. The Mohilo Vilo sauce was just so perfect! It went great with the fishes. The best part was the dessert, it was best part of the day. Anyone who loves chocolate go for it ~Chocolate Decadence. It was the best dessert I had in a while. Would highly recommend this place if you are in Gloucester. Worth every penny!

Amazing experience the food taste heaven Excellent customer service We are coming back next time in town

This place was a very pleasant surprise, because we originally tried going to Passports Restaurant in the Gloucester, but gave up after sitting at our table for a half hour waiting to give our drink order. Luckily we quickly found that Azorean Restaurant & Bar was close by and loved the experience. Upon arrival, we were greeted at the door by friendly faces who immediately sat us down in the dining area without a reservation. The place was pretty busy for a Sunday night, and the environment consisted of happy families laughing, the clinking of friends toasting with cocktails, and the beautiful wall to wall Portuguese decor. The whole vibe felt like a big warm hug. Despite being extremely busy, our waitress greeted us almost immediately and took our drink orders. To our surprise, our cocktails quickly arrived and the waitress was ready to take our orders. I commented about how she must have her hands full, because I watched her check in with each table on her way out, and on her way back. But she had a great optimistic point of view, and said something funny to make us all laugh. She definitely contributed to the wonderful experience we had here. My cocktail was the Cool As A Cucumber, which I've had at other places, and it was just as good here. Cucumber vodka, St Germain, and lime make up the core of this refreshing drink. Along with that, I decided to try the Linguica With Pineapple. To my surprise, it was very similar to kielbasa with a mild spicy finish, but it was not greasy at all. It was grilled beautifully, and each bite with a little bit of pineapple was an exceedingly pleasant experience. I would order this again in a heartbeat. For my main course I had the Chicken Medallions with Butternut Squash Ravioli. It was prepared beautifully, in a wine cream sauce that had walnuts and dried cranberries. Definitely on the sweet and savory side of dinners, I really enjoyed this, and was practically licking my plate when finished. My friend ordered the Azorean Steak Tips with Portuguese Fries. Both were beautifully cooked, and me being a French fry connoisseur, I have to say that the Portuguese fries were pretty great. We're not sure if they should have been eaten with ketchup or some other kind of dipping sauce, but they were actually very good and crispy on their own. For dessert, we shared what I believe was a Chocolate Mousse Torte. It was absolutely delicious, and kudos to the waitress who warned us there were only three left halfway through our meal. I don't know if I've ever heard anyone describe a dessert so beautifully, so much so that the table next to us also ordered one in the middle of their meal. And trust me, it lived up to the hype! Overall, this was a wonderful experience. The Portuguese flavors mixed with a warm friendly environment, more than made up for the disappointing experience we had at the previous place. In fact, I should probably thank the other restaurant for inadvertently redirecting us to Azorean Restaurant, because we really had a great time there.

The octopus was very delicious. I got the Lisbon style with olive oil, herbs, and garlic.

The food service location in the building fantastic my first time in there I heard about their food I never it Unto this past weekend hands-down I love them if I have to go back near Boston in the future I'm sure I would not mind to drive a few extra miles to have their food. I am A Brazilian national I know our food is very similar to Portuguese food but I have never had food from the island very nice can't wait to go back.

This place is amazing! We come with our best friends at least once a month! The sangria, the steak, the octopus, pork. Everything is delicious. The atmosphere and staff are great.

Real good Portuguese traditional food! They put a Metertraining twist on everything they serve. Great atmosphere, great food, great prices! Servers are super helpful! Highly recommend!

This place brings me back to the Azores....the food is awesome, the staff is great and the prices are so reasonable. It's a must visit when we come to the Gloucester area!!!

We've been to the Azorean a few times over the last 2 years and thoroughly enjoy it. The portions are sizable, the offerings delicious and authentic and the service friendly and prompt. You must try the Kale & Linquica soup, which for $5.00 is a meal unto itself. The fish dishes are delectable.

Excellent food , service. We visit 2/3 times year when on Cape Ann .. always recommend to friends ...the braised beef with carrots and potato is fabulous. Husband had baked stuffed shrimp and was thrilled with it ...

the atmosphere is very authentic and the food was very good. although my wife and i didn't love what we had, we are excited to try out the rest of the huge and varied menu. if the menu was smaller and the place not so authentic, we probably would think twice about coming back, but, charm is half the battle in an ethnic restaurant. we will post more soon!

Dinner for two, meals came out 10 minutes apart, my grilled seafood plate took the longest for some reason. Then the shrimp were under cooked, salmon, scallops, and squid cold and cooked to death. Told the “manager”, he didn’t seem to care....oh well, I guess they don’t mind losing a customer.

Absolutely delicious. The Fried Calamari with Molho Vilao was cooked perfect and is some of the best calamari I have ever had. The baked stuffed haddock was good and the Portuguese haddock was different, yet amazing.

The food was great. Didn’t appreciate the waitress running after me to tell me the tip was not included in the bill. I guess they don’t get paid with cash. I paid with a hundred dollar bill, the bill was 52 and change. I had left a 20 on the table more then enough for serving two people.

Love love love the Azorean! We go here several times a year as we don't live too close. We went last night as an early Mother's Day dinner. I got the haddock supreme, to die for! My husband got his favorite, the paella so delicious! We also got the owners mix appetizer. Excellent! And our waiter Dan was fantastic! I love coming here for Portuguese food and a good time!

Great place, fast service, large variety of choices on the menu and all desserts homemade. I'll be back
