This is one of the best Mexican food restaurants I’ve discovered and frequent it as my go to spot. The chips are unlike any other all you can eat I’ve had, definitely hand made and not the bulk let downs you find everywhere. Menu is exhaustive which is never a plus but I’ve never had a guest I take out complain about anything they’ve ordered. Service is slow but the kitchen is fast once they have an order. Prices are compatible and a good value for the portions.

This is our first time visiting under the new ownership. I've been wanting to go back for some time, and the opportunity arose when a nearby restaurant told us that there was no service for the outdoor seating, and a 45 minute wait to get seated. You can imagine where I wanted to tell what to do with their 45 minutes. At Tafolino's, there is ample indoor seating in a comfortably air conditioned dining room. The staff was very prompt, cheerful, and courteous, and gratefully did not pester us with "is everything okay?" all evening. The menu is extensive. We had Chicken Mole and fish tacos, both of which were perfectly made and presented. I like the local style of preparation as the portions are adequate without being overwhelming like you get at places in other parts of the country. Give it a try. You'll like it.

I ordered the two Chile Relleno dinner, came with chile rellenos, beans and rice. When they put the plate infront of me, I thought it was a mistake. The chile rellenos were maybe a little more than 2 inches long... Almost the same size of frozen pizza rolls. When I cut into them, it was slices of peppers with melted cheese. Very disappointed with portion size especially for the cost. The wait staff was friendly but it took a long time to get our food.

If you are looking for authentic good Mexican food, this is the best place to go. The food comes with the choice of hot (green) or not so hot (red). The staff are some of the friendliest you can find! And did I mention the food is GREAT!? And the Sopapillas are fantastic!

Always our favorite Mexican restaurant. I always get the pablano burrito which is amazing. You do have to get used to the style of service. The people don’t appear very friendly, but they will take care of you and are very quick.
Sometimes they will refill your Sprite with water :(

Other than the waiters this former 5 star Mexican gets1 star. The so called mild is hardly a sauce at all. We ordered and paid for beef and bean. We received just beef . The only good was the guacamole. This use to be our bi weekly 10 years ago. Sad!! Jamie's on Jewell in Lakewood here we continue to come.

Deliciously different yet authentic approach to Mexican food at this hidden gem in Applewood between Wheat Ridge, Lakewood and Golden. Tonight I ordered the vegetarian burrito supreme. Courteous servers and support staff made the experience wonderful.

First time is the last time. We recently moved to the neighborhood and were looking for mexican food on a Sunday night. We thought we would order carry out since we returned from a long day in the outdoors and were not quite presentable for a sit down meal. We ordered by phone and picked up on the way home. Our order was ready when we arrived. Our total was presented. The person handling our transaction made a very loud flippant remark directly to us about not leaving a tip. It's carry out. Tips are for service. Taking our money, making change and handing us food is not service. That is a transaction. We are good tippers when we sit down but we don't tip at the Taco Bell drive through either! The embarrassment of the one person's behavior put a damper on our meal. The food became cold within the 5 minutes it took to get home, the beans were grey and the meat was greasy. We will not be back. Too bad, we were hoping to be regulars here:(

Tafolino's Definitely going downhill!!. I have been eating at Tafolino's for over 10 years. The last 3-4 visits have been extremely disappointing, but none so bad as Friday evening. The service was terrible (non-existent), and the food was as bad as I've ever had there. The waiter never brought us water, never checked to see how our food tasted, didn't bring us our check (we finally had to go to the register and pay), and never brought a glass for my beer, in spite of asking him twice. Then to top it all off, they wouldn't honor their own 1/2 off entrée coupon. I will NEVER go back to Tafolino's again! Oh, by the way, for a Friday night, they were empty! Should tell you something about their recent ways.

Just not the same!. My friend and I have been eating here for years,always loved the food! This past Saturday (3\7\15) we met to have lunch, I must say we were very disappointed in the food. The meat in the tacos appeared to be boiled, it was gray and consistency was like mush. The rest of our order was off also, no flavor at all. We noticed the last time we were there, 6 months ago, it was a little different. This time it was really bad. I hope they can fix this, they have been around for years.

Vist of August 3rd, 2014. I have been eating at Tafolino's ever since they began way back when. Food has always been tops. But ate there recently and it was disgusting. Never again. Don't know what has changed but the food is awful. What was supposed to be steak looked like square cubes of cat food. Chili was not the same and big slabs of uncooked onion - YUK - I won't go back for another episode. My friend had a different order and it was a total mess also. I think the original cooks/owner whatever has left the bldg.

We had a groupon and tried this place out. The place was crowded for 5pm dinner (good sign for the food) but we were seated right away. <br/><br/>The food was amazing. The chips and green salsa were made in house and yummy. I love the bacon wrapped jalapeño. My only complaint is for them to serve more salsa with the chips.

Never Again. I have been to this location over the years and the food and service were always very good. However, in the last six months I have been to this location twice, both times the food was terrible and the service even worse. Both times food was served luke warm and the green chili had no flavor. Not sure what has happened, but this is definitely not worth another visit.
