If I could give 10 stars, I absolutely would. My friends and I arrived after closing and not only did the kind owner Randy offer to serve us soup and salad nonetheless (the grill was off), she also then also offered call several other restaurants to find us a place to have dinner. We stayed and had the most delicious soup, delicious Caesar salad, warm fresh bread, cocktails, and then ended with perhaps some of the yummiest cheesecake and apple crisp I've had. During our trip to this area, we have been met with some of the loveliest people and Randy tops the list as being the most generous, accommodating, friendly, funny and warm hostess. She's exactly the kind of person you want to be the owner of a restaurant you walk into after closing. We thoroughly enjoyed getting to talk with her and our wonderful dinner and dessert. The restaurant is beautiful and the owners are fantastic. I will make it a point to come back many more times when coming to visit this beautiful area.

Had my birthday dinner here tonight. Everything was perfect and delicious! I had the rib eye. It was melt in your mouth. Pasta carbonara was Amazing! Creme brûlée was the best I ever had. So creamy good. And my lemon drop drink was yummy! Can't wait to come back.

The clam chowder was the best I've had, with bacon. My wife's grizzly salad was great. We shared the pan seared halibut special and the chicken Gorgonzola, both delicious. Finished with a huge cookie ice cream fudge dessert. We stayed at the nearby Chalet View Lodge. A wonderful overnight getaway from Reno.

April and I had a great meal for her birthday dinner and Tyler did a great job as our waiter. From the app to desert everything was perfect. Thank-you Randi, Chris and Brenda.

For a small town it was fabulous, heck for a big town it was fabulous. Had the Ribeye, peppered, Chris the chef cooked it to perfection. Service was great, entire staff watched out for you.

Hard to believe a place like this exists relatively out in the middle of nowhere (no offense, it's gorgeous out there). The peppercorn-encrusted NY steak is just to die for. Makes both my mouth and eyes water! Pairs well with a nice glass of red wine and a stay at the nearby Chalet View Lodge in Portola. :)

The atmosphere in this place is like a cabin..it's cosy, a tiny bit loud due to the hard surfaces but a very convivial atmosphere. I always forget to take pix of the interior. The food was just ok. If I could give it 3.5 stars I would. I ordered the lamb shank which I pretty much always do if it's on a menu. The description said it comes over white bean. I love white bean. But really it came smothered in a brown sauce that had white beans in it. I fished the lamb shank and the white beans out of the thick gravy and ate it separately. The lamb shank was tender fall off the bone as you would expect. I just wish it hadn't been buried in sauce. Well prepared lamb shank doesn't need too much. Mark had the salmon which was perfectly cooked. I am disappointed that for the price my dish didn't come with a veg. The server explained that it comes with white bean (which to me isn't quite a veg). I ordered a side if sauteed spinach which was delicious. The clam chowder starter was flavourful and had a good amount of tender clams although it was a little salty. Overall the food was decent and the service was outstanding. There's a decent selection of wine and a bit of a surprise at dessert with the beignets. Those of you who follow me know we spend a portion of the year in New Orleans. The beignets here were served warm with 3 sauces. Not quite as fluffy as I like my beignets but pretty decent nonetheless. My father in law inhaled them. :-)

The food was delicious and our server was really nice. My brother and his wife helped a woman who was having a health problem and her son paid for our meal. Interesting evening but a great place for dinner.

Nice place, good menu selection… first time here and was bummed, paid a pretty penny for the prime rib special, told the waiter I like my cut pretty pink, not raw but pink throughput…. Asked should I order med rare or medium to get a nice pink piece. My prime rib was cooked thoroughly…. No pink. 🥹

This Grizzly is by far one of the best, most consistent, restaurants in the area. Not just the food is amazing but the service is awesome. There isn't one thing on the menu I can say is my favorite because everything is amazing. If you happen to go on a Friday, the clam chowder is a must try. They also have one of the best ribeyes around. I forgot to take pics before diving into our food but I did take a few still.

This was a lovely spot to eat dinner! I had the shrimp scampi which was good. However, my husband had the lamb shank which was excellent! The side salad that came with dinner was great. They have delicious homemade blue cheese dressing. My husband enjoyed the soup of the day, cheesey potatoe. We both had a "Traditional Moscow Mule" to drink. We were too full for dessert.

I first came here 3 years ago, and visited for the second time today. Had a delicious meal and excellent service both times. It's hard to find good food in this part of the Sierras, and this place is definitely a gem.

Randi & Chris you run a 5 star restaurant, our meal was delicious! 😋 and the service was excellent. I had the lobster & crab pasta and my husband had the prime rib. And for dessert we shared the cheese cake. It also was very delicious also. We will definitely return and do highly recommend your restaurant.

Would give a 10 if I could. The prime rib was the best I've had in months; tender, juicy and great flavor. Hubby had fall off the bone, delicious ribs. Our waitress and busser were fast and friendly. The biegnets were light, delicate and devoured in a wink. Will definitely be back!

Amazing dinner! Fruit of the sea gf, by far the best I have ever had. They change out the noodles with rice. They accomodated my celiac. My sons 14 bd. Sang the bd song, candle etc.. though we did not ask. Service was impecable! Others had the salmon, chicken picata and kids noodles! All dessert were incred. It is family owned and it is now our go to resteraunt in graeagle.
