Visited on a Friday evening. My 16 year old choose The Kirby House. The service was great, and the food was good. Definitely got a college kid hang out vibe. There was a DJ playing music (with videos) and was taking requests.
A go-to place while visiting Grand Haven. The atmosphere (both inside and out) makes for a fun location, with a friendly staff, live music and great food! Even if your just swinging by and need a stack, you HAVE to try to Rosemary Fries...delicious! The last time there I also had their Chicken Burrito and fell in love. Can't go wrong with the Thia lettuce wraps either.
Really good french fries and a tasty (though huge) burrito drowned in a variety of sauces. The hummus dip didn't impress, but overall still a good experience.
Best view of Lake Michigan, most romantic atmosphere in Grand Haven Michigan. Servers were extra nice, we waited for an open table upstairs to dine and watch the beautiful sunset then sat outside for drinks on the beach where the gas fireplace tables helped keep us warm. Wonderful
Food was really good, it was quick, drinks were really nice, good sized meals for the prices. Staff was very friendly and understanding towards my two year old
The food was great, but the service was incredible. Our waiter Dawson really made our experience incredible! The overall vibes of this establishment make it a go-to when in Grand Haven.
Also - don’t leave without ordering the watermelon basil margarita.
It's like you're walking into a little tropical beach deck live music joint but all inside, great place! There's a couple large TVs up front for sports watching at the bar. Maybe a bit expensive for a family lunch but definitely great for a date night or friends groups. Also a teeny pricey but definitely worth it, the food is always banging! They also have good happy hour specials! This is their salmon BLT and chips.
Stopped by during 4th of July weekend last year and got a table on their rooftop overlooking the water and Grand Haven’s charming downtown! Their bloodys were soo good and served in a trendy glass. 5 of us also got the nachos to share and they were a 10/10. Will definitely come back again when I’m visiting Grand Haven in the future!
Full disclosure we only ate here because our last name is Kirby and we figured it was a sign we were supposed to eat here.
Our server was super nice but a little slow to get to our table. She was very chatty with all of her tables so it wasn’t bad service, just slower than we expected. She was really nice. We were seated outside and ordered from the Kirby Grill menu because we wanted steaks. There seemed to be some confusion about whether or not we could do that but the hostess said yes so we did. I got a filet, my husband got a ribeye. Steaks were okay but nothing to write home about. I got macaroni and cheese as a side and it was actually really gross. Our server kindly took it off of our bill.
Outdoor seating area was small and tightly packed but pleasant enough. Definitely casual and more suited to the house side of the menu than to the grill side.
All in all I would try it again, but would have lower expectations for food quality and atmosphere.
One of the best restaurant in Grand Haven Downtown. Chicken Chilli was delicious, highly recommended it. Salmon dish wasn't the best , Salmon was overcooked . But Steak and Rosemary fries was perfect.
Kids had so much fun with writing their name on walls 🤗 Prices are fair .
Pretty good - variety of drinks, burgers, pizza, bar, kids menu, fun atmosphere, outdoor deck seating upstairs. Most impressed with the yard games upstairs on the second floor. Shuffle board, huge Jenga/connect 4, ping pong, darts etc.
We just had our reception over the weekend at the Kirby House, and it could not have been more perfect. From the very first phone call with the event manager, Lesa, to our first tour of the place, to choosing food and the actual party, it was all seamless and easy as could be. The food and service were wonderful, and they made our party run so smoothly and without any stress to us. I'd recommend the Kirby house to anyone looking for a place to have a meal, as well as anyone throwing a party. Thanks Kirby House, we will be back!

This is definitely a restaurant I would visit again. Outdoor seating and music during the summer time. They are pet friendly, Im assuming outside area only. We had the nachos with the choice of plant based chicken, super good! Drinks where good and the service was excellent. Our watress Abby was a great server and very friendly. Their website also has a lineup of musicians/bands.
I wasn't disappointed, I just wasn't impressed either. Overall food was good, not great. The vegetarian options for plentiful so that was nice. Steak on the steak fries was overcooked. The absolute best part was our server Alex. He went above and beyond with trying to get us some shade outside and brought a bowl & water for our pupper without us needing to ask
Two weeks ago I came to Grand Haven to visit from Kentwood and went to this amazing restaurant. We got there about noon. I sat outside on the patio with my little dog Lola and was still struggling physically from my car accident. Sid my waitress went above and beyond to make sure I was happy. I was on a new gluten free and dairy free diet but she helped me find options to cater to my needs. Before 1-2pm the options lessen. The fish tacos were delicious! I'm truly grateful for Sid's compassion towards me and excellent customer service. She even took care of Lola for me while I went to the bathroom inside.
