Exactly what you'd expect a classic drive-in burger to taste like. The food is made simple and fresh, without seasoning, so what you get is the flavors of the ingredients that were used. The double cheeseburger was decent enough, the order arrived fast, and the car hop got everything right. It was an interesting experience, a slice of history, if you will, but some of the food could use an upgrade. I had high expectations once I pulled the perfectly cooked onion rings from my bag, but they didn't have much flavor, save for the oil they were cooked in. Same goes for the unsalted fries, but I added chili, cheese, and onions to them so they ended up being quite tasty. Next time I'll probably just get the burger and a root beer!

The woman who served us was so sweet! The Chilli cheese burger was good, the steak sandwich was a chicken fried steak style sandwich which I really enjoyed. The onion rings were great super crispy, the fries were super soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. The shakes were honestly not my favorite, but I kind of really love this place. It has its own charm and the food is inexpensive yet satisfying, wish I'd given this place a chance sooner.

Theo's Drive-In is a place everyone should visit. They have the old-fashioned drive in where you park and someone comes and takes your order. She was super friendly and told us the menu, even though it was right in front of us.
The food is great, my wife and I have had their burgers in the past, and had a corn dog this trip. All the food was fresh, and corn dog was perfect, it tasted just like a corn dog from the fair! Their fries are the thick-cut fries, and crispy, just as fries ought to be. Their shakes and root beer floats taste fantastic. The wife got a cherry shake, and it was delicious!
We look forward to visiting Theo's any time we can!

The hamburgers are out of this world! They bring back fond memories of when I was a child and we would go get a hamburger on dad's pay day!!! The waitress comes to your car, takes your order.... if you eat it there, they bring the clip on tray that goes on to your window! It is an oldie but a GOODIE!!!!!

Theo's is a very cute old-fashioned drive-in. The lady who came out to take our order was very sweet and hospitable.
My husband and I both got the Double Bacon Cheeseburger, it was really good. The paddy was a little thin for my liking (still would reorder it though), but my husband loved it.
I got the onion rings, they were very crispy and delicious. Additional bonus, the onions didn't slip out of the breading!!!
My husband got the steak fries, crispy on the outside but still fluffy on the inside. Just yuuuuummm!
We also got root beer floats, my only complaint is the same one I have with all root beer floats, there's never enough. Someone should make root beer floats by the gallon! But other than that they were perfect.
In conclusion, the staff was great, the food was tasty, it was a little more expensive than I was expecting (but you're paying for quality), and we will be going back soon:)

I celebrated my PhD yesterday in this great restaurant. happy to tell that we had a delightful evening and the venue was evidently one of the reasons for the outstanding meeting. The crew helped in a lovely style, the cuisine was appetizing and my guests were so thrilled. We shall surely return for more celebrations. Thank you very much.

So glad we took a quick detour off the highway near Dallas to eat lunch at Theo's Drive in in Grand Prairie, TX. If that colorful vintage sign doesn't get you, the friendly service and delish classic burgers will! We pulled up under the checkmark canopy at Theo's and initially thought we'd go for the classic car-hop experience, as the waitress came right out to our car. However we smartly realized we were barely into a 10-12 hour journey and this meal was our one opportunity to be OUT of the car, so we went into the low slug cinderblock building. Not as picturesque but good for our road moods. During our Retro Roadtrip I learned that confessing your tourist ways can often bring pleasant results, so when I told the waitress we had never been there and were just passing through, she recommended we get their classic burger. 2 please, with cheese! After seeing this sign on their property I knew what I had to order to wash that down: Yep, I got a root beer. Not sure if it was Cre - Mel bran
