Wanted to try a different restaurant, so I looked on Yelp. This restaurant was recommended. I ordered the catfish basket for $4.99, and when I got my food, I was surprised. For that price, I get 2 large filets, plus fries, and 3 hush puppies. Wow! I took a bite, and it was the best catfish I've had in the area. I have put this restaruant as my go-to place when I'm craving fried catfish.
Really really good!. Ate here for the first time today - what a delightful place! I had the catfish, shrimp & oyster platter and every single bite was excellent. My son had the grilled pork chop & said it was fantastic. Huge portions, great prices & the most delightful manager (owner?) - we'll definitely return!
At first I wondered why our order took so long and then I bit into my catfish. It was moist hot and crisp. And after being in the restaurant business I know how that is accomplished. Catfish doesn't sit out awaiting to be battered. It is refrigerated at proper or below temperatures. And then the cold fresh fish meets the very hot clean oil, for a great end result the homemade tarter only enhanced the experience. The French fries are cooked to order and always hot and fresh.
I have been trying to give up fried foods in order to get into better shape but I have a cheat day set aside for masons and well worth it
Great Place. We had a groupon, so we tried Mason's. What a great surprise! It's in a strip center by the Home Depot in Grand Prairie. It's small, but very clean and nicely decorated. the gentleman that waited on us was very friendly and helpful. We each ordered the Catfish dinners, and also a Cheddar Cheese Stuffed Jalapeno appetizer. Everything was delicious. Prices were very reasonable, and portions were huge. I highly recommend Mason's. We will definitely be going back, with our without a groupon.
The BEST catfish ever!. What a treasure! This place is CLEAN, the service is friendly, polite and efficient, the portions are very generous, the prices are excellent. And most important, the food is fabulous! This is the best fried catfish I have ever put in my mouth....and I have eaten a lot of catfish! The fries are dusted with just a touch of cajun spice, just enough to make them interesting. The cocktail sauce is homemade and wonderful, the tartar sauce is very good. We tried both the fiillets and whole catfish - both are wonderful - crisp outside and moist inside. Ditto for the fried shrimp. Everything is super fresh and prepared to order. Also tried the grilled chicken sandwich, and it was excellent. Good, freshly-made sweet tea This is a new weekly treat for us. I can't think of a single complaint about this dining experience!
Without a doubt the absolute best catfish in Dallas. Great service ,clean as can be and service that is beyond the norm. Lovely people and great food. We will go back. What a find.

DEEEElish. Great service and fresh food, even 30 minutes before closing, only neg comment is that they ran out of gravy, so none for my potatoes. Alot of good food for not alot of money

The food here is fantastic. We had catfish and it was moist. We also tried the wings and jalapeño poppers. Excellent. All the food was fresh and served hot. Counter help very friendly. We will definitely be back.
Showed up just before close but they were nice and took our order. Got the catfish and tenders platter. Ton of food for 5.99 and I have to say it was the best chicken I think I've ever put in my mouth. So tender and juicy and flavorful. This is definitely my spot now for this type of food.
Place is very clean. I'm a germaphobe so believe me when I say that even their restrooms were clean (or atleast I know tge ladies room is). Food is very affordable. We were surprised at how low the prices were. Food was good. And service was great, very friendly.
If you have not eaten here, your missing out. The catfish is perfect. The corn bread is perfectly applied and cooked. The breading to fish ratio is spot on and the oil they use does not over power the taste. Plus the breading sticks to the fish. I am not a seasoned fries fan, but they sprinkle just enough and it only adds a little flavor. The hush puppies are sticks, and as such they cook even all they eat through. The service is fantastic and.... why are you not here, get here, eat this great food, and support a local business.
Their catfish is fantastic! I have been stopping by here for several years and they know how to prepare catfish. They have a special almost every day and you can't beat the price. I have both carried out and eaten in the restaurant. Always a positive experience ! Highly recommended.

I absolutely love Mason’s! My favorite is the fried catfish nuggets. The homemade lemonade is absolutely amazing! The wings are another all time favorite. The burgers, colossal shrimp and pork chops are also delicious favorites. The price is excellent for the quality food. The customer experience is spot on al well!
