Great tapas restaurant! Not cheap but pretty good value for the experience. Plenty of different dishes to try. Really enjoyed our visit.
I had a very nice birthday dinner with my family. The service, food and drinks were all great. We got 7 different tapas and we liked them all (some of course better than others) I think the duck and pork belly was a favorite of all of us. My birthday dessert chocolate cake, with mousse and raspberries was awesome. Our cocktails were also very good. I can't wait to return to try some of our favorites and some new tapas.
Terrific! Stopped by for a quick lunch and absolutely loved it! Our waitress was excellent, helped us with recommendations and took really good care of us. The food was excellent, well prepared and the presentation was on point. I highly recommend giving this place a try!

Met some friends here that I have not seen in way too long and was one of their favorite restaurants, and I can definitely taste and see why.
Not only does the food taste like art, but it looks like it, too.
We have been here before and had a great time, so we decided to stop in for tapas during ArtPrize. Abby was our server and she was polite, friendly, and checked in at multiple points in the meal. All of our tapas were delicious. We ordered 4 small plates plus dessert, and it was more than enough for the two of us. Hats off the service staff and the kitchen.
Very friendly staff! They really interact with you and enjoy their job and I love that! Food was great and the atmosphere was great as well! Fun with a group of people! Highly recommend for a night out!

Love this place. The food is always good, albeit not quick at all. Everything always seems fresh, and reminds me of Spain. Bathrooms clean. Service is always friendly and helpful, drinks are good and many selections.
Pros: the food was very flavorful. I like the atmosphere. The drinks cocktails were very good. I would recommend Bistek con pimienta!
Cons: I wish their were more options for dinner like the tapas places in Spain. I wish they had oxtail. I didn’t feel like I was in Spain when eating the dishes which that’s what I was hoping for. I wish the Chicken and chorizo dish had some veggies or rice with the dish for what the cost of the dish is. I can’t complain about the cost bc granted, it is located downtown.
I will have to try the brunch.
Amazing food, vegetarian friendly options. Less gluten free options, but they were able to accommodate celiac friendly. The salmon Benedict was incredible. Great mimosa options.
Our waitress, Jessica K, took great care of us and our table for our company dinner! We had a fantastic time. She was attentive, personable, and gave great recommendations. The food and drinks were amazing and we are so glad we decided to have our dinner at San Chez!
I loved the vibe of the place. It’s a Spanish cuisine. I went with a group of 7 and we were able to order different appetizers and plates for all of us to share and we were able to also divide the bill equally among all of us. The waiter was super helpful, patient and kind with the whole group. They have gluten-free, vegetarian options. The had a good playlist on mixed with Spanish songs too.
Can never praise San Chez enough… my boyfriend and I both agree that some of our best meals together have been here. We’ve been to some incredible restaurants but the flavors, atmosphere, service, and overall vibe of San Chez are hard to beat. Fabulous menu selection and the chefs know what they’re doing- dishes are always consistent from visit to visit and exciting to eat. The bartender last time we were there brought our espresso martinis right to us to finish them off table-side with little drawings out of cream & chocolate on the top- it made for an even more personable and fun dining experience. Never miss up an opportunity to go !

We had an amazing brunch! Our server Layne was truly amazing! He was so in tune to our needs and was always right there when we needed him. Food was delicious and not one complaint! We had 15 in our party and seated upstairs. Perfect spot and they even let us decorate! Highly recommend San Chez!!
My wife & I had the pleasure to visit San Chez for dinner before our show. And again, everything was outstanding. The food was perfect - portion size; tender pasta, as well as flavorful beef/seafood dishes served with beautiful, savory sauces. These delicious morsels were served by outstanding waitress Jess! She was attentive, well-spoken and walked us through the desserts. Who knew there were gluten free desserts? We shall return time and again to this gem of Grand Rapids and hope to be served by Jess!
What a fantastic meal we had! They were able to not only accommodate vegetarian, vegan and gluten free, the taste was incredible. Excellent service by Derek who knew the menu very well. It is a little loud, but we were seated upstairs away from the chaos of downstairs. The flavor of the artichokes was especially delightful (pictured below).
When traveling to grand rapids, I always try to make time to visit this wonderful restaurant. They just do things right here. The staff is always friendly and well trained. It’s right downtown so there’s that whole downtown city vibe going on!
This trip we ordered white bean and quinoa, patties, calamari, shrimp Fuego. The sauce that accompanied every dish was different and completely delicious. The first bite will captivate your taste buds.
And of course you have to get a Mojito.
