We had the breakfast burrito, veggie quesadilla, pork belly taco, chips and queso and 2 Bloody Maria's. Everything was great and service was top notch. As manager and chef of Raven Brewing and BBQ I would recommend this place to anybody.
Wow! Tuesday night 45 minutes wait for a table not too many other places can say that in the area. Took my wife for our 8 year anniversary skipped waiting for a table and had a great meal right at the bar. Bar staff amazing from the bar back to the bar tender. Food was amazing from the chips to the queso something we ate out of this work. No room left for churros a bit sad! Can’t say enough of this place every time we go it is awesome. Also because my wife is pregnant I opted for a bottle of Diet Coke yum!!! Thanks for the amazing service and warm environment. Who needs TVs on every wall when you have this place. Oh and the prices are so fair so if you are thinking about a price hike don’t do it!
Excellent staff, great atmosphere, tear-worthy (in the best way) food at a reasonable price. Go get it. (But write down the address, because the only thing missing from this place is signage!)
The Torta De Jamon was the best “sandwich” I’ve ever eaten!! Three days later, and I’m still thinking about it. I wish I’d ordered 10 and brought them home. SO good!!!
Margaritas are to die for. Bomb Ass guacamole. Our server Spencer did great!!
I loved our server, she was fun and had great tequila knowledge as we ordered a flight. We chased our flights with Paloma’s my first time having one. And because we had to eat to soak up the alcohol We feasted. The tacos were the other white meats. We dined on the pork and fish tacos and they were awesome. I celebrate each Wednesday with lunch out with my lovely daughter and I want to thank you for a wonderful time.
Always a top contender when deciding where we want to eat/drink. One of my favorite places. If I had to complain I’d say it’s always busy so we have to wait which sucks, but a lively restaurant is what makes it fun so it’s not even a negative

Fantastic restaurant! They really know how to make a margarita. Their house sauces are awesome, and their food never disappoints. One of my favorites places in Grand Rapids!

Probably the best margaritas I’ve ever had. The taquitas were yummy. Justin, bartender, was great too. Wonderful experience.
As regulars, we love Donkey but the chips that were replaced a little over a year ago are terrible and nowhere near a close replacement. Please, please, please bring back the former tortilla chips…they were perfect, you could even eat them plain. We’d gladly pay more for the old version! We used to eat all the chips brought out with the guacamole/salsa, now we barely eat 1/4 of them. In fact, if we order extra food to bring home, we decline the chips. Your chips used to make you stand out above other taco places.
Aside from the chips, the food and margaritas are still excellent. Thank you for bringing back the rice (it’s so good!) and the added cauliflower options are great! We love the staff, they’re always knowledgeable about the menu and extremely personable.
The restaurant itself is cozy with nice Spanish music that isn't too loud, so you can have pleasant conversation. The waitstaff was also friendly and attentive, bringing water refills and extra napkins unprompted.
The chips and queso were great, with the latter being cream with a nice kick. The hongos taco was nice, though the barbacoa was a little dry. Overall, I'd recommend dining here and plan to try some of their other tacos the next time I'm in the area.
I see This as a speciality taco place ! Al Pastor & Barbacoa are absolute top notch just like their service ! The ambiance is good, great outdoor seating for the warm weather. My go to Taco place for delicious lamb !
Tacos and beans were tasty but the guac was kind of boring. It was clearly fresh with quality ingredients, just needed a little acid and salt. Between hubby and I we tried 5 different tacos and they were all good but the pescado was my favorite.
We had an issue when we were seated and didn't get service for quite some time but once she arrived our server was very nice and did a great job.
Came here for lunch yesterday with my co-workers and got seated right away! (I know this is normally not the case, especially in the summer, as they can get super busy).
We started off with chips & and guacamole, which was great! We each got three tacos, which tasted delicious. They took a while to come out and came all mixed up on different plates, which was confusing to figure out which was who's, but nonetheless, it was still good food!
Note: Their tacos are more on the expensive end ($5/taco) and margaritas run small (compared to an authentic Mexican restaurant) but for the area that's expected.
Had a great time with my colleagues here. The food was great, they had no problem doing special orders for us (food allergies). Noah was an excellent and patient server.
We sat in the igloos and loved it, only rated 4 stars due to the time limit.
Amazing tacos and a great atmosphere on the patio. Prices were reasonable too! Everyone’s favorite was the fish taco - highly recommend!
Chips and queso excellent. Tacos were good but I’m not the biggest fan of the tortilla which is a little bland/dry. For the cost, the tacos should have more fillings on them. Churros were an excellent dessert. Good service and atmosphere.
Such a great taquiera! The inside is modern, cute & clean, the outdoor seating is awesome for nice weather! The tacos were amazing, I had the carnitas street tacos & a prickly pear margarita (they have won Best Margarita the past 3 years and I can see why!) My friends had the brussel sprouts street tacos & they were in love! We highly recommend trying Donkey Taqueria!
