This is definitely one of the best hometown bars I have been to. We were "newbies" but still made to feel welcome. The staff was on top of everything and very friendly. Definitely looking forward to attending Chruch at the Birch on Sunday.

I love the food and vibes here. It’s very much a classic dive bar, and the food is great. The fiesta salad is my favorite. Only con is the recent spike in prices. It’s just way too much for dive bar food.. $10 for a side of onion rings or fries is a lot. You can get a cheaper meal at a restaurant.

Best place to eat and have a beer in GR! It's interesting. It's like a pub with 5 star food. Wait staff has a positive vibe. Great place.

First time here, very friendly, nice crowd of people for 2 pm. Service was good. I had the Lodge Burger which was excellent. Big burger and lots of fries for the money. Loaded up with cheese and bacon. Definitely worth getting again. Nice place with lots of seating. I’ll be back.

Was lucky enough to meet my younger brother at this nice little spot for lunch today with a few colleagues. Great location, good menu and service, I can’t say enough good things about. Tray (spelling?) was so cool- he took care of our group and was very forward on the recommendations and all was great!! I think my favorite was the Asian wings with spicy ranch... burger was pretty good too. I’ll definitely go again and I think I Great place is going in next door so very excited to spend more time In this area

All I want in a place to stay is cleanliness and reasonably priced. This hotel exceeded both my expectations and more. Complimentary kayaks, paddle boards, etc. They provided muffins, oatmeal, juice in the morning. They even supplied the room with goodie bags for my dogs. The location is about an hour-hour 1/2 away from of Sault St. Marie, Tahquamanon Falls, Pictured Rocks, Mackinaw City. The outside of the Inn needs some upkeep (it’s a 1912 house) but don’t let that deter you from staying. They owners have done an excellent job remodeling. If I had one complaint it would be that the water did not drain as fast as I would like in both the sink and tub. However, I can easily look past that provided everything else this hotel had to offer. 10/10 would stay here again.

Some awesome drink deals and a decent space. It can get a bit crowded and you’ll definitely wake up with a hangover after a night here, but it’s a pretty fun spot!

Fun bar. Would be my local if I lived closer. Amazing tall G&T. Delicious veggie burrito which was the Wednesday special. Loud but fun atmosphere.

Super cheap happy hour. Good friendly service. When you just want to go to a bar and not break the bank come here. If I lived in the neighborhood I would be here twice a week for sure

We just dropped in while we were visiting the area and we ended up back a second night. We have a bar The Merch back home so we had to go to the Birch and we felt right at home here. Staff was friendly and nice.

This is gonna make me sound like an old curmudgeon, but I'm going for it anyway. First of all, I love this place. It has the most insanely affordable happy hours in Grand Rapids (which is surprisingly good), It's a fun place to get drunk and have fun with friends, and the atmosphere takes you from a busy city, to feeling like you've stepped in to an old cabin bar out in the sticks. The ONLY thing that keeps me from coming here more often (and here comes the curmudgeon part) is the level they play their music. The music itself isn't the issue. It's the volume. It's hard to have a decent conversation with anyone here, let alone even think clearly enough to convey a clear thought. It's like club level loud. Which really doesn't mesh well with the hunting cabin/lodge vibe the original owner was clearly going for. Besides that, I still go somewhat regularly when I'm in the mood for that.
