It lived up to the actual reviews, this place is quiet, cozy and delicious. I tried the steak and the chicken and waffles. Both dishes were supreme, and the beer OMG I'm a hug fan of red ales and the beer didn't disappointed at all. 10/10. My only concern is that I won't be able to come back any time soon. But If you are around GR área, give this a try.

Food and chefs are amazing, so is all the wait staff. Stopped in for a pint, and they had a battle of the chefs event, where each made their own unique slider. Cast my vote, but truly awesome food.

Chris & Karen, two recovering attorneys, opened this place a little over 5 yrs ago and both the menu & beer selection have been steadily increasing. The most recent addition is a BBQ smoker and the wife and I went up to try it out. Extraordinary. The sides of cole slaw, mac & cheese, and a healthy chunk of cornbread were all generous. No wonder why the place has people waiting to get in. Do yourself a favor and make a trip to come to Alger Heights and enjoy Brass Ring Brewing.
My friends and I came in with a party of 4 on a Tuesday that unexpectedly turned into a full dining room/ out door seating for the staff on the last sunny/ warm day of the year. I observed that they were understaffed for the volume of people in their dining room and packed outdoor seating. Our waiter and the only other waiter we saw for a full house did a beautiful job of bouncing between tables, being attentive to every drink, and kind throughout the rush. I 100% believe that these two waiters with a full house sustained a great atmosphere and enjoyable experience. All in all we waited 45 minutes for our food but we didn’t care, the environment this staff created was conducive of good conversations and fellowship, any other restaurant I would’ve walked out of but these employees worked their butt off and proved its truly the people that make a place great.
Brass Ring is so incredible. The staff is welcoming friendly and it feels like they’ve known you for a while. The Bartender was incredibly friendly and incredibly attentive. I had the brown ale on cask and it was the best beer I’ve had in a long while. The food is nothing less than incredible. I had the smash burger. The Maillard reaction on the patty was perfect. Crispy edges with a well balanced toppings. 10/10 will be back.
A great spot with a great hole-in-the-wall feel; the kind of place you’re looking for for a casual sit down. Their food had some creativity to it, more so than I would have guessed from the pub-like setting. Our food was good and the staff was friendly and approachable. Overall our group had a good time here!
Excellent beer, awesome Irish food, lively Irish trio band, great vibe! Would definitely recommend and return.
Nice brewery with good beer options. I liked the mustard pretzel, cheese beer, salads. Apparently good place for bookclub meets. There were 3 there on Thursday night.
exceptional vegan food — wow. pictured is their new menu items, vegan burger and vegan chicken sandwich. fries are superb. highly recommend.
Went here for the first time today. Scott and Megan were great! The food was good, but not my favorite. I got the Scotch egg, and the other picture is of the big plate. I would go back to try some of their other menu. Prices are probably one of the best you can find around Grand Rapids. Would recommend if you’re in the area.
Update: We went back to try more of their menu. I got The Good Stuff bowl. And it was good.
