Jamaican Dave's - Grand Rapids - Photo album

Wonderful Jamaican food. Today Dave was the only one in. Service was reasonably fast for 1 person. We ate in at the 1 table in the front. Mostly a carry out place. The ox tail, curried goat and jerk chicken we very good. The best was Ox tail and Curried Goat. Rice and peas(beans) we very good. This
Was a small joint, so it's more of a carry out place. The meals come with rice, fresh Cole slaw, plantains and your meat. The rice is quite spicy so after about three bites my lips are on fire. Both meats we tried were good but had bones so be careful. The "festival" is a cross between a hush pu
This was amazing food. Hot fresh and fast! I can not wait to go back! I wish it was such a long drive I would eat there a lot more!
Jamaican Dave’s is amazing! This was our first time trying oxtail and it was fantastic! The rice and peas had a great flavor, the cole slaw is fresh and sweet and the festival has a nice cinnamon flavor. The service was so friendly and welcoming. Definitely a place to return to next time we are in G
This isn't a place that one should come to expecting to sit and dine, but the food is out-of-this-world amazing. I had the curry goat dinner, and it was everything I could have asked for: spicy, savory, gamey deliciousness. I was instantly taken back to the streets of Kingston, where I had curry goa
Amazing, food is great and service is great also. I ordered the jerk chicken and the taste was explosive and very tasty. The order came with more than I thought, it had rice, cabbage, and bread that is sweet. 10/10 would definitely go to again.
Great place. Great food. Big portions. Take out only due to covid. Oxtails fell off the bone. Rice, beans and plantains were cooked perfectly.
This place is great ... Manzi always takes time to talk to everyone, They make a great ital mixed veggies with peas and rice. The have everything from your Jamaican beef patty to Ox tail and some great ginger soda.
Oxtail, curried goat, jerk chicken, festivals, and plantains - all superb! The plantains were sweet, juicy, and a little bit crispy. So perfect! The jerk chicken is spicy, but not too spicy to eat. Lots of deep jerk flavors and smells. Just maybe pace yourself with bites of the coleslaw. The oxtail
I ordered on site and got my food within about 5 minutes of placing order, though I waited behind counter for someone for about 5 minutes. Worth the wait though. They didn't have jerk chicken, or plantains at the time...I think they cook large batches so call in advance to see what's available. S
I am impressed with the quality of their food! Grand Rapids is not an ethnic food city. Pleasant staff.
I've been to a lot of Jamaican places since I moved away from Grand Rapids and nothing compares to the seasonings he uses in his food. His Curry Shrimp and all his food is sooooooooo well made. My favorite place to eat in Grand Rapids!
Food was really hot we tried the jerk chicken service was also good
Food is delicious. Slow service. N not always open at times stated on sign on door. Oxtails are wonderful.
Delicious, big portion and Dave is super friendly. Try the oxtail.
May, 2022: There are no tables to dine in but this place will give you a big clamshell of food and leave you satisfied. We got jerk chicken that came with slaw, a giant hush puppy, and lots of rice'n beans. Food enough for two meals for $13 and leaves you feeling good.
An awesome and authentic Jamaican restaurant here in GR. It took a little waiting to get our meal (to-go) but it was certainly worth the wait. The curry goat was deliciously tender, had excellent flavor and spice and the sides and portion size was very generous, feeding both my husband and I. We'll
