Amazing food. Great atmosphere. Great service. Ordered the vegetarian platter and shared with family. Had a fun time and everyone left full and happy
So so so good and for such a great price. The super vegetarian combo is amazing every single time. I feel so lucky to have this place in my neighborhood. One of my favorite restaurants in GR!
The food arrived quickly and everything was super delicious. The waitress was friendly, helpful, and attentive. The meal was affordable and I was thrilled to have leftovers. Definitely check them out.
Such a nice family friendly restaurant. I enjoyed the food and wonderful customer service. I recommend.
It was slow on a Wednesday afternoon in December, and service was very friendly and kind, asking if I had eaten this kind of food before so they could explain how to use the injeera if I had not. The food was so delicious and nicely priced! I got the Kik Alicha vegetarian meal, and left very full and with leftovers. Definitely recommend!
Had lunch there yesterday with a group of friends. Mesai, the host and owner was very accommodating. The food took a few minutes since there were a few of us but well worth the wait. She did not disappoint. We all liked what we ordered and the portions were large. Everyone wiped out their plates or should I say their enjeera. Highly recommend.
And I would come here AGAIN! I was bored and wanting to do something, or treating myself to a meal so I decided to go here. It was nerve wrecking because I was alone and also in a place I have never tried before, but the lady who helped me was so welcoming that I felt at home. The service is top tier, the lady was kind enough to suggest the dish and showed me how to eat the proper way which made me felt so included. I got the sample one because I wanted to try a bit of everything and it was amazing. Portion wise, BIG (for a person maybe). I usually eat just a little but and got full right away, but if it comes to good tasting food, gosh darn that day I almost ate the whole plate. I lovee this place so much and would come back to try other dishes on the menu. The mango juice was good too (and A LOT).
Go Jo is one of Grand Rapid's true gems. An Ethiopian restaurant this good has no business operating in a city as small and Dutch as ours, but yet here it is. If you live in the area but haven't been here, put it on your schedule.
This kind of food you order for the table and everyone shares the same entrees with injera, which is like a spongy, pancake-y bread. It's delicious an naturally gluten free. There's a sampler platter that you can scale up from two people to however many you need. I'd also recommend the beef tips.
If you call ahead, you can order the traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremony, which comes highly recommended. These are good people who run this restaurant and who are authentically sharing their culture with the city in both food and traditional ceremonies. They deserve all the support this community can give.
I really enjoyed my experience at Go Jo. The staff was really nice and the food was excellent. We got the super vegetarian combo and it appeared that everything was made in house and very tasty. The coffee with accompanying incense was an interesting event. The decor is utilitarian but with an Ethiopian theme and the tables have glass tops with embroidered weavings. The biggest negative is that the restroom has a truck stop vibe and should be addressed. I'm shocked that the restaurant was empty when we came in for lunch on a Saturday as the quality of food was fantastic. It was a fun time and I'm looking forward to going again.
This place is easily one of our favorite restaurants in GR. The food is absolutely amazing every single time. 100 percent authentic Ethiopian food. We never leave disappointed. The owner and his wife are super friendly and always provide great service! Highly recommend! 10/10.
