Review Red Hook Grill - Grandview Heights

Small little Caribbean restaurant that had a great overall menu from the islands and their dishes did not disappoint. I had the Pineapple Bowl, which included seasoned chicken and shrimp, with Pineapple, rice, and other vegetables, all served in a half pineapple. Good flavor and not over powering in seasoning. A coworker who is vegan found this place during our travels for us to try. Only has 10 or so tables but is on OpenTable and we had no problem later in the evening to get a table and enjoy a meal that was served promptly, fresh and with flavor. My coworker loved her vegan options and dish also.

Excellent little out of the way place with the friendliest of service and delicious Caribbean food. The pineapple boat is definitely a recommendation: pork, shrimp, rice and beans all in an exotic seasoning mix with just enough spice to be interesting. They also offer nice selection of shareables and desserts. And you may want to check out their $7 daily specials, especially for a quick to go.

The customer service was great but as an island girl myself, the food was nowhere near Caribbean. I ordered the tofu bowl and there was a bitter taste. It was just horrible. My friend ordered the vegan jambalaya. It was better but still missing flavor. They need to go back to the drawing board with these recipes.

This is such a great little place! It has a warm atmosphere and it's somewhat off the grid. The ambiance is great and the staff is friendly. I just wasn't impressed with the food at all. It's not bad, but I wouldn't suggest it. If you're just looking to get away and have a glass of wine, this is your place. If you're looking for great Caribbean cuisine, not so much.

Fantastic! Came here for dinner before the Kiss concert for our anniversary. Clean establishment. Relaxed atmosphere. Made me think of a like a classy island restaurant, yet with a casual vibe. We were promptly greeted upon entrance. I am gluten free & our server was knowledgable of the gluten free selections. She was very pleasant as well! The bartender was friendly too! My husbands expectations of the gumbo & Jambalaya were exceeded! I thoroughly enjoyed the mango chicken with Red Hook potatoes instead of the black bean rice. Thank you for such tastefully delicious dishes! We will return and tell everyone we know!
