Went there with some friends the day after a wedding. We arrived before they'd technically opened, but they were happy to show us to a large table and shower us with attention. We had excellent Peking duck, bao, spring rolls, stuffed mushrooms, wonton soup…way too much food for us to finish, but we gave it our best try! All super delicious, and all served with a smile. The hostess even took some photos of our food for us!
This was an unexpected find in Long Island and the plant based food options were excellent. Fresh ingredients, tasty, great presentation and short wait time. The vegan Peking Duck was really good, as well as the tiramisu. The only negative would be the coffered ceiling looked dingy and some areas of the banquets need shampooing. Overall clean and uniquely beautiful and definitely recommend it!
Zen garden has a wide assortment of Asian vegan cuisine. There were so many things I wanted to try but the things I ordered were so yummy! The zen signature incredible chicken was the best, it's made from a hericulum mushroom but the texture and taste is very similar to chicken. It was very convincing. At the zen garden, I was able to eat dishes I haven't been able to eat ever since I became a veterinarian like the roti canai and walnut shrimp. The walnut shrimp is made of konnyaku, which is super cool. It's lightly fried and crunchy. I also loved the roti canai, the roti was light and fluffy while the curry sauce was super spicy yet flavorful. I'll definitely come back to try other dishes.
Cozy date night spot with a wonderful menu. Servers are incredibly friendly and helpful. Try any of the vegan chicken dishes - the texture on their homemade seitan is amazing and unlike anything else I’ve tried locally.
Took my aunt, 40+ years vegan, to this place since we were in the area. It was so good that I didn’t get to take pics of all the dishes! Got lavender/chrysanthemum tea - brewed well taste and aroma wise!
Discovered and visited this spot last month and I was completely blown away. I was amazed to find out that there was a vegan sushi spot up north that I could come back home to and indulge in from time to time. And to learn that the food there was amazing as well was an added bonus. It’s the availability for me. #plantbasedlife
This vegan and kosher place is really superb. Good to have a plant based meal once in a whole for health reasons! Was here before abd I eemember it was excellent. Had the Buddhist delight and it was delicious (and a large serving). The quinoa was absolutely fantastic - I think they toast it. Also a wide array of interesting and delicious teas.
Decor and ambience very classy and relaxing... very enjoyable experience!
Absolutely amazing place! Beautiful presentation and decor, super fast service, friendly staff, delicious food, pleasant music, and vegan options I never ever see anywhere else! Their menu is so big, I'm not used to being able to pick anything and have so many options. I even got to try foods I've never had before being vegan, and they were delicious! A bit on the expensive side, but totally worth it. Definitely going to come here every time I make it down to Long Island. Thanks! :)
What a treat to discover this wonderful beautiful, vegan Asian restaurant in Great Neck, LI!
Everything we chose from their extensive menu was delicious & fresh. I love the luxuriously comfortable seating, natural light, orchids...all the decor. Lunch felt like a special occasion.
We were served by one of the owners who took the time to talk with us, make us feel at home & help us pick out teas, dishes & desserts.
Love that its women owned!
If I was nearby it would be my go-to spot. Def check it out! Hope to be back soon.
Came in to celebrate with a friend and I am glad we chose to come here. The vegan food is so good! There are many options to choose from and if you ever need help, the servers are really nice and helpful.
Absolutely delicious. The food was perfect, and there was a wide variety of vegan foods (both heavy and light). Service was rapid and courteous, and the atmosphere was spacious and welcoming. Will be returning.
Wow. I don't even know where to begin! The moment we walked in, this place hit us with wonder. The interior is beautiful and has an inviting atmosphere. The staff was incredibly accommodating, friendly, helpful, and was eager to share their restaurant story. We were especially fond of our waiter Edward and the hostess Joanne. They asked our names and remembered exactly what we ordered. We wanted to try everything! They have an array of horoscope teas, which we found to be super unique! The chef went above and beyond our expectations. The yuca fries were the BEST I've ever had. The desserts are made in house and you can taste the fresh and healthy ingredients. Every dish was outstanding, and we left feeling overly satisfied and happy. We guarantee to come back again with friends and family! The only downside is their coffee; it's very generic for the price and not worth ordering.
Everything was delicious. Great texture and flavor. Unusually delightful dining experience. Very welcoming and pleasant staff. A vegan’s delight. Surprisingly varied menu. Generous portions.
On our most recent visit with the kids, we ordered wonton soup, lomein, and General Tso. Cheesecake for dessert. The food was good as always, but the staff rarely checked up on us, despite the restaurant being pretty empty. Some war of words also erupted in the kitchen with people shouting in Chinese. Luckily for them, they have no other competition in the area.
We've eaten here a few times- always a great experience. This visit was for takeout. No pics because I sat in almost 2 hrs of traffic heading east and when I got home, my family and I devoured everything. It's wonderful knowing we can eat anything on the menu and it's not only vegan, it's going to be delicious.
Five stars is not enough. Incredible service incredible chick kin. If your looking for a place to escape the rat race. Relax your mind and enjoy cruelty free dining Zen garden is your place. I was so amazed food was amazing and service was wonderful. If you like vegan food you don’t want to miss this. We came around 6pm on a Thursday and we were the only ones here but it picked up around 7.
Beautiful 😻 place. Vegan 🌱 Place with very peaceful and cut atmosphere, food is delicious and service is very polite. We will be back for sure. NYC still cheesecake is my go to desert very happy to find it made vegan 🌱
Being Vegan the wife and I are always seeking Vegan friendly restaurants on Long Island. I found this place via internet and decided to try on a Thursday night. A little bit of a hike to het to Great Neck but I parked across the street went in. We were greeted by the hostess which I assume is one of the owners,. Who explained the very length vegan menu and that every thing on the menu is vegan friendly.
We ordered Tea which was served in a clear pot on a holder kept warm from a tea candle, very impressive looking
Our App was Rotti Shana, curry was spicy and Rotti very good
Entries we over ordered
Peaking duck presentation was as good as it tasted
Japanese Yosenabe Casserole was filling and very tasty almost like a hot pot
lastly Zen Signature Chicken ( mushroom) in a General Tso sauce, the texture of the mushroom was that of chicken the sauce was sweet and the consistency of General Tso sauce but the taste was off.
Pro- The food was excellent and atmosphere and the decor was very nice. The presentation of food was very good.
Staff was friendly and food came out quickly
Cons- we ordered a second Appetizer but never came, but we really ordered too much food to begin with
When we received the Check it also included items from the table next to us but was quickly resolved.
As with most restaurants and businesses they are offering discount for cash or advertised price for Credit.
We would definitely go back
