Fabulous Gorgonzola Mac and cheese
We went here before a show at the Palace theater, was not disappointed. I called for reservations and we were seated promptly. Our waitress was very good, she was very knowledgeable and attentive. We ordered the teriyaki BBQ wings as an appetizer, they were delicious. The entrees we ordered were the scallops with butternut ravioli, and the salmon, they were both delicious. Kudos to the chef. I would definitely return.
Fine DIning in Greensburg. This is our new favorite. Great food in a beautifully restored historic house. i had the special, a mixed grill that included filet mignon, lollipop lamb chops, grilled scallops, and shrimp over asparagus. Fantastic!! The filet was done perfectly, which is medium rare for me. The lamb chops were beautiful, and the scallops perfect. The shrimp were in a delicious sauce. My wife had salmon. It was perfectly done, rare as requested, and served with artichokes and rice, all beautifully seasoned.
The wine list was varied, with a nice selection from unusual vineyards. The cocktail menu was extensive, but I didn't have any, so I can't comment on them. Danielle, behind the bar, was friendly, and provided excellent service. The atmosphere is a big plus. The lounge is large, and it includes a small stylish bar, with two big screen TVs. There are dining tables in the lounge that are very popular. The music in the lounge was not too loud (thankfully). The separate dining area is attractive and quiet enough to talk in a conversational tone. Overall, this is fine dining. The prices were not excessive, in fact, considering the quality, they were quite reasonable. Our waitress, Erica, was pleasant, and attentive, but never intrusive. We will be back whenever we have the opportunity.
Great food. The patio is great. The bartenders are the best in Greensburg. Chris makes the best drinks. Their drink menu is seasonal and has great combinations. The food is excellent. Appetizers are wonderful!
Met our needs. Visited J. Corks the other night before the Amy Grant concert. We were met by a hostess who asked if we had a reservation, we said we didn't and she seated us immediately (though right next to the busy kitchen door--felt like we were tucked in a corner out of the way from those with reservations). Our server was friendly and kind, she did an excellent job of helping us and made light conversation too. The food was good, I ordered the gorgonzola burger with truffle parm fries (no bun on my burger as per my request). One of my dining partners had the roasted vegetable salad and I think it looked better than my meal. In all it was a very pleasant experience.
Great food. Went here for a wedding rehersal dinner and it was amazing. Everything is always so good here!
Excellent. The atmosphere, service and food are of excellent quality! Highly recommend!
Great food and service!. We had a great experience at J. Corks! The staff is very friendly and the food was delicious. And the drinks... yummy! We sat in the Lounge area, which I would highly recommend as the seats are very comfortable, and the decor is stylish and sophisticated (without being pretentious).
When I called to make reservations, I asked about their standard turnaround time since we had tickets for a show at The Palace Theatre and I wanted to make sure we wouldn't be late. They noted on my reservation that we were going to a show, so our waiter asked us about it upon our arrival. Our waiter went out of his way to make sure that the service was perfectly timed. The restaurant manager came over and said hello and it was clear he had checked on our meals to ensure we would not feel rushed.
The chef has a great hand with seafood. The calamari appetizer, grilled salmon entree, and scallops entree were all perfectly prepared. No overcooked and rubbery food here! The bartenders were very friendly, and sure know how to make some interesting cocktails! The Pear Martini, Brother's YooHoo, and The Painkiller were all so delicious! We found out that the staff members designed the specialty drinks on the menu.
My only regret was that we didn't have room for dessert! But there's always next time, because I know I'll be back to J. Corks!
Food is Delicous. Although this place is a lil stuffy and the waiter looked at us like we were not worthy of eating here...the food was superb! I had the candied bacon salad with grilled salmon...perfection. The drinks from the drink menu are creative but VERY VERY VERY STRONG.
J corks is hands down the best restaurant in downtown greensburg! They have really turned things around with the new chef, menu, and staff! Good job J Corks! We will keep spreading the word to our friends and family! We also found out that the company my wife works for is having their Christmas party there!! Really looking forward to coming back!
J Corks is my go to spot for amazing fresh food and cocktails. I appreciate the intimate relaxed atmosphere, friendly service and very affordable prices. I've gone during lunch in business attire and during dinner in jeans. I always feel welcome and comfortable here. Way to go J Corks! Be in soon for a hot Jolly Cider. Can't wait!
My wife and i have eaten at a lot of restaurants in the greensburg area and j. Corks is our top choice. We were here tonight and the place was packed. Seems to be the norm for this place and i can see why. My wife and i split the pretzels and pepperjack spinach dip, its always our go to favorite appetizer. She had the polynesian fish feature and i had the filet mignon medium rare. My steak was cooked perfect and her fish was delicious! ( she would only let me have one bite because she loved it). Our waiter was brandon and he was very attentive, friendly, and fast. We were greeted when we walked in the door with a smile and seated promptly with our reservation. This was a nice change because when we were there about a month ago the woman at the door only wanted to know if we had a reservation and when we said no she lectured us about it and was not friendly. Then she told us she was the general manager! Thats the only problem weve ever had there but besides that the service was great and food was delicious. We will be back .
LUNCH. Very bright sunny room to eat in, though a bit chilly inside. The poached pear salad is great, and the chicken boursin sandwich was good. slightly higher priced than some places. The waitress was very slow that day and did not exude warm fuzzies. TRY IT
Awesome Food and Atmosphere. Went to J Corks on a Saturday Night. Food was excellent and the decor and atmosphere is very nice. Has a bit of colonial look.
WONDERFUL!. Anyone that loves bleu cheese, bacon, and caramelized onions, you MUST get the Bacon Bleu salad! I am not a salad eater, and I could eat this every day! I have been to J. Corks five times now, and each time each gets better and better! Bread- fresh, dense & wonderful sourdough. Filet- perfectly cooked perched on top of a decadent sauce. Creme brulee- AWESOME! Go, go, GO!
Great atmosphere! Delicious food!. I have been to J. Corks a few times and with each visit the food has been amazing. Everything is prepared perfectly and presentation is beautiful! Service is great If you are seated at the bar, the male bartenders are terrific. Attentive and helpful. My ony gripe would be our service by the waitress. My Third visit to J. Corks the waitress was great. Friendly and prompt I believe her name was Jamie. The other two times we had a different girl, she was very unpleasant and unfriendly. She did what she had to do and nothing extra. This is the type of occurance that would result in customers not coming back after being treated poorly in a manner as such.
Overall, I would highly reccommend J. Corks!
Nice add for Greensburg. Been twice in last month. Good service, wine, appetizers and food both times. Nice patio still being finished. Prices are very attractive for the quality and quantity of food. Decor is somewhat art-deco; old Elk's club with lots of left over touches like lights, brick work, etc., but with a bright, clean face. Nice bar area. Bit awkward when entering, need to go back hallway to welcome station. Otherwise, you'll like it.
J Corks is a winner. Went to J Corks last night with the girlfriend and we had a great meal. We started with giant scallops in an anchovy butter with crispy potato straws, it rocked! The scallops were cooked perfectly and sauce it came in was fantastic. For our entres I had a massive pork chop with a red wine sauce and she had a salmon dish with a butter sauce. Both were served with a generous helping of smashed redskin potatoes, a vegatable, and the best (and biggest) goat cheese puff I've ever had. The pork chop was about 1' 1/2 thick, juicy, and cooked to a perfect medium (as I asked for.) I'd have to say the salmon was probably the winner. It had a great crunchy top and a delicate, moist interior. The total meal, along with two side salads set us back $50. Now thats a great deal.
The atmosphere here is great, it's classy but casual, upscale but not pretentious. Another great feature to this restaurant is that they are BYOB. I'm not sure if they advertise this but almost every table around us brought a bottle or two of wine with them. I heard the waitress say that the corkage fee is $10, which is very reasonable considering a glass of wine is $6-$10. The only flaw in the evening was our waitress. Yes, she did everything her job required of her, took our order, delivered our food, cleared our plates. However, she was in no way shape or form friendly or welcoming. We probably just caught a server who wasn't in the best of moods. Oh well, it didn't ruin our evening.
Bottom line, try J Corks. I think you'll like what you find.
Menu items were reasonable price, preparation was spot on and taste was very good. Nothing "oh my god this is good" but still delicious. Tried the red wine champagne vinaigrette on my house salad, wasn't impressed. Lack of sides (veggies, pastas, etc.) as well as a childrens menu (even if it was extremely limited) would have been nice to see. Had to order an entree that we thought our 8 year old son would enjoy. Definitely worth a try, but more of a date place then take the family out to a nice dinner place
As much as I wanted to like the salad, I did not like the combination. But the ingredients were quality and fresh, so I would again return to J. Corks on another visit to sample what my fellow diners were raving about.
Sat at the bar. Great bar tender, good conversation and menu/drink knowledge. One if the better old fashions I've had.
Date night appropriate. Kids may not enjoy it as much.
~Edit~
Took the whole family here for dinner. Kids loved it!
Our party of eight had lunch on the patio. We were the only ones seated outside. The food and service were ... good but not stellar. The lunch menu excluded entrees (mostly sandwiches) and over half of that menu was devoted to drinks. We had dinner there about 2 years ago (pre-covid) and our experience at that time was superior to this one. This lunch-time visit was average to above average in our collective opinions, on a par with many of the more common national chain restaurants.
One of the best meals Suzi and I have ever eaten.
Food and service was at another level. Do yourself a favor and call for a reservation.
I love this place! A little on the expensive side but generally so good to eat at. I had gotten a special when I was there which was essentially a deconstructed steak Caesar salad & lobster risotto and when I tell you I was in heaven I mean it wholeheartedly. The chefs are impeccable.
Enjoyed dinner during Greensburg Restaurant Week. It was delicious 😋
Beautiful relaxed atmosphere. Outdoor seating in a park like setting or cozy up next to the fire inside. Very creative cuisine and cocktails. The servers are attentive and have yet to disappoint, even during covid when under staffing was an obvious issue. The food is excellent with a beautiful fusion of flavor and color that will not disappoint.
Great place and atmosphere!!! Wonderful people and the owners are so down to earth and personable! Love them all!! P.S. Whoever makes the drinks, each one is decadent and delicious!!!
Very nice place. We had a great server, very knowledgeable and helpful. Had the crabcake on brioche bun with red pepper aioli and truffle fries. Honey lavender lemonade
