The few Hibachi experiences I had before this left a bad taste in my mouth, so much though that I said I would never eat at one again, of course I was wrong because my wife loves these places. So after being outvoted by my wife and our friends we went to Koi. They completely changed my view on Hibachi, I LOVE IT! Steak and Chicken is now one of my favorite foods, just typing about it makes my mouth water. I can't sit down without ordering a order of crab ragoon. A little pricey but not bad for a Hibachi place especially since it would be a challenge to finish it all in one sitting. The only bad thing I have to say is when calling in a to go order I asked for some extra sauce to go and after seeing the tip I wrote down the guy ringing me out actually took out some of the extra sauce in the bag! THAT BLEW ME AWAY!
Great atmosphere, great waitress, and great food!!! We were in town from Louisiana, and we were very impressed! I highly recommend the Tropical Roll! It was delicious!
We love Koi! It's a family favorite! The hibachi staff and sushi chefs are fantastic. My wife loves the knockout roll with cucumber wrap instead of rice. It's her all time favorite food for date night. Our kids love the hibachi. Priced reasonably and waitstaff are super friendly. Always clean environment!
I travel extensively and this is my favorite sushi spot!! I absolutely love the How I Roll and New Orleans Roll. I've tried several others and have never been disappointed. I also recommend the crawfish fried rice...Delish!! It's definitely worth a try. Check em out!
The Dinner Club Critics were out tonight at Koi Sushi. They know what their doing. From the service crew to the Chef's entertaining and preparing our meals was a deserving 5 star rating. Keep it up!
Best sashimi in town!. As for rolls get the Steve Roll. Sashimi is fresh, no stinky fish smell here. Their egg drop soup is amoung my favorite in the area, not too much egg and more flavor. Always get the large bowl of the soup!
We went on Monday evening and was pleased with the atmosphere and the friendly staff. I ordered the Joshua Roll. IT WAS GREAT! The California Roll was good as well. We ate at the habatchi grill. Our Chef was very nice and entertaining. I ordered the Shrimp and Scallops Entree. It was good. The only thing that Iwish they would have done differently was.....to not put so much soy sauce and teriyaki on the seafood. The steak tasted okay with it. But I couldn't taste anything but the soy and teriyaki on mine. Next time I'll tell them while they are cooking it. But all in all I love the place.
Excellent restaurant! You have to eat at the grill when you go. Finally found a great restaurant in Gulfport. A little pricy but well worth the cost.
It was okay. I would recommend getting rolls that are not raw, the fish wasn't bad, but not great. The seaweed salad was tasty and the staff was friendly.
Started with crab ragoons.. Very tasty!! Sushi was delicious too!
Blown Away! Delicious!. In town staying at the hotel attached to Koi, figured it was an easy choice being an avid sushi lover. Glad I did
The sushi is some of the best sushi I have ever eaten, and I have eaten a lot of sushi from all over the states. (see other reviews) I went around 6:30 and it seemed they were just starting to get busy. Koi's decor is very modern and sleek and not to mention clean!
Staff: 5/5 - Staff were very friendly, attentive and overall everything you would wish in any wait staff. Sushi took a very short time and was all brought out to me at once, very fast service.
Food: 5/5 I tried four rolls : Koi , Fuji Volcano, Joshua and Hulk roll. The flavors all went well together and each of the rolls I tried had unique textures and tastes. Everything tasted very fresh and was presented nicely. Extremely Impressed by the variety and appeal.
Overall, I have zero complaints and honestly thinking if I get hungry a bit later I will go back and try some new ones. Delicious! Will definitely come back next time in town (or even passing through for that matter)
Great atmosphere and some of the best sushi I have ever ate. excellent and very helpful service.
Nice atmosphere. Food was fresh and prepared just right in front of you if you dine Hibachi style. Service is friendly. Cost was reasonable. Great Sushi too.
Something has changed..... Koi has been our go-to sushi place for a long time now. We no longer live on the coast but make a point to go to Koi when we get a chance to visit family who are still on the coast. One of my favorite things about the meal was the ginger dressing on the salad....I would drink it out of the bowl! On our last visit, we sat at the Hibachi grill, which we don't normally do, and when we got our salads the dressing was different. I was very disappointed. It didn't have the same taste that it had always had before. The sushi was still excellent and the cook was very entertaining but it just wasn't the same.
Love it! Egg drop soup, those spicy fried shrimp and those cream cheese lobster things! Yum!
Good sushi. Every bit as good as Samurai, my favorite sushi up to now.
Its Great. I love this place. I will always come back for more. The chefs are great. They even give great advice about day to day problems. Roi and Billy are my favorite! Billy talks a little to much lol but all in all its a really great place!
First visit great sushi chef, I always eat sashimi excellent presentation, and best prices on the coast. Second visit mediocre presentation, but still great quality and price.

Large selection of sushi, everything we ordered was great. Service was just ok...long wait for our meal when there was only 10 customer in the restaurant.
Got this place recommended by a friend from work and must say: it was awesome!
We got seated promptly and got to order stuff to drink right away. Once we ordered food, it really didn't take them that long to get everything prepped. The sushi is unlike any sushi I've ever had. Service was top notch and overall value was great also.
Definitely planning on going again, and would highly recommend to friends and family.
A good local spot for consistently good maki rolls. They also have a hibachi section of the restaurant, which I haven’t tried. But it does always seem to be busy. The rolls are very Americanized but are fairly inventive and always tasty. They don’t have many nigiri options but that’s to be expected for this location. Overall, a good spot to go on a weeknight.
Did the Hibachi and the cook was awesome entertaining the kids. Food was tasteful and delicious; It was a large portions of that I had leftover to take home.
One word…. DIVINE! Koi is my favorite sushi & hibachi spot on the entire MS Gulfcoast. I always have to start with the fried calamari, edamame and/or some fried shrimp. The hot sake is fabulous & my favorite rolls on the menu are: Mango Tango (#1 fav never come without having it), Tuna Lover, How I Roll & Spicy Tuna Roll. The owner & his staff are always so friendly & quick to seat us. Never disappointed ever. Thank y’all for providing an awesome atmosphere that my spouse & I can enjoy for date night. 😁🥰
Firstly, let me apologize for not taking pictures of the actual FOOD!! 🤣🤣 I was hungry and didn't think about it until it was all gone!
We started with the fried scallop appetizer. A bit pricey for the portion for me but it was obviously hot and cooked fresh and pretty tasty. The scallops were served on a bed of leafy greens with sauteed onions with a dipping sauce. Make sure to get a bite with ALL of the things. Trust me.
We ordered 4 rolls, 2 more basic ones and 2 of the specialty ones. I think the most expensive roll on the menu was right under $14 and I've seen a lot of places that go up to $16. 1 was fried, 2 were raw, 1 was baked. Have to say each one was unique and delicious in it's own way.
Finished the meal with a small bowl of clear soup. Which was made with chicken broth that honestly tasted like it came straight out of a carton is was so salty. It was still good but...way too salty!
The service was quick and attentive. The food came out super fast as well. My only real complaint would be that they have an outside dining area out front but we were told we couldn't sit there.
In conclusion, if you enjoy Sakis on Washington Ave in Ocean Springs you will like Koi because they are pretty similar in atmosphere and menu.
It was our first time here and the service was really good. It server was prompt and the hibachi chef was very courteous of the children at the table when it came to the fire show.
We didn't really like the noodles though. I don't think we will order those again.
We've been visiting this restaurant for years. We were upset when we found out they were no longer at the old location, but so excited when we found out they only moved. We LOVE them!! We've always had hibachi and loved every single bite! The other night we had dine in instead, and it was so dang good. We got the steak and lobster meal and the steak and veggies were so dang good. The lobsters were overdone and not my favorite, but everything else was amazing. We got a couple different things from the sushi menu to try also which were so good! Crunchy roll and Spider roll were hits! Clear soup is always our go to, as no one else offers it and it's so dang good, along with the salad! 👏 So excited for our next visit!!
The miso soup was fabulous, the rice and noodles with the chicken was 100/100. I absolutely love it. Would most definitely visit again. The server is amazing.
