Spicy Home is a below average Chinese restaurant in Hacienda Heights, CA. I had dinner there on a Tuesday evening. The business was slow. I ordered Smoke Duck, Shrimp Dry Pot, Twice Cook Pork, and Dan Dan Noodle. The Smoke Duck was lack of favor and the skin was not crispy. It tasted like steamed duck. It was the worse Smoke Duck in Southern California. The shrimp was not fresh. The Twice Cook Pork was oily. The Dan Dan Noodle was lack of favor. The service and ambient were below average. I will not visit this restaurant again.

Easy to locate. Lots of free parking. Place is warm and intimate. Floors are however sticky and slippery from oil residue. Food was 6 of 10 stars. Both of my sauteed veggies were too greasy. Server was not hospitable at all. She didn't greet customers coming in or leaving the restaurant. She was inattentive by always being on her phone. Customers had to get her attention every single time. Horrible service with mediocre food. Not coming back! Stay away!

Knowing that it's a favorite among mainland expats I was expecting this place to be better than the SGV staples such as Taste of Chengdu or Sichuan Impression - both are just decent and as good as it gets in LA. Boy was I disappointed. The dishes are mostly monotonous and overly sweet, lacking mala and wok hei. This hardly passes even for westside standards these days, and it's a crime for Rowland Heights. 别的不说,口水鸡比红糖糍粑还甜!??

Good food, price is a bit high. Would I recommend it? Yes. Is it a must revisit? No. There are so many other places to choose from.

This place is a gem. The food was pretty good and the service was pretty fast. I recommend going on a weekday when it not as packed
