Excellent coffee shop with a GREAT food menu. Wonderful atmosphere - we visited on a Saturday around lunch time and the place was hopping. Best cappuccino we’ve had in a long time, served piping hot. Sunflower muffin served toasted - wonderful. Excellent feta/spinach omelet. Will definitely be back.

I love their food and atmosphere-mostly in the spring season. The pancakes are great - just do not get the yogurt, it comes on the side, bc it's horrible, it tastes like spoiled yogurt, always-other than that this place is lovely.

Esselon is the go-to for top-notch food and fabulous atmosphere. Counter service is good and the line moves quickly — and there is usually a line! Staff is on the ball and working hard. They have a wide range of coffee and tea drinks and drop-dead luscious baked goods, pastries and desserts. It can be really crowded in cold weather. In warm weather the patio and garden are open and they are serene and lovely. It’s hard to remember you are a stone’s throw from Highway 9 thanks to the screen of tall spruces and shrubs. The dining room is delightful, with French cafe chairs and a tin ceiling. Good for a date or a gathering of friends. Prices are higher than average, but the food is worth it - fresh and delicious.

I found esselon bustling during my Monday lunch visit. A table freed up fairly quickly and before my soup and cider were ready. Both items I ordered were fantastic. Definitely a lunch/dessert cafe-forward vibe, though I did see maybe 1 in 5 folks hunkered down at tables, working. I liked that there’s a solid kids drink menu.

I had one of the best breakfasts here! Food was fresh, delicious and nicely presented. Did not have to wait too long despite the place being busy. I wish we could have eaten outside because the seating there is really nice, but it was too cold that day.

Just a wonderful visit on a spring day. Pancakes and cappuccino on the patio next to the tulips....a wonderful way to spend a Sunday! Great blueberry pancakes with real local maple syrup. What a great vibe here!!

I had a nice experience here because the staff were friendly, the atmosphere was quaint, and the food was delicious. I enjoyed the French toast with bacon with the honey nut latte. I would definitely come back and order something else.

very cool and unique tea house & coffee shop. they offer a short but sweet variety of brunch & lunch options. a lot of specialty teas as well. plenty of seating; indoor, outdoor with patio and under the shade of trees. very beautifully decorated, it's such a cool hidden gem. we got the lox eggs benedict & lots of teas...with pu-erh tea being one of them, a fremented ancient tea from china. they also offer beers, hard ciders & wines, all local. will definitely be back!

Cafe Esselon was a great find for my spouse and I as vegans. Though they only have a couple of vegan options, those options are delicious. The outdoor seating is within a very well landscaped garden area that feels completely separated from the road noise. Service has been excellent. I would say that they are very busy so I've had some minor details of my order missed (leave out something or add something), but they have great service and the people working there have always been happy to help correct any issues - which is what really matters. I intend to eat here regularly.

This is the place I always bring my parents to impress them. It's also the place I go with my friends when we want to eat something delicious that won't make us feel sick the rest of the day. Amazing cappuccinos, delicious bread, and eggs cooked to perfection, every time.
