Boba Dude was the first place I ever tried bubble tea.
The food and drinks are delicious! The only thing I don’t like, is the wait-time. But the food and drinks are worth the wait! This is a great place to come after school and during lunch, if you’ve got time on your hands. It’s close enough to walk to from the high school, and some of the neighborhoods. It is also very popular among middle school and high school students, which is how I found Boba Dude.
BTW, Popcorn Chicken is back!!!
I ran across this place when looking for a cool drink on a warm afternoon after hiking at Purisima Creek. I pulled into this plaza in Half Moon Bay hoping to find a slushy or something. As soon as I saw Boba Dude, I knew where I was going. The space is pretty nice and the person taking orders was very friendly and helpful. They have good options and the pearls are to my liking. It's nice to know there's a solid boba option along the coast!
While I may be letting my San Francisco boba snobbery show, but my daughter and I were a wee bit surprised that there is a boba place in Half Moon Bay.
Yes, we are smug.
In any case, we were thrilled to see this place and immediately made a late night dash to check it out. Boba Dude is legit. The space is bright and open, the boba is good -- not great -- and the food is pretty decent to good.
It does seem like it's a bit disorganized -- we ordered something and were told that the recipe was not perfected yet -- but in a charming and earnest way. I can't wait to see what it is like as it gets a little more solid.
All-in-all, we will def be back.
Some of the best Hawaiian food I’ve had in the Bay Area. The food was fresh and portions were big. They also have a few traditional boba tea food items like popcorn chicken and gyoza. Staff was friendly.
Boba tea menu is huge. Lots of traditional and non traditional speciality drinks. Drinks are mostly all inclusive with tea, choice of milk, and one topping.
