Hubby and I decided to try this place. I'd seen it for a while but never had the right opportunity. My neighbors recommended it highly and today was my birth day. We reserved a table and went in. What a great experience! Our server, Christopher, was fabulous with his knowledge of the menu and overall attention and kindness. The atmosphere was quaint and cozy and just so comfortable. The food was superb. The calamari was unlike any other; the spicy red peppers and scallions and soy sauce, omg. The entrees were no less than spectacular as well. My husband won't eat seafood and was very happy with the salmon. The lamb chops were delectable. We ended with the pecan cannoli and I can't even describe how delectable that was the homemade gelato is a must do.

Our waitress Natalia was wonderful and very knowledgeable about the food. The burrata and tomatoes was as good as any I have ever had. My husband had the gnocchi and short rib ragu and it was delicious. Too bad we are heading north this week as I would have to eat here weekly!

Best Italian restaurant at hallandale. Service is excelent.
Make a reservation if you plan to go on Saturday. The scallops and calamari were wonderful. The wine selection was good and reasonably priced. The ambience was great. Don't let the outside deceive you!!

Words just aren't enough. Just came back from yet another delightful dining night out at Il Mercato. We usually get what they have on special, tonight it was grilled shrimp, cheese grits, tomato & pepper coulis & salsa verde. The cheese grits were so light and fluffy! We also had the carbonara and a field greens salad with lightly fried squid and calamari. Yummo as always! Thanks Mike!

Love it. Love this quaint restaurant. While it's only downside is it is in a strip mall, once you are inside you would never know it. With great specials and wonderful service it is a wonderful place to find flavorful dishes and great wine. I also love that they offer half portions of all of their dishes. A great find!!
Delicious!. Delicious artichoke stuffed ravioli! Only ordered the half order, which I didn't realize was going to be quite so small. Would recommend the full order due to this. The Cannoli was so scrumptious that if I didn't live so far away, I'd be back for it on many more occasions!
Il Mercato Cafe & Wine Shop. This little spot is one of the most delicious finds with reasonable prices, caring service and a great urban buzz going on. Outside tables favored by large groups with dogs and/or children. Inside small, intimate and noisy but part of the fun. I was lucky to have pork belly tacos as a special one night which were outstanding. They haven't had them since though. Hoping.

Favorite local restaurant. We happened to stop by one of the first weeks the restaurant was open after seeing a menu near the concierge desk in our building. We were more than pleasantly surprised by the carefully selected wine list paired with exceptional food (an always changing/evolving menu) and unbelievably reasonable prices. We were selfishly hoping that the restaurant would stay under the radar but inevitably the word got out! Congrats to Emily and Mike for the great work - as evidenced by the popularity trajectory - and thanks for the fantastic food and wine!

Il Mercato: classy & inviting. Although it just opened last week, I have eaten here for dinner and for lunch. This inviting little place is the perfect atmosphere for friends, alone, or a date in the evenings. The lighting is nice and tables well spaced. The food is phenomenal and the wine was well paired with each tapas dish. You can chose full size or half size plates on the dinner menu. It's well worth a trip. They make their own gelato and also have pastries if you prefer a nicer place than Starbucks to hang out, read, and have pastries and coffee. For dinner I had the arugula & fennel salad paired with a nice Austrian white. The citrus dressing was delicious and light. I also had the spaghetti with pancetta, English peas, shallots, egg yolk, & Parmesan. This dish was phenomenal! Let's just say I did not bring home any leftovers.
I went back for lunch another day and had a perfectly made burger with caramelized onions. During the day, they place is friendly and casual, which made it a good place for me to study for several hours along the bar against the window. I had a lightly frozen espresso with a dollop of whipped cream on top and the homemade vanilla bean gelato. There is an outside table, which is well shaded.
I am impressed by this place because everything on the menu so far has been delicious. The owners and wait staff are friendly and the place is inviting even to those new to the wine scene. It is classy in this sense without the stuffiness of some wine bars. Another perk is that because it is located in the Publix shopping center, the parking is never a problem. It is tucked into the complex so that once you are in the restaurant, you don't notice the suburbia surrounding it. This place is exactly what this area needed!
The Brunch on Sundays is really amazing. The best customer service. The food is prepared by the best chef.
Super cute little Italian restaurant. Coming from two people that spent a lot of time in Italy this spring, it is certainly a hidden gem, in our opinions. Great food, wine, and service is impeccable. We sat at the bar, Andre was phenomenal! Love his knowledge of wines and great customer service! We will be back for sure!

Wow, what an incredible dining experience at IL Mercato Cafe & Wine Bar! From the moment I walked in, I was transported to Italy. The ambiance is charming and cozy, and the staff is exceptionally friendly and attentive.
But what truly made our evening special was our fantastic server, Danik. He went above and beyond to make sure we had a memorable meal. Danik was not only knowledgeable about the menu but also offered fantastic recommendations, which enhanced our dining experience.
Now, let's talk about the food – it's nothing short of spectacular. Every dish I tried was bursting with authentic Italian flavors. The pasta was perfectly al dente, the pizzas were heavenly, and the tiramisu was the best I've ever had.
I can't forget to mention the wonderful live music that added to the overall ambiance.
I highly recommend IL Mercato Cafe & Wine Bar to anyone craving delicious Italian cuisine in a warm and inviting atmosphere, and make sure to ask for Danik for a truly exceptional dining experience. I can't wait to return and try more of their delectable dishes. Bravo!"

Did take out / pick up order, little bit pricy but overall food was good. 2 out of 5 dishes were OK, so giving 4 stars. Probably will not do take out again from here but will try sit down 1 day. Portions are not huge.
