Big Big Servings. This is the place in Hammond to get a gyro. It is enough for two and the fries are big, fresh, and you get a big batch of them. Walk in or use the drive thru they are pretty quick and especially t lunch time that is the key. I have been here several times and never had a bad meal. Try it you will not be disappointed.

I was driving in the Hammond area with my girlfriend and dog. We were trying to find a quick spot for dinner. We went inside to order. I’d recommend the worker to be more courteous with someone with a service dog when they first come in. She had a nasty flare to her. I’d definitely kick her to the curb, but I won’t take her actions out on this tasty little joint. We ordered a medley of food to experiment with. We got the Gyros W/Fries, a Hamburger, a Hot Dog W/Fries and only mustard on the Dog, a Large Diet Pepsi, and a Quart of Lemon Rice Soup. The food was ready in roughly five minutes. We sat a booth to eat most of it. It was more dive-style seating than relaxing, but you can’t expect much with a greasier cuisine such as this place. I’ll start off by saying that the Gyros were freaking amazing. They surely pile the meat on their Gyros here. I’d say half of my meat dang near fell off! The Fries were served in a super big bag! They were okay. I wasn’t crazy about them. The Hamburger was simple, yet delicious. It had a nice size and also a good cook to it. The Hot Dog was a simple Dog as well, but I’d say it still beats Arnie’s in Munster, ironically. The Diet Pepsi was good in flavor, but for a Large, it was rather small. I ate most of the soup at home, as it was served extremely hot. It was great soup. I’d enjoy it more if they went heavier on the rice, but the lemon zest was clear. Despite the first encounter we had with an employee, I believe it was the owner, he had a friendly demeanor towards our dog, so that eased the situation. The cashier that took our order was friendly and knowledged. I’d say their pretty solid for customer service. Overall, this place may not be extremely cheap, but they bring some decent flavors for each item you get. Most items seem to be large in portion-size, so that’s always a plus. I recommend them if you’re in the mood for something fast, greasy, or even both! I’ll be sure to visit here again!

Had the rib tips and jumbo shrimp meal. Delicious. Was big enough for 2 meals. Definitely getting this again

If you like gyro, Columbia Gyro has the best combination of good price and good taste. Their feta is not the richest tasting feta that I've ever had and their tomatoes and onions are such a disappointment that I throw them in the trash, but their gyro meat and pita bread are tasty, and their price can't be beat. We buy two platters for about $28, and one platter is a full meal for our family of six (all children under 12). The second platter is our Sunday lunch after church.
