Food was good, quite pricy since it is seafood and the restaurant is located at the center. Nice view by the window and chill atmosphere. The cocktails tasted average but were $12, somewhat more than expected. Photos are Lobster mac and cheese which came with a nice portion of lobster, and the scallops plating was pretty. The appetizer was bang bang shrimp and maybe it was because we had a flavorful appetizer at the start, the entrees tasted quite bland. Overall, nice restaurant to go to if thinking of a beach date.
Went to dinner here last night. It sucked that it was rainy (what's new) and it kind of ruined the experience of eating with the windows open along the beach but I can't blame the restaurant for the weather.
I absolutely love the variety on the menu as it ranges from fresh seafood to burgers to sandwiches.
We ordered the Coconut Shrimp as an appetizer and it was delicious. Probably the best I've ever had seeing that I'm not a huge coconut fan.
I ordered the Shrimp Po-boy. I was very impressed with the quality of the shrimp and the baguette. The sandwich was enormous. I thought they may have a used a bit too much of whatever the spicy sauce was but it didn't deter me from enjoying my meal. My partner was being lame and she ordered the chicken fingers so there's no need to write on a review on them.
The service was a bit average as they seemed understaffed but I certainly cannot blame them for that with what's going on.
I recommend eating here if you're in the area.
Perfect place for a day date! We were able to sit at the bar over looking the strip and beach area which was awesome! I ordered a mojito with the avocado toast. Both were excellent! The toast was crispy and buttery and had a thick layer of avocado. The salad it came with was very good as well. I loved the corn in it and will now be adding corn to the salads I make at home! So grateful we stopped here and will be back, highly recommend!
Travellers, the purple urchin is located in the middle of downtown Hampton beach directly across from the seashell stage. The upstairs patio is roomy and gives the diner a lot of opportunity to watch the street below. The food was very good and well prepared. The Caesar salad was delicious and so was the baked seafood plate. The seafood was perfectly cooked and delicious. The sides were boring and lacking in seasoning, but it was a nice restaurant that offered more than fried seafood baskets and burgers. Check it out. We recommend.
It was so nice to eat right across from the Sea Shell stage and listen to the music while we eat with beautiful ocean views. The fried seafood was a little lack luster and could have benefited from some citrus to brighten it. Service was ok- good came fast, but we waited quite a while for our check. Glad we went, but I'll be eager to try some different spots next time.
