What a wonderful experience! We had a really special night at Bar Acuda. From the service to the cocktails, food and atmosphere it was a great evening. Be aware that you'll need to order 2-3 items per person, and it's a bit pricey, but worth it, in my opinion. It's also a romantic spot for couples.

Best meal we had so far on the island. Service was exceptional. Food quality and taste was 1st class. We loved everything.

One of the best restaurants I have ever eaten at, and I've eaten at many restaurants in 34 years. First off, the customer service is excellent! The servers are very nice and knowledgeable about each dish. The ambiance is perfect, with light music, soft lighting, and unique restaurant style. The food is absolutely incredible. 10/10. My favorite was the cucumber salad. 2nd was the filet mignon. 3rd is the Papas Ajo! Food is excellent. I would like to come back tomorrow and try 3 more dishes.

We waited for a table at the chefs counter. It was fun to order a cocktail, see meals being prepared here, and talk to the chefs. We LOVED the scallops and the cucumber salad. We also got the pizza which was pretty good. The honeycomb goat cheese plate was okay- bread was a bit stale and cold and the apples were bland, honeycomb and cheese were good. We’d love to come back and try other dishes. We sat at the bar and bartenders were friendly and provided excellent service!

I recommend the Hawaiian fish, scallops, lamb riblettes and lilikoi cheesecake. Unfortunately their braised short rib disappointed - husband says it was cooked too long (B's kitchen does it much better). They had yummy cheese pizzas for my kids which was nice.

One of our favorite meals in Kauai!!! We didn't have a reservation and got to the restaurant at 5:20pm to try to snag bar seating. By 5:30pm there was a long line behind us. In the bar area, they have about 3 high tops for 2 people each and space for about 8 people at the bar. Our waitress was lovely. We loved every single dish. Totally lived up to the hype. Highlights were the scallops, lamb ribs, and fish. Passion fruit cheesecake was to die for.

Great service combined with delicious tapas makes for a great experience with family or friends. The highest rated plates in our group were braised short ribs, lamb chops, lentils, and cheese cake.

Great food, great service. We went with a group of 6 so tried most of the menu, splitting all dishes, which was a great way to do it. Higher price point than most dinners we'll have on the island but unique dishes in a beautiful atmosphere made the splurge worth it for us.

This was our favorite meal after 10 days in Kauai! The food was incredible. Each dish had the perfect mix of sauce, flavor, and texture. We ordered 5 menu items and 2 desserts. The honeycomb was delicious. Our favorite dish were the scallops. They were cooked perfectly and super interesting on top of garlic mashed potatoes. The server was fun and knew the menu well, and provided helpful information on the offerings. We got there at 5pm to try and get in as a walk-in when they open at 5:30 and had no problems. I'd highly suggest!

The staff was excellent and very friendly. I feel bad leaving a critical review because I'm not some food connoisseur. That said, a couple plates did not inspire anything in me. Namely the steak kabob and honeycomb. The honey had a bitter aftertaste which may have been the dish's intention. The steaks seemed over-cooked. But enough criticism! The cheesecake stole the show! Probably the best cheesecake I've ever eaten. Overall this was a good experience I'd recommend to anyone on the island.

So here's the thing about this place: you can't miss. It's one of those places where the food sounds familiar but it's elevated in really creative ways. Take the steamed clams. I'm not normally a steamed clams guy, but they show up and wow. Or the braised rib with mushroom risotto. I don't normally do risotto but this was heavenly, to say nothing of the melt in your mouth ribs. Didn't think you could elevate a cucumber salad but somehow they did. Or their fresh take on bruschetta. Everything was a hit. The recommendation of 2 or so dishes per person or 4-5 a couple is spot on - unless you're hungry, in which case, just keep going. The lamb chops were incredibly sumptuous. But maybe the most memorable dish was the Calamansi (sp?) tart. Doesn't look like much but WOW, it is truly outstanding. The one dessert I'd recommend. As our bartender said, perfect ratios all around - crust to filling and not too sweet. If you're in Kauai, don't miss this splurge. Tip: if you don't have reservations, come about 20-30 min early. You'll probably get a seat at the bar which is actually great because you can watch all the action in the kitchen.

Delicious food drinks (Hanalei Spritz) and excellent service. Very hard to get a reservation but once you're there it's no stress and just a great time. They are also really great with our kids!

Absolutely amazing! We didn't have reservations so figured we'd take our chances at bar seating and we got lucky and seated right away! The lamb ribblets were by far the best thing we ate, but we also had the Northshore honeycomb, broccoli and burrata, and the lilikoi cheesecake. All was phenomenal and I'd highly recommend to anyone else visiting this part of Kauai

Our favorite meal on Kauai! Scored a seat at the bar, and the bartenders were lovely. Everything we had was super tasty. Was hesitant to order the Humboldt fog cheese, which has been on the menu since it opened but that may have been our favorite dish. Such a good combination of flavors. We loved the cucumber salad and even asked for the recipe. Lamb was amazing. Great ambience. Yummy cocktails. 10/10!

We love Bar Acuda! Enjoyed our second meal there tonight after a visit back in 2019. We were not able to secure a reservation - they were all gone within hours of the day I was able to reserve a table. So, we waited 1 hour and 30 minutes - but so worth it! Great service, food, drinks, and ambience! They always seem to serve the honeycomb, so be sure to give that a try! Thank you, Bar Acuda team, for a great experience!

This was by far the best dinner restaurant we found in Kauai. We did have to wait an hour to be seated but luckily they have a texting service so you can look at the shops while you wait for a table and believe me it is worth the wait. We had the broccoli, the papas ajos, albondigas, and pizzetta. They were all amazing and we were full after these! Make sure to stop in! The staff was very friendly as well! Thanks Bar Acuda!

We were unable to get reservations but the hostess was amazing and got us on a waitlist. The wait was only about an hour, and we wandered around Hanalei while we waited. We returned at the time suggested and got a table immediately! The bartender was knowledgeable and helped us choose the perfect bottle of wine for the night, and our waiter was helpful with dish recommendations. We tried the lamb lollipops & seared scallops which were both unbelievable. The textures were delightful and the flavors were otherworldly. Definitely recommend.

Excellent choice for a nice dinner on Kauai. Reservations get booked out in advance pretty far, but you can sign up to be notified if anything opens up. Another option is to arrive and queue up prior to opening (@5:30 currently) for space available seating. A little pricey, but worth it.
