Place was good. We had the catch of the day onaga grilled and the monk fish. It was good, but it wasn't my type of atmosphere and they didn't have a cocktail list. All wine.

We came a long way there from south shore of the island. After some discussions with very helpful manager of this place, I knew it's risk to take this trip and indeed, we had to wait more than an hour to be seated. At the end we couldn't complain, because we were served with a bottle of sauvignon and could seat outside in front of the entrance. So it was not a big deal at all.

I liked some crab fingers and fish fille, as well as service and design inside. After all, we spent in Postcards more than 3 hours, so we had to enjoy the time. My friend's pasta was very ordinary and almost cold - he was in a mood to complain because of that later on. Try to avoid Christmas time, otherwise it is very crowded.

Hands down the best meal in Hanalei Bay. Delicious fish, lots of veggies. Fresh food. Will recommend this to anyone visiting the area.

Without planning ahead, we were making a choice for our special dinner celebrating our private beach wedding ceremony. Seeing that Postcard Cafe looked perfect, we stopped by in the morning to inquire about a reservation for two. The sous chef suggested I call Susan, the manager to ask for a table. And did Postcard Cafe deliver! A special table for two, a delicious appetizer - a sampler platter. A great Malbec paired with two delicious meals. Top it off with a chocolate volcano dessert. The perfect end to our wedding day. Highly recommend!

This was the best meal we had on Kauai. The atmosphere, service and food were excellent. Their bread with macadamia & honey butter were worth the price, as were the entrees. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Very memorable meal!. This was my favorite dinner during a week on Kaua'i. We were there on the Weds. before Thanksgiving, and it was very busy. We waited about 40 minutes (much longer than the 10 minutes quoted by the hostess), but it was a nice night out on the porch so we didn't mind. The special was created just for me, I'm convinced: lobster risotto topped with seared scallops and pickled peppers. It was absolutely killer. Paired with a pinot blanc, I was in foodie heaven. Hubby is not a fish eater much, so he ordered the Sombrero without shrimp. For a dish without the house specialty, it tasted good and special. Service was professional if a bit slow. The small dining room has great lighting and an Old Hawaii feel. Really nice evening.

Love it! Worth the wait. They get busy quickly, so go early or plan on a 10 to 30 min wait. They have a appetizer sampler thats a great starter. Great combinations of flavors and go with server recommendations. We did and the fish was perfect. Finished with passion fruit mousse that was light, slightly tart and sweet. Go with an open mind, a little time and you'll love it.

A quaint little place that serves locally sourced ingredients made into nouveau style dishes. Even though it seems to be a "vegeterian" place, I would categorize it more as a "seafood" place. The service was good. The food was better than what we had at other recommended local places. They must be doing something right if my teenaged son enjoyed his wasabi crusted ahi so much that he complained when I took a sample piece.

Fresh seafood. We enjoyed dinning at Postcards! This place is only open for dinner. There was a crowd but it was worth the wait. The restaurant is a converted plantation style house. Has a lot of character. The seafood was fresh and our meals were great. Great place to take your significant other on a date.

Appetizer sampler platter & scallop appetizer were really good! Large enough to have as entrees (which we did). The homemade bread & hummus sounded so good but wasn't. Postcards is expensive, but so is everything on the north shore. We will eat there again soon!

Best restaurant in Hanalei Bay. We spent a week in Hanalei Bay, and ate at this restaurant twice, we liked it so much. The service is wonderful and friendly. The food was delicious and well prepared. Our personal favorite was the appetizer sampler plate; there's enough variety and quantity to make a good sized meal. Prices are average for the area. We ate at a couple of other very good restaurants, but this was our favorite. If you're in town, don't miss it.

Unique and delicious. My husband and I indulged in dinner at Postcards last night. We could tell first from the menu and then from the food that a creative and talented chef creates the menu. The flavors are masterfully created to complement one another. We had the taro fritters for an appetizer and I had the sombrero for my dinner. It was one of the best meals I have had in a restaurant and instantly wanted to try to recreate my dinner at home. It was worth the $100 bill. We also had the chocolate volcano cake - yum! It was amazing. You can skip the drinks though - the hibiscus tea was mediocre and my husband's house wine was disappointing.

Quaint little cottage houses a great dining experience. They have a nice wine list (for this part of the world) and offer specials daily. The paella is delicious and the hummus (served with homemade bread) is some of the best I've tasted.

We had a GREAT time! The pupu platter with ahi, taro fritters, lumpia and crab cake woke our tongues up, followed by by saffron risotto with FRESH pesto (so rich) and a crostini of goat cheese... Mmmmmm Be sure to save room for the silk chocolate pie!!

Food was fresh & clean. The waitress was a little moody then lightened up as time progressed. She was happy to see a mother & daughter having dinner. She kicked in & bought my first glass of wine. No meat served.

A charming restaurant in Hanalei. Their menu doesn’t have any meat (only fish) or refined sugar, and they use a lot of fruit they grow themselves. The Sombrero was probably the best meal we had all whttp://www.urbanspoon.com/admin/blog_post_approval?overdue_trusted=1eek.

We were looking for a place to eat very last minute and the staff at Postcards made room for us at the bar. Jeff (the bartender) gave us a wonderful evening with great recommendations, attentive service, and a positive demeanor. M We ordered the lambs and the fish special (swordfish). Both were delicious and we liked them equally. We topped it off with a cheesecake that was melt in your mouth. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a homey feel, upscale dining experience in Hanalei.

A hidden gem in Kauai! Some of the best food we had all week. My partner and I both got the tofu dish, which was exceptional! My father got the lamb and he loved it. Everything blew us away here and the chef does an amazing job and combing flavors in each dish. We also split the caesar salad and sashimi and both were amazing. I highly recommend everything we ordered! The bartender also made a fabulous espresso martini for dessert.

This is the best restaurant on Kauai. We’ve gone to the rest of them and this takes the cake. The service is impeccable (Jeff at the bar is a sweetheart), the food is awesome, prices reasonable, and the space just seeps classy Hawaiian vibes. This was our favorite eating experience of our 12-day vacation. Best mai tai on the island (maybe rivaling Tiki Iniki), best pina colada I’ve ever had, and the rack of lamb was brilliant (I don’t usually even like lamb). Thank you, Postcards, for renewing our faith in vacation meals.

We had a fantastic meal at Postcards this evening. Our server A.J. was absolutely the best! He took the time to explain the choices and answered our questions, which helped a lot to make decisions. We started out with a Traditional Mai Tai and a specialty Dragon Fruit martini. We split the amazing crispy leek and soba noodle salad. Absolutely a real treasure and so unusual and tasty! I got the tofu with daikon radish and broccoli-- not something I normally would have selected, but I listened to A.J's recommendation, and I was so glad that I did. My dinner companion had the special market fish plate, which was a stripped Marlin dish tonight. All dishes had such lovely presentations! We finished with the goat cheese cheesecake which was perfect. We were glad to have a reservation which we easily made online. The atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing, and we chose to eat on the enclosed front porch. You won't go wrong dining here--just wonderful!

We came here kind of as a last resort after the Dolphin was super rude and Kalypso was no longer seating (and also pretty rude tbh). I'm so glad we did. This place is amazing! Cute little restaurant with an adorable outside area. The food was incredible. We split the Caesar salad and Tofu Nori. Highly recommend both. Drinks were good. Our server Kevin was a doll. He was super busy but killed it. The hostess was crushing it too. After two weird experiences, coming here saved our night and made my friends last dinner on Kauai special. Definitely a place worth checking out.

An absolute must stop! This was by far my most favorite meal on my 11 day trip. The menu is small but from what I can tell you won't need more than they offer. They have something for everyone. Grab a reservation if you can. First off the ambience is lovely.. We sat on the screened in porch for dinner, the tiki torches and the quietness of the town was refreshing after a long day of traveling. They also have inside seating, bar seating, back porch seating and lawn seating which is great for kids to run around. The staff was not only friendly but also very professional. Timing on the food was spot on. We started with The crispy leek salad... Get it. It's delicious, light, crunchy, savory... Just do it. My husband had the market fish, it was swordfish that day and was cooked to perfection. I had the nori tofu dish, I can't say enough about the coconut wasabi sauce. For dessert we had both the cheesecake and the chocolate cake... Absolute divine. The texture on the cheesecake was as smooth as it could be. My husband had the Mai Tai, it was perfectly balanced and not too sweet... I had the house made hibiscus tea, also not sweet with a great flavor. I will definitely be back one day!

Best elevated food in town! Service was good. We had a large party and we had to sit at two separate tables but the place is small so understandable. They were out of the wagyu coulotte and the menu is small so that was disappointing. Our one appetizer did not come out until entrées were served so the timing and pace could have been better. The food was excellent however and presented beautifully. Ordered the leek salad made with soba noodles and the rack of lamb. Both were incredible. Had the ice cream pie which was a great way to end the meal. Overall, best food on the north shore and highly recommend! Get reservation though!

Absolutely marvelous dining experience. Some of the best ceviche I’ve had. The crispy leek salad was delicious. The market fish was swordfish when we were there, and it was cooked perfectly. I can’t recommend the food enough. The drinks were something special too. Be sure to make a reservation! Left feeling satisfied, happy, and full of new memories. Mahalo!

On our last night in Kauai, we traveled a short way from our lodging to check out Postcards Restaurant, and we are so glad we did. My wife and I arrived a bit before they opened, and found out they were booked for the evening (and not quite open yet). Jeff, the bartender then told us if we could stop back in 30 minutes when rhey opened he could most likely get us in at the bar. He did, and the service (from greeting to leaving after the incredible meal) was top notch. Jeff is super knowledgeable about food, wine and life. We got the chef special as well as one of the other signature dishes and followed it up with a great dessert. Wow. Wow. Wow. This has definitely become a favorite and we will be back. Make a reservation, but sit at the bar and let Jeff and team take care of you. You will not be disappointed.

This was the best dinning experience we had on the island by far. Kevin was a fantastic waiter! The lamb, swordfish, and wagyu were absolutely fantastic. A little more expensive than some places but not by much. If you are a looking for a very nice meal in a comfortable welcoming environment with great staff don’t hesitate to come here.

Wonderful experience at this adorable little joint. Walked in after a long day of hiking and they were able to sit us at the bar, may want to consider a reservation ahead of time if you can though. Jeff the bartender as wonderful! Also my tofu dish was delicious. Appreciate the creativity and eclectic nature of the dishes. Overall a much better experience than any other sit down dining restaurant experience we’ve had while on the island. Upscale and classy but okay to wear hiking clothes if you didn’t bring a change of clothes.

Sat at the bar and had a warm welcome from Jeff the bartender. Food was great - ordered a ricotta/peach starter and tofu curry and sashimi. For dessert, had the ice cream mudslide. Expensive but seems like everything on the island is! Definitely recommend.
